Remembering things by association happens for me when I listen to music while making art; when I look back on specific details of my drawings I remember what song was playing, and it's different songs for different parts of the drawing!
I’m an autistic women, I watched Mean Girls as a teenager, and I always felt that it helped explain things that I didn’t understand about the other girls in my classes, like unspoken rules, and the way that they interpreted my behaviour. I always referred to Mean Girls as a dramatised “documentary” of what it’s like to be a teenage girl, and I watched it on DVD almost everyday 😆 I’d love it if you guys did a review on it from an autistic prospective. I might have to rewatch it now and write down what springs to mind 😆
As autistic people we are all unique in our ways it affects us .I have melt downs with loud children and large confusing crowds .and random people i dont know touching me it literally makes my skin crawl.
When I touch or feel sticky things like syrup, bandaids or stickers( and for stickers even seeing them will cause this) I will cycle thru the feeling of it being peeled off my skin over and over for hours which makes me wig out. Interesting enough slimy has no issues with me which is a good thing as I love slimy creatures like frogs and newts
Association is cool. Sometimes i'll be walking somewhere and then when I walk past a certain area, i'll just remember talking on the phone with someone about a specific topic while i happened to be walking there before. It's weird.
When a sound or texture physically effect the body, you might have a comorbidity or synesthesia! Yay! I can taste colors, certain electronic sounds feel like poprocks, scratchy paper noises make my skin hurt. It's a whole thing. In other news, well-laundered linen is the best fabric on the face of the planet. It changed how I feel about my clothes. Oh my gosh it's the best.
The reaction to a certain texture being something tickling your back is what my reaction was as a kid to the sound of whispering. Later on in life it sort of morphed into liking ASMR but sometimes I still get the back tickling sensation and it’s very unpleasant
OMG, yes! The thing about the youtube videos and games at about 8:10. That totally happen with me, too. If I re-watch the video, it happens in reverse, too, and I see images of the video game in my head. And, oh, geez. 13:30-ish. Not sure I can tell this concisely. There was a literature test in middle school where a true or false said something was "almost dangling" and I had to ask over the teacher because, in the book, it wasn't ALMOST dangling, it WAS dangling. They wouldn't clarify for me, so I said false. Got it wrong. Argued it and it got it marked right. But then, on the exam, the same question was there. So I asked over the teacher again and asked if it was the real answer that we'd discussed or the answer they had said was the answer. And again, they wouldn't clarify. So I said false again (because it was). And it was marked wrong. And the teacher wouldn't mark it right for me this time even though I argued that he had on the previous test and wouldn't clarify for me which he wanted this time around. (Again, this happened in middle school. I am in my mid-thirties and it still bothers me. I don't think it will ever not bother me.)
Eating M and Ms, you toss a few in your mouth and are distracted for just a couple seconds-- just long enough for the shell to begin to oxidize, then you go to bite down, your teeth barely miss one or two, and that oxidized shell suddenly goes SCREAMING IN A NANOSECOND across your teeth. For several seconds your whole face squeezes shut, your spine freezes, and you have a huge, freezing cold, nauseous, and involuntary shiver. Then the feeling takes several MORE seconds to FADE, and it feels like somebody just forcibly rebooted your brain.
I love how honest and real you keep your videos. Real relationships aren’t perfect and I like seeing that you two challenge each other and disagree sometimes,
As a kid when music from a movie plays in a car ride you yell what's happening in the movie while your parents have no idea what you're talking about. Example:" they're running, they're running"while to die for from the lion king is playing. ( aka the song that plays in mufasas death scene.)
Certain textures of sounds actually bug my teeth. Example: pencil on paper. I will only write with pen or certain mechanical pencil and hate when other people use pencil as well because the sound texture is so awful.
welp, visceral sensitive feelings while eating food? I cannot eat for the beat of me any type of hard cheese... I can eat Swiss (and I like it a lot), but give me a tiny tiny cube of hard cheese and I will freak out

Gross textures for me basically feel like my entire body has a spasm and a long shiver. Visually, it would be best showed by a glitchy visual.

I would also like to see a video about this!!
Being autistic is legit like moving to a foreign country when you haven't moved at all
That’s a skyrim shirt. That’s awesome!!
Like this video! I would love to see a video on movies you think are like autistics, like you mentioned! That would be great!
❤ mariah and whitney
You two talking about movies would be awesome.

I can relate. I often remember a specific part of an audio book I was on when I walk by an area.
I have a friend that reads my mind too and we're both on the spectrum
My back freezes up right in middle of my shoulder blades instead of the brain freeze everyone else tends to get.

Any mushy food like raw tomatoes, bananas and over cooked carbs makes makes me gag like no other thing
Yay! You're back! Love you guys!

Missed you guys!
Omg and please discuss mean girls and how it’s about being autistic 😂😂
My highschool prom. was great. That being said, it was an egalitarian small charter school.
Piano is percussion.
Also, I have gross texture sensory issues that make me shudder.
"She's no Whitney Houston though." -- The previous generation had to deal with Ethel Merman.
Hey guys! Super happy to see another one of these videos.
I would LOVE to go down the Mean Girls rabbit hole. I’ve never thought about it that way!

You are the only other person I've chime across who feels this way!!! For me, certain scraping sounds hurt my teeth!
@@rachelgoad4768 those too.
Me too!
It sounds like that.
