What are your tips to save money in your country? Please let us know down below :)
How to save money in California? 🤔
You move. Just ask Chris 😂
UK: if you’re going to live here go far away from London. I live around 30 minutes from London’s border and we have very similar living costs to the city. You need to go a bit further afield to see lower costs.
For food, it’s a lot more affordable to cook at home than eat out. That being said, you can access very affordable food from places like supermarkets and Bakeries.
Sarah mentioned lunch time specials in Australia. Most Asian restaurants actually have the specials!! But for some reason they're usually not written in english =S
Singapore: Eat at the local Hawker centres, take public transport, go for hikes
Love chatting with you guys!! Hope some people found our tips helpful💪🏻❤️
Shizuka, Shiori, Sharla, Sarah... I think I’m seeing a theme here 🤔
Poor Ian got booted for that reason lol
Carla Nolalliv haha I was thinking that while we were recording😂❤️
They're all girls.
I love supermarket discount stickers ;) And I miss Hanbei and hanging out with friends. The food isn't the best quality but feeling is nostalgic Japan and nice and the food is soooo cheap! And Torikizoku is one of the other budget izakaya but not doing well due to pandemic ;(
For most foreigners, the single biggest expense will probably be rent.
Unfortunately, the only way to make it cheaper would be to move to a different place... So there is not much you can do, I think...
The second biggest expense is probably food.
So the best way to save money is to make your own food at home, as often as possible.
Eating out every day can easily consume most of your salary.
You should try to avoid eating out as much as possible.
One suggestion is to make 味噌汁 (miso-shiru) every day.
Miso is extremely cheap, and last for a long time.
And it is also extremely easy to make, all you have to do is boil whatever toppings you want and then add miso soon before turning off the fire. That is it. It only takes a few minutes to make, it is delicious and it is very healthy.
I'm putting togeather a budget for post covid immersion study and this is so helpful!
Regarding food, we saved a lot by going to shopping malls such as Aeon and Ario and eating from the food courts. $10 and a full set meal for two, be it tempura, ramen, omurice or baked food from bakeries or if we wanted to splurge, Genghis Khan.
Great content, I like this kind of video. It would be really cool to see the uncut version as well, even uploading it alongside the cut down edited version.
Good great vid mate
I've lived in sharehouses in Kawasaki and in Hiroo, while working in the center of Tokyo and I must say, living near central Tokyo was worth the extra 30,000yen/month, especially if you have to commute a long time otherwise. Not having to deal with 50 min train ride one way while rush hour, where you can barely breath, plus the waste of time....it's expensive, but it's also worth it. Especially as some companies do not pay your train ticket, sometimes it's same price whether you live far away + pay your train fare and living at a more convenient place.
Soo... you prefer the inner city?
Great suggestions! This is such an important topic to be discussing. I really enjoyed the video!
Very cool video, as always!
we should get ian and juri in here. they have the best money-saving tips for eating out and shopping :P
PS i love you shizuka
bring Max d Capo in!!
For those who like, regarding the bento discounts, there is an anime appropriately named Ben-to that realistically documents what happens irl during the time the discounts go out. /jk
Well, at least in my mind. :P
Food should be seen as an expense. True😂 Limiting your budget for food can really help with waste. Goes for all three of the major expense categories; food, travel and housing, have a strategy for each😀
My biggest tip at least for travelling is stay away from Akibahara lol. I spent $400 in one day >.>
Hey, can I ask? Is it possible to live with a small cat in a shared house?
Those who have less financial assebility in return gain further financial security ✌️ peace
I think a lot of the people who said food is expensive is American who get mini feast and each order. The rest are those who go to the restaurant with call people trying to draw your attention.
🎉🎊🎉
you can skip breakfast if you sleep in long enough
Yo I feel like I hacked a group Skype call, it's kinda weird ahahah
man, i love shizuka. i hope i will have a gf like her.
