Your video says "buyer beware" very well. It reminded me of my childhood. The moral of the a story is, don't be a bad guy. But if they don't have any plans to change, any time soon, all we are left with is, to get out there (out here on UA-cam) and say Buyers Beware! And I appreciate it.
I'm not sure if you've gotten this before but your videos make me VERY emotional man. With me watching your videos, I restarted my collection in 2022 and my collection grew very fast in 2023 plus a 2006 monochrome $5, a $1 trinary, and a 2013 $1 star that I've saved since 2018 from my old small collection. I've learned a ton from your videos man, I've found 3 Near Solids (2013 L77377777P, 2017A J44444454A, 2017A J44444644A), One $1 True Binary, 70 $1 Sheet Star notes this year alone, $5 MF-4 64,000 print run from a Walmart self checkout, a Super Repeater from 2017A (D19191919B Washingtion DC version since 2017A D/B block is both FW and DC), 2 Error Notes (Contamination Ink Error and Filled Star Note), a lot of small heads, a $5 small head 1995 star note of $1.1M print run, some NICE monochrome notes, made some good friends with bank tellers, a few repeaters, a few radars, 3 star note packs (One contained a GEM UNC 2013 K11 Star Note Radar), a TON of 5 in a rows, a few 6 in a rows (the BEST one I got was NA00000092F $20 note from a Walmart self checkout), The exact same serial numbers (E49444414D 2013 and L49444414F 2017). A lot of quads, a ton of trinaries by the way, and THANK YOU for everything Stuplubak, I believe I've been subscribed since early 2022, maybe at 2K or 3K subscribers but I could be wrong! :)
Thank you so much! You’ve scored better than I have over the same time. Congratulations! So many people focus on coins. Frankly, my eyes just aren’t that good. I also see how disrespectful and disruptive coin collectors can be to banks. There’s a right way and a wrong way to to it. I’m glad to hear you are doing it not only right, but successfully. When I film my videos, I hope the passion comes through. So many channels are more worried about how to make money rather than what to collect and why. I’m a collector. @@Stuplubakcurrency I use a few Bank of America branches and some notes comes from my Walmart and I try to be as nice as possible to the bank tellers and they’ve saved me some really nice notes (Small head $100 binary, small heads, monochrome notes, and rare stars! I’ve notice coin collectors create a huge line at like 10AM and one told me they had her stressed out with a big deposit one hour after the bank opened that day in the California Summer!
Saw this video coming....from space! I agree 100% with this video. Id argue combination of a low serial number and binary like 00000001 or 00000010 is worth more than $500. Maybe a video on the value of super low serial numbers could be appropriate?

