Your house doesn't look like a typical single, construction guys/ catfishermans house. I'm convinced you're either a brain surgeon or rocket scientist....Carry on.
Yep that’s to funny, he did say he had not took a day off in 7 years or something one time. 😬 probably developed/ built that dag- blasted whole subdivision
Dave, love ya man. Enjoying your videos while smoking a cigar and having an adult beverage. It does piss you off when you wave at a man and he doesn’t wave back. Keep on enjoying life! Take care!
Way to tough it out Dave! Great to see the patented Catfish Dave hookset! I have utilized your hookset while flathead fishing up here in Philly! People look at me strange, but, I'm smiling the whole time!😂 Tight lines, stay warm!👍🎣☕
Love the advice. I believe step #6 was the hardest to learn. Beautiful day to fish though. Keep up the lessons. Tell Tenn I'll get back there after the weather breaks, don't have a 2 wheel drive Ford truck.
Dave i saw you set up at the duck-poo dock the other day. I was gonna stop and say hello for a minute but my wife complained it was to cold and didn't want to sit in the truck. DAG BLASTED WIFE!!!!!
Thank you for continuously fishing for us in all seasons. I seriously look forward to your videos each day. I have learned so much from all your videos and they are quite entertaining. Thanks 'Catfish Outlaw'.
I watch all your videos Dave. I like the bank ones the best. Nothing like hearing the clicker, and the catfish Dave hook set. Thanks for another one. 🎣
All i can find around the Dallas Texas area right now is small and medium shad too. I guess the big ones are smarter and they go deeper to avoid a kill off. Here we’re far enough south that we also have thredfin shad I don’t know if you have thredfin shad in Tennessee or if it’s too cold but they especially die off in the winter and only about a third of them survive the winter.
That's was enjoyable, Dave...I'm in Shelbyville, and we got no snow !!! If Kodak is a good place to live, I may come your way...I have a horse in training there. Regardless, Happy New Year.
I am telling you Catfish Dave your an encyclopedia of information on catfishing, winter driving, finding bait, finding water, kind of vehicle best for winter driving oh and #9 never miss a catfish Dave episode on you tube channel. OOh-wee I want you to know I have never been so happy as I am now watching your shows. I am a much better fisherman, not to say I know what snack to have out fishing.I am telling you. I think everyone should watch Dave. He don't get enough credit for what he's started here . Thanks Dave
My Mom had a place in Sneedville TN for years after she retired and I can't remember her getting that much snow!! I live in Indiana and you got more snow than me Dave!!
You were right there at Melton Hill dam you could have caught some of those fish with the dang blasted stripes on them. Keep up the good work. I'll have to check out that store haven't been there in years.
Now this is the old school Catfish Dave I like..... When that reel starts screaming, you pick it up and run, set the hook, and catch CATFISH. Go Dave GO!
When you hear the clicker going do you turn the drag the other way real quick before you try and set the hook? I'm trying to understand the process of the drag and setting the hook with those conventional reels
I never mess with the drag. The reel is on free spool. Blue cats pick the bait up and will often make long runs. Channels hit hard then tend to let go. If you don't have blue cat I would lock the rods down in rod holders and let the fish set the hook on themselves using a circle hook
I enjoyed the video thank you for sharing I hope you had a Merry Christmas and I hope you have a Happy New year be safe catfish Dave I enjoyed all of the videos for this 2020 year
Wow, I guess my pals in KY are snowed in. You know it's been a while since I've seen you run up the bank like that. it's a satisfying feeling. Even from out here. Thanks Dave. That left me breathless.. or maybe its' the emphysema.
I enjoyed the video we don’t get snow just ice but I was out 37 degrees light rain cought 8 dinks but it was a adventure keep them lines wet and thanks
You covered the essential basics to catching fish.. It's all in how you drive in bad weather, when people have 4wheel drives they think their invincible...
I have a pond in my neighborhood full of big channel cats, blue cats and flatheads and i throw in dog food a couple times a month and some other people throw in dog food and i go there and use a dog food dough bait that i make and i catch fish by the ton. Big carp and buffalo and even some carp Buffalo hybrids in there too
Catfish DAVE you forgot one step of catching catfish and that is to cast it out there six miles from the bank into the deeper part of the water too have a great day now
Hey "Catfish". You the man 2 requirements for winter catfishing. 1. Make sure it's winter 2. Make sure there is water. Excellent tips. I'll remember them both. P.s. what the heck is all that white stuff on the ground. We don't get that here in TEXAS.
Good video for a Floridian in snow Dave. ;-) Most people don't know that if you get stuck TURN THE DAMN TRACTION CONTROL OFF! You only have one wheel driving at a time with it on if it breaks loose it transfers to another other wheel. This why you see all those all wheel drive's and 4X4's stuck in the ditch. Turn it off and you have 4 WHEEL DRIVE.
Catfish Dave, I'm sure you've addressed this question 1000 times. I'd appreciate it if you could address it one more time please. What kind of gear are you using? Specifically your rods and rod length. Thanks.
Catfish Dave is 52 or 53 and caught his first fish, a rainbow trout, at age 3 in California. I am 80 y.o. and caught my first real fish when I was about four years old and it was a Rio Grande cichlid caught in the Nueces River North West of Corpus Christi, TX. That was during WWII and meat was rationed and we went fishing very often, because mom and dad were both really good at catching fish. The first "thing" I caught was actually giant freshwater shrimp from the same river. It had claws about 9 inches long and I dropped my pole and ran up the bank. This river system has cichlids, tetras, and mollies all tropical families. These shrimp are similar to those of Central America, not the ones more recently introduced from SE Asia.

