I have beaten god mode on gow 1 some days ago and i can tell you, the clone part from the Ares fight is absolute hell, i'm beating titan mode in gow 2 now, currently stuck in the translator 1 part, but i think the clones is way worse. It isn't only skill, but also luck to beat that fight, the ai can be very unfair some times but the strategy i used was to fill my rage of gods when healing the family, spamming Poseidon and army of hades magic.

Getting to thezeus fight is a bit of a drag in this game, but from then on it really picks up on pace.
The steeds of time pulling the island is definitely the best thing I have ever seen from this series I cannot get enough of it.