There is no such thing. Why would a trinary with just 0,1,2 be harder or more rare than a trinary with 7,8,9? These are from people trying to create rareness. There are 695,220 trinaries. Only 10% of them start with a zero. Does that mean a trinary that starts with zero is more rare? Of course not. Take it to the extreme. There are 8 ways to make a solid but there is only one way to make your birthday. Does that mean your birthday note is worth more than a solid?
Value is determined between a willing buyer and willing seller regardless of rarity. An item that only has a one of but has no interest is valueless but an item with 1million items and 2 million buyers becomes valuable. Buy and collect what you like regardless of rarity and you will put together a collection that you enjoy looking at and building on.
100% disagree. If you buy my trinary for $2000, you will NEVER recover that money. Not only that, ANY respectable dealer would tell you it’s worth face value. You paying $2000 also doesn’t mean the other 1500 trinaries in my box are worth $2000 each. There comes a time when a person has to determine what is more important, honesty or profit. Selling ice cubes to Eskimos does not increase the value of ice. It demonstrates a person’s willingness to tell any story regardless of truth for the sake of profit. I do agree to collect what you like. But I have no respect for people who call themselves dealers and sell worthless items. Newer collectors put their trust in the honesty and integrity of dealers. How do you sell a worthless note and then expect that buyer to return after they learn they were scammed? Not only should they never trust that dealer again, but will probably assume the entire hobby is that shady. People forget the importance of growing the hobby. Nothing destroys that hobby as fast as people scamming newbies to make a buck. I collect plenty of notes that I think are neat but I will never push a false value.
@@Stuplubakcurrency I agree that scammers should be called out but I stick with the mention that a fair market value is determined between a willing buyer and willing seller and no matter what it is you are selling or buying, past auction sales are part of that value equation. If only one person buys that trinary for $10 that is ignored but if 50 people buy it for $10 that becomes the basis for the value. Part of my career was as a registered gemologist that did appraisals and that information I quoted is what is taught to professional appraisers
@GDSavingThePast By definition, market value is not determined by a single buyer and seller but on the MARKET. I would certainly call a full time dealer part of the market and a source as to what market value is. I have never been to a LCS and seen a box of trinaries even though they are easily found in circulation. Yet, dealers won’t sell them or even stock them. Why? Because they have a reputation to protect. You would certainly not try to sell glass to rookie gem collectors no matter how much money they would be willing to spend. You were the expert that they relied on to tell them what is valuable and what isn’t. This is no different.
I probable paid a little to much for the Web Note I bought but I did not have one and wanted it. We all pay to much sometimes for something we like and enjoy. Your money my money, it does not matter, buy and collect what you like and enjoy. You go man.
Yep, the only trinary actually worth anything is already something else that happens to have 3 numbers, like a low serial number of 00000013 for example. This video should really drive it home for people, but there will always be the willfully ignorant.

Once again, still just a trinary. Does it look neat? Sure. But is it worth anything? Nope. I’m not saying not to collect it, I’m just saying don’t pay anything for it. The bigger question is “why”. If you are looking for the number 55386890, that would be EXTREMELY hard to find. In fact, it’s 1 in 100,000,000. You may never find it. But that doesn’t change the value. You keep asking about trinaries. Changing the order or specific digits doesn’t increase the value. If the only way to describe a number is by calling it a trinary, it’s not worth anything. If you have a note that is 21000012, I wouldn’t call it a trinary, I would call that a radar. That has value. If you have 00000021, I wouldn’t call it a trinary, I would call it a very low number. That has value. I wouldn’t call 21102110 a trinary. I would call that a repeater. That had value. Who is putting these thoughts in your head? I am about to buy a car. If they want to insist to you that random forms of trinaries are worth anything, please tell them I have 1500 of them for sale at half of what they claim they can sell them for. If they can sell them for $10, I will gladly take $7500 for mine.
Correct. And only the bills that are rare are worth anything. I picture a true binary, a regular binary, and a trinary. You have to understand all 3 if you want to put a value on any of them.
I have 2 trinaries in sucession.. super crisp, ms bills. They are within a 3 consecutive set, so basically they are sperated by only 1 bill, which is needed, as the middle one couldnt harbor the right number. What do you think something like that would actually be worth then?