@@catfishkarma1 That's why he bought a 5 Watt Champ-Amp. :D
@@catfishkarma1 he's a driving instructor for ole ford trucks in the winter road conditions.
Sugar momma
Dave, love ya man. Enjoying your videos while smoking a cigar and having an adult beverage. It does piss you off when you wave at a man and he doesn’t wave back.
Keep on enjoying life!
Take care!
I love the sarcasm, I watch you because I hate people too and you fish the way I fish.
Gotta love that "weekly catfish entertainment"! LOL Keep up the great work, Dave!
Step number seven: grab rod and run halfway to Knoxville to set the hook.
ha ha ha lol I was thinking the same, and asking WHYYYYY?
@@elgiablair7158length of rod,how much line is out and the stretch of the mono line is why he's setting the hook like that
It has more to do with the nut behind the wheel than how many wheels are driving😂
Also having a posi-track differential is worth the money
Never thought I’d get winter driving tips on a fishing video lmfao
2 for the price of 1.lol
Dave teaches driving for winter conditions. .oh and people he's a bird shooting driver.
Love it. I could watch this stuff all day. The more sarcastic the better.
Catfish Dave is a G!!!!!! I learn something new every episode!🐟🐟
Been missing that running hook set.
Thanks for featuring us in the video Dave! Love my little phone cameo😂😂
I have really missed the running hooksets. I also appreciate the very detailed driving lesson on icy roads.

Where everyone knows Dave’s name not Cheers but Big Fish Outfitters, I hear those Fords have great heaters on the bumper for when you have to push em.
Very informative video there were somethings i wasn't sure of there but im glad you cleared it up. Thanks Dave for risking life and limbs for us fans.
What's going on Dave! Happy New Year man! Great 7 steps video I loved it it was crazy! Keep on doing anything man!
Can relate being from Wisconsin. Would like to see all the hot rods you got stored in that huge garage. Poor boat.

Hey mister Dave , do you have trouble at the boat ramps with 2 wheel drive
Dave how many times have you run off the boat and into the water trying to set the hook on a fish ?
Where in Tennessee are you located? I live in west Knoxville
All my life I wished I could sing, now I wish you could. Just kiddin, keep the videos comin. You inspired me to go this morning, got a couple.

I wish I could like this video more than once.
Dave, what fishing gear do you use (rods and reels)
I have been in similar situations, but I would keep it in first gear. I stayed out of the ditches. In neutral gear you did great. Awesome!!!
catfish Dave videos are the only videos I click the like button before the video plays haha
Have you made a video on your boat ? I’ve seen a bunch of your videos but I’m interested in your boat and set up.
His efforts he gave, the snow and ice Dave did brave, to show us how to catch catfish in winter, Thank You, Mr. Dave!

Big fish outfitters are awesome I was just there Saturday
Atta boy Dave, and I agree! If I wave and you don't, you better be an amputee. Have happy New Year
