  • Here's one of the best scenes from the war drama film 'The Imitation Game' where Alan Turing is interrogated about his role during World War II, and breaking the Enigma code at Bletchley Park. Based on the real-life story of Alan Turing, a British mathematician who joins the cryptography team to decipher the German enigma code. With the help of his fellow mathematicians, he builds a machine to crack the codes.

this movie is wonderful, Benedict’s acting is impeccable, and most importantly it told the story of Alan Turing in such a way that showed there was nothing wrong with him. I love this movie with all my heart. Rest In Peace, Alan.

This is a technique Ben probably learned from the acting academy where you switch roles and get more into character. Jeremy Irons explains it, as he had to play a similar ''feminine'' character or a character more involved with their emotions. Ben does it here with how he speaks.
The technique is to pin point where the character speaks and how they act. If you portray a ''logical'' character, you tap into your mind (the center of the forehead, as Irons explained) and for a more emotional character, you tap into your vocal range (Irons said it was the point just above the Adam's apple) which Ben does here. It's a slight change the actor makes but no less convincing. Ben usually uses his throat (obviously he has a baritone range) when speaking, but for his portrayal of Turing, you see and hear him use his mouth..if that makes sense.

Of course machines can't think as people do. A machine is different from a person. Hence, they think differently. The interesting question is, just because something, uh... thinks differently from you, does that mean it's not thinking? Well, we allow for humans to have such divergences from one another. You like strawberries, I hate ice-skating, you cry at sad films, I am allergic to pollen. What is the point of... different tastes, different... preferences, if not, to say that our brains work differently, that we think differently? And if we can say that about one another, then why can't we say the same thing for brains... built of copper and wire, steel?

Rationalize it how you want, they’re either gonna accept it and move on or not and never move away from that. They’ll either keep loving you or not. No version of how you say it to them will change this. The guy above is right, best to get on with it and see what cards everyone is holding, no?
All this is assuming you’re an adult, if not well… your parents are your parents whether you like it or not so just don’t do anything crazy if you don’t get the result you want from that conversation.

After the war British Intelligence estimated Turing had shortened the war by 2 years, thereby saving millions of lives. His persecution afterward is often seen as possibly the worst example of societal ingratitude ever. He should have been given an Earlship, a vast landed estate, and as many naked houseboys as he could handle.

I don’t even label a girl and guy living together a couple (heterosexual) since they maybe friends (unless they told me). Instead of sexuality being taught in primary school, but teach it with more hints in secondary school . We should explain that we rightly freed those not like us from sterilisation and death (they may save us one day) . Thanks goodness we left that dark age behind. He was given a pardon in the 1950s inc saving us from the Nazis earlier by coding 💯

I think we should clearfy the describtion of the action of "thinking" first. We are still not sure animals think or not, because when we are talking about activity of thinking we don't have anything to compare with human thoughts. Modern science allows us to observe what's happening in our brains while we think with the help of machines like electroencephalogram -which shows the neuron activity- and so on. Yet being able to observe how neurons behave in both human and animal brains isn't enough to interpret to decribe thinking as we know. Unless you do not put limits of the meaning of thinking as mere neuron activity.

Ovviamente le macchine non possono pensare come fanno le persone. Una macchina è diversa da una persona. Quindi, pensano in modo diverso. Google translate