That doesn’t mean it’s actually worth anything. It means you can scam ignorant people. Do you think there are more sellers or more buyers? Truth be told, there are VERY few people who actually BUY currency. Those who do (like me) understand value and rarity. But everyone who handles money will eventually stumble on something they think is rare and worth a fortune. Their first thought isn’t to save it but rather to immediately try to sell it for as much as possible. They themselves would never buy the item they are trying to sell. Before they found the item, many never even considered its existence. But now it’s in their possession so it must be worth a fortune. No. It’s not. I find 7 trinaries every week. There are 700,000 in EVERY SINGLE BLOCK of every federal reserve of every series. That’s not rare. “But these are consecutive “. So what. Every note is printed consecutively. If you have a trinary made up of consecutive numbers (1,2,3), you will find complete consecutive sequences. Still not rare. Still not worth anything. I will gladly go through my box of trinaries and pull all of the consecutive ones and sell them to you for $10 each. Except you won’t buy them because you don’t collect them. It’s not about what you collect, it’s about what they are worth. Since you KNOW they are only WORTH face value, you won’t buy them. But you want me to help you turn a profit on an ignorant person. Just spend them. Both of us have already wasted more than $10 of our time trying to justify you trying to scam someone for $10. Spend them and move on.
@@Stuplubakcurrency I wouldn't sell anything for only face value, because id make no money! How dumb would that be?? There are other aspects to a market than simply the value of the bill.. or a bill. What people are willing to pay. How much they are willing to over-bid someone. My bills are 100 times more rare than a simple trinary bill. You're too black and white, and hang on simply the value.. rigidly pushing out all other forms of precieved value, or forms of selling. People do overprice stuff for sure. I can see what you are saying about that aspect, but if it's reasonable, no harm done in my mind. That's what negotiations, and auctions are for. You can't really expect someone to sell something at face value, ship it to you free, or not try to get more value themselves. It's not rational. I believe you when you say it's probably worth face value to YOU though. You know good values. You don't understand the concept of business though. Working for free man! Live a little.
This is good fyi: your being scammed the other side of the other side of story... Value can also mean what others will pay for it...supply demand. It can be numbers that have value to that buyer. Its also the buyer who helps to determine the value you can market something all day long but if ppl wont buy it then it has no value except to the seller.. True Binary numbers should go for way more than what they do but again ppl are helping to determinine what they want to pay not just the seller determining values U made a good point but just becuz u dont value that price dont mean others wont .. and its up to them to choose wisely r to be foolish. thanks for this but really u prolly cpuld sell ur trinary notes 3-5$ a piece in ebay it take time ti finf the note and if right eye clean look yes ppl will buy it not all is getting scammed but i know u mean well and thats what we value about u although i cant fully agree with u on this❤
100% disagree. For every 100 million notes, 700,000 are trinaries. That means for a 2017 A note from Boston, in the AA block, there are 700,000 of them. Then the AB block has another 700,000. Then the New York reserve has the BA block, BB block, etc., If you only count 1 block from the most recent series, that’s 8.4 million trinaries. If each reserve did ONLY 2 blocks, we are at 17 MILLION!. Some did more. But that’s just the 2017A series. There is also the 2017 series. They printed at least that many notes. Now we are at 34 MILLION. The most prevalent series still circulating is from 2013. The Richmond Reserve made to the EU block. That’s 20 MORE blocks or 17 MILLION MORE trinaries and that’s just from 1 reserve. There are 11 more. And let’s not forget I am SEVERELY underestimating the total number of blocks. The amount of trinaries currently circulating is well over 100 Million. PLEASE stop telling people that these are rare. They aren’t. If a person collects trinaries, take the money you would have spent and buy some singles. This is a hobby. It should be fun. If you don’t have time for your hobby then you don’t understand what a hobby is.
I appreciate your videos and have learned a lot. However, I will say that you have the same angle that a lot of the other older UA-camrs have about currency and that is that a coin shop is the final place to determine value. Little Johnny should not have tried to sell those at a coin shop because coin shops do not understand the eBay market. If eBay is paying that amount of money for those bills, that is the cost That the market will bear. So the only problem with your story is that Johnny would never have gone to a coin shop because he knows it’s not valuable there. He would’ve gone to eBay and sold it where the market will bear that price. Sold listings prove that it’s worth that so for you to say it’s a scam is not fair. The proof of value is the sold listings.
Wow! I want to make sure I understand you. You say a person who owns an actual brick and mortar business (and has most likely for decades) doesn’t understand the difference between VALUE and what sells on eBay. Is that correct? I’ll help you. An actual dealer relies on not only sales, but his reputation. An eBay seller doesn’t care who they hurt as long as they are making money. Your story falls apart the millisecond that I ask you to put your money where your mouth is. For instance, in my video I said that an 1899 $1 Black eagle graded 35 was worth $200. If you have one like that, I would gladly give you $100 for it. If you have 10 of them I will give you $1000. If you had 100, I would give you $10,000!!! But the thing is so would any dealer or anyone else in the hobby. Why? Because it actually had value. Please name your price on a trinary. Don’t tell me you aren’t a buyer. If they are worth anything you can resell them. I don’t sell cars but if you want to sell your $10,000 car for $2000 would buy it in a heartbeat because I KNOW I could flip it. So, again, what’s a trinary worth? $10? $5? Fine. I have 1500 of them. They are yours for $3 each. That’s $4500. I accept PayPal, cash app, Zelle, or cash. The price on eBay is not “what the market will bear”, it’s an accounting of how many little Johnnys and his grandmothers are out there. Let’s say there is one Johnny in every town. He bought 10 of these over the summer. His grandmother also bought 10. That’s 20. How many towns or cities per county? Let’s say 5. That’s 100 sales. If there are 100 counties per state, that’s 10,000 sales per state. There are 50 states. That’s 500,000 sales to people who don’t know any better. What if I’m off by 99.9%? That means you could STILL FIND over 500 sales on eBay!!! What if I was to say I don’t believe junk silver is worth more than face value. I have $10,000 face value of SLQs, merc dimes, and Barber halves. If I said I would sell them to you at twice face value, you would mortgage your house tomorrow for them. So explain to me one more time why you aren’t jumping at the chance to buy my trinaries at your price. Unless, of course, that even you don’t believe it.

If so, you’re American the rest of the world doesn’t believe that you need to expand your reasoning about how the Internet sees value. What do you think the typical ages of someone who owns a coin store or who is in a coin club? 65 and older would be the typical average country wide most people don’t even go to coin stores because they are disappearing across the country. The younger generation has no connection to those older coins, and therefore have no interest most of the time.

A $1 silver certificate is barely worth $3. They printed them for 40 years!!! Yet I have less than 50 of them. Compare that to my 1500 trinaries. They aren’t rare. Having 1500 of ANYTHING pretty much declares it NOT rare. Every week, it’s not IF I find trinaries, it’s how many will I find. Who in their right mind would call that rare? I have a Where’s George stamp. Are you saying I should stamp 100 singles and sell them for $800? That’s what’s happening on eBay. According to you, that’s what the market will bear. According to me, those people are not aware and are being scammed by sellers they think they can trust. According to eBay, the value of a $2 yellow seal from 1928 is $400 because that’s what they sell for. I mean except for the fact that they never made a $2 yellow seal note and that you can just take a beat up red seal worth face value and dip it in chlorine to turn the red seal yellow. Who cares that it’s fake and illegal. They MUST be worth that much because that’s what they sell for on eBay. Something tells me your LCS won’t try to sell you one of these. According to your opinion, I should buy chlorine and stamp notes and I could retire next week! I got it! I am going to find a 1928 $2 red seal that’s a trinary. Then I will bleach it yellow. Finally I will stamp where’s George on it. I will then tell everyone that YOU said this is worth millions because YOU believe trinaries are worth money. YOU believe eBay sales determine value. But they are experts in the field and also in the business of making money. If it has value they will sell it. But if they were to sell trinaries, they would also have to buy them from customers. We’re trying to have a conversation about differences in the evolving hobby of numismatics. To you everything is about rarity. To many people on the Internet, they collect things because they like the way it looks they don’t care whether it’s rare or not if a Trenary has a arrangement of numbers that is pleasing to someone’s eye or has an important day or whatever that’s their opinion of what is cool to look at. I’m not defending scammers. If someone says this is a rare double die and it’s not, that’s a scam. But if someone says a trinary could easily be worth 3 to 5 dollars based on sales on the eBay, that is not a scam because there are many of those notes that people will pay that and more for because they like the numerology. Have you ever heard of liars poker? People play that all over the world with US one dollar bills and sometimes those Trinaries are very desired by that group. All trinaries are not equal but some have very pleasing arrangement of numbers. Especially other parts of the world like the numerology on number seven and eight. I also agree. The where is George sells on eBay is stupid because yes, I also have a stamp. No I’m not naïve to think all sellers are looking out for buyers. All that I’m saying is that the market that has evolved on the Internet on eBay and many other places yes it has scams all places have scams and I don’t want people to be taken advantage of but that doesn’t mean those markets are not legitimate and established markets. @BPEONTHETUBE I could not disagree more. Let’s start with liars poker. I was a poker dealer for 16 years. I have never played it. I have never seen it played. I’m not saying it doesn’t exist but you used the example. You want me to believe that a person that plays this with ANY regularity at all is going to spend money on a note that would take them 10 minutes to find if they just went to the bank? A trinary isn’t a poker hand. I could understand 6 in a row. That’s a poker hand. And it’s actually rare and worth something. Probably around $10. Almost the same price as your trinary but beats SO MANY more hands including a trinary. If you were to spend a nominal amount for the sake of liars poker, it should be on a winning note. Believe me. If I ever would be allowed to play, my 7 in a row would be brought every time. I mean, how stupid is a person to SPEND money on a losing note? As for the numerology aspect, I would also have to assume they would be good at math. Or at the very least, have an understanding of odds. I hear you with all of these “cop out” stories you tell yourself to justify ripping people off. You want me to believe that a person who doesn’t have the time to look through 2 straps of singles has the desire to acquire them at over face value. They don’t have time to read the numbers on the notes in their pocket but somehow had the time to learn what a trinary is, watch some scammer make videos about it and then track one down on eBay. But That’s why it’s worth more than face value. Because it’s hard to find. Go to the bank right now and buy 2 straps. You will get one. If you don’t have the money, then you certainly shouldn’t be wasting money on trinaries. If you don’t have time right now, wait until you do have time for your hobby. I will never endorse any excuse for buying a trinary. At some point, a person willing to pay cash for a trinary will get one in change, and probably within the next 30 days. Stop justifying scammers. Trinaries are worthless. Period. End of story.
You are wrong. There are enough people who WILL pay $5-$10 because they don’t know any better. That gives scammers the “proof” that they are worth money. Yet when you take it to an actual dealer, you learn that you were scammed. 50 people falling for fraud doesn’t make an extremely common note more valuable.

The only thing that matters is what is a person willing to pay for a given product. If a person is willing to pay $20 for one of my Trinaries then that is what it is worth. It is not worth the result of a mathematical extrapolation.
100% wrong. If a person buys a trinary for $100, that doesn’t make my 1000 trinaries worth $100 each. If you want a trinary, go to the bank and get one for face value. Watch any of my weekly videos and see how many I find every week. If you truly believe what you say, I will wish an older relative of yours goes out and buys you 100 trinaries for $20 each for your birthday.
@@Stuplubakcurrency within the context of the sale is my point.... obviously you're correct; a single sale does not designate a trend necessarily though, markets lose their minds and for a short time we'll see relatively common items sell at over inflated prices.

Scamming 20 people for $20 each would be a trend but certainly not evidence of value, just evidence of gullibility. If there is TRUE value, you would buy EVERY note you could at half of what you say the value is. If I offered you a $100 for $50, you would buy as many as you could! If you want to tell me a trinary is worth $20, you can have 1000 of mine for $10,000 and double your money. Clearly you wouldn’t buy it so clearly you don’t believe the value. @@Stuplubakcurrency I use a few Bank of America branches and some notes comes from my Walmart and I try to be as nice as possible to the bank tellers and they’ve saved me some really nice notes (Small head $100 binary, small heads, monochrome notes, and rare stars! I’ve notice coin collectors create a huge line at like 10AM and one told me they had her stressed out with a big deposit one hour after the bank opened that day in the California Summer!

I was wondering what the odds of findiing a true trinary a note with just 0,1,&2's???
There is no such thing. Why would a trinary with just 0,1,2 be harder or more rare than a trinary with 7,8,9? These are from people trying to create rareness. There are 695,220 trinaries. Only 10% of them start with a zero. Does that mean a trinary that starts with zero is more rare? Of course not. Take it to the extreme. There are 8 ways to make a solid but there is only one way to make your birthday. Does that mean your birthday note is worth more than a solid?
Value is determined between a willing buyer and willing seller regardless of rarity. An item that only has a one of but has no interest is valueless but an item with 1million items and 2 million buyers becomes valuable.
Buy and collect what you like regardless of rarity and you will put together a collection that you enjoy looking at and building on.
100% disagree. If you buy my trinary for $2000, you will NEVER recover that money. Not only that, ANY respectable dealer would tell you it’s worth face value. You paying $2000 also doesn’t mean the other 1500 trinaries in my box are worth $2000 each. There comes a time when a person has to determine what is more important, honesty or profit. Selling ice cubes to Eskimos does not increase the value of ice. It demonstrates a person’s willingness to tell any story regardless of truth for the sake of profit. I do agree to collect what you like. But I have no respect for people who call themselves dealers and sell worthless items. Newer collectors put their trust in the honesty and integrity of dealers. How do you sell a worthless note and then expect that buyer to return after they learn they were scammed? Not only should they never trust that dealer again, but will probably assume the entire hobby is that shady. People forget the importance of growing the hobby. Nothing destroys that hobby as fast as people scamming newbies to make a buck. I collect plenty of notes that I think are neat but I will never push a false value.
@@Stuplubakcurrency I agree that scammers should be called out but I stick with the mention that a fair market value is determined between a willing buyer and willing seller and no matter what it is you are selling or buying, past auction sales are part of that value equation. If only one person buys that trinary for $10 that is ignored but if 50 people buy it for $10 that becomes the basis for the value.
Part of my career was as a registered gemologist that did appraisals and that information I quoted is what is taught to professional appraisers
@GDSavingThePast By definition, market value is not determined by a single buyer and seller but on the MARKET. I would certainly call a full time dealer part of the market and a source as to what market value is. I have never been to a LCS and seen a box of trinaries even though they are easily found in circulation. Yet, dealers won’t sell them or even stock them. Why? Because they have a reputation to protect. You would certainly not try to sell glass to rookie gem collectors no matter how much money they would be willing to spend. You were the expert that they relied on to tell them what is valuable and what isn’t. This is no different.
I recently obtained a true Binary radar. Paid ($60 in VF), a little too much, but it's nice to have.
I’ve only found one. The star in this video was part of a collection that I bought. At $60, that puts a trinary at about 2 cents!
I probable paid a little to much for the Web Note I bought but I did not have one and wanted it. We all pay to much sometimes for something we like and enjoy. Your money my money, it does not matter, buy and collect what you like and enjoy. You go man.

Yep, the only trinary actually worth anything is already something else that happens to have 3 numbers, like a low serial number of 00000013 for example. This video should really drive it home for people, but there will always be the willfully ignorant.

The bigger question is “why”. If you are looking for the number 55386890, that would be EXTREMELY hard to find. In fact, it’s 1 in 100,000,000. You may never find it. But that doesn’t change the value. You keep asking about trinaries. Changing the order or specific digits doesn’t increase the value. If the only way to describe a number is by calling it a trinary, it’s not worth anything. If you have a note that is 21000012, I wouldn’t call it a trinary, I would call that a radar. That has value. If you have 00000021, I wouldn’t call it a trinary, I would call it a very low number. That has value. I wouldn’t call 21102110 a trinary. I would call that a repeater. That had value. Who is putting these thoughts in your head? I am about to buy a car. If they want to insist to you that random forms of trinaries are worth anything, please tell them I have 1500 of them for sale at half of what they claim they can sell them for. If they can sell them for $10, I will gladly take $7500 for mine.

Correct. And only the bills that are rare are worth anything. I picture a true binary, a regular binary, and a trinary. You have to understand all 3 if you want to put a value on any of them.

I have 2 trinaries in sucession.. super crisp, ms bills. They are within a 3 consecutive set, so basically they are sperated by only 1 bill, which is needed, as the middle one couldnt harbor the right number.

Truth be told, there are VERY few people who actually BUY currency. Those who do (like me) understand value and rarity. But everyone who handles money will eventually stumble on something they think is rare and worth a fortune. Their first thought isn’t to save it but rather to immediately try to sell it for as much as possible. They themselves would never buy the item they are trying to sell. Before they found the item, many never even considered its existence. But now it’s in their possession so it must be worth a fortune. No. It’s not. I find 7 trinaries every week. There are 700,000 in EVERY SINGLE BLOCK of every federal reserve of every series. That’s not rare. “But these are consecutive “. So what. Every note is printed consecutively. If you have a trinary made up of consecutive numbers (1,2,3), you will find complete consecutive sequences. Still not rare. Still not worth anything. I will gladly go through my box of trinaries and pull all of the consecutive ones and sell them to you for $10 each. Except you won’t buy them because you don’t collect them. It’s not about what you collect, it’s about what they are worth. Since you KNOW they are only WORTH face value, you won’t buy them. But you want me to help you turn a profit on an ignorant person. Just spend them. Both of us have already wasted more than $10 of our time trying to justify you trying to scam someone for $10. Spend them and move on.

There are other aspects to a market than simply the value of the bill.. or a bill.
What people are willing to pay. How much they are willing to over-bid someone.
My bills are 100 times more rare than a simple trinary bill.
You're too black and white, and hang on simply the value.. rigidly pushing out all other forms of precieved value, or forms of selling.
People do overprice stuff for sure. I can see what you are saying about that aspect, but if it's reasonable, no harm done in my mind.

Value can also mean what others will pay for it...supply demand. It can be numbers that have value to that buyer. Its also the buyer who helps to determine the value you can market something all day long but if ppl wont buy it then it has no value except to the seller.. True Binary numbers should go for way more than what they do but again ppl are helping to determinine what they want to pay not just the seller determining values

100% disagree. For every 100 million notes, 700,000 are trinaries. That means for a 2017 A note from Boston, in the AA block, there are 700,000 of them. Then the AB block has another 700,000. Then the New York reserve has the BA block, BB block, etc., If you only count 1 block from the most recent series, that’s 8.4 million trinaries. If each reserve did ONLY 2 blocks, we are at 17 MILLION!. Some did more. But that’s just the 2017A series. There is also the 2017 series. They printed at least that many notes. Now we are at 34 MILLION. The most prevalent series still circulating is from 2013. The Richmond Reserve made to the EU block. That’s 20 MORE blocks or 17 MILLION MORE trinaries and that’s just from 1 reserve. There are 11 more. And let’s not forget I am SEVERELY underestimating the total number of blocks. The amount of trinaries currently circulating is well over 100 Million. PLEASE stop telling people that these are rare. They aren’t. If a person collects trinaries, take the money you would have spent and buy some singles. This is a hobby. It should be fun. If you don’t have time for your hobby then you don’t understand what a hobby is.

However, I will say that you have the same angle that a lot of the other older UA-camrs have about currency and that is that a coin shop is the final place to determine value. Little Johnny should not have tried to sell those at a coin shop because coin shops do not understand the eBay market. If eBay is paying that amount of money for those bills, that is the cost That the market will bear. So the only problem with your story is that Johnny would never have gone to a coin shop because he knows it’s not valuable there. He would’ve gone to eBay and sold it where the market will bear that price.
Sold listings prove that it’s worth that so for you to say it’s a scam is not fair. The proof of value is the sold listings.

You say a person who owns an actual brick and mortar business (and has most likely for decades) doesn’t understand the difference between VALUE and what sells on eBay. Is that correct? I’ll help you. An actual dealer relies on not only sales, but his reputation. An eBay seller doesn’t care who they hurt as long as they are making money. Your story falls apart the millisecond that I ask you to put your money where your mouth is. For instance, in my video I said that an 1899 $1 Black eagle graded 35 was worth $200. If you have one like that, I would gladly give you $100 for it. If you have 10 of them I will give you $1000. If you had 100, I would give you $10,000!!! But the thing is so would any dealer or anyone else in the hobby. Why? Because it actually had value. Please name your price on a trinary. Don’t tell me you aren’t a buyer. If they are worth anything you can resell them. I don’t sell cars but if you want to sell your $10,000 car for $2000 would buy it in a heartbeat because I KNOW I could flip it. So, again, what’s a trinary worth? $10? $5? Fine. I have 1500 of them. They are yours for $3 each. That’s $4500. I accept PayPal, cash app, Zelle, or cash. The price on eBay is not “what the market will bear”, it’s an accounting of how many little Johnnys and his grandmothers are out there. Let’s say there is one Johnny in every town. He bought 10 of these over the summer. His grandmother also bought 10. That’s 20. How many towns or cities per county? Let’s say 5. That’s 100 sales. If there are 100 counties per state, that’s 10,000 sales per state. There are 50 states. That’s 500,000 sales to people who don’t know any better. What if I’m off by 99.9%? That means you could STILL FIND over 500 sales on eBay!!! What if I was to say I don’t believe junk silver is worth more than face value. I have $10,000 face value of SLQs, merc dimes, and Barber halves. If I said I would sell them to you at twice face value, you would mortgage your house tomorrow for them. So explain to me one more time why you aren’t jumping at the chance to buy my trinaries at your price. Unless, of course, that even you don’t believe it.

The younger generation has no connection to those older coins, and therefore have no interest most of the time.

According to eBay, the value of a $2 yellow seal from 1928 is $400 because that’s what they sell for. To many people on the Internet, they collect things because they like the way it looks they don’t care whether it’s rare or not if a Trenary has a arrangement of numbers that is pleasing to someone’s eye or has an important day or whatever that’s their opinion of what is cool to look at. I’m not defending scammers. If someone says this is a rare double die and it’s not, that’s a scam. But if someone says a trinary could easily be worth 3 to 5 dollars based on sales on the eBay, that is not a scam because there are many of those notes that people will pay that and more for because they like the numerology. A trinary isn’t a poker hand. I could understand 6 in a row. That’s a poker hand. And it’s actually rare and worth something. Probably around $10. Almost the same price as your trinary but beats SO MANY more hands including a trinary. If you were to spend a nominal amount for the sake of liars poker, it should be on a winning note. Believe me. If I ever would be allowed to play, my 7 in a row would be brought every time. I mean, how stupid is a person to SPEND money on a losing note? As for the numerology aspect, I would also have to assume they would be good at math. Or at the very least, have an understanding of odds. I will never endorse any excuse for buying a trinary. At some point, a person willing to pay cash for a trinary will get one in change, and probably within the next 30 days. Stop justifying scammers. You are wrong. There are enough people who WILL pay $5-$10 because they don’t know any better. That gives scammers the “proof” that they are worth money. Yet when you take it to an actual dealer, you learn that you were scammed. 50 people falling for fraud doesn’t make an extremely common note more valuable.

The only thing that matters is what is a person willing to pay for a given product. If a person is willing to pay $20 for one of my Trinaries then that is what it is worth. It is not worth the result of a mathematical extrapolation.

Watch any of my weekly videos and see how many I find every week.
