I’ve had mine for the past year and I couldn’t be happier! Very effective and easy to use, silica beads take only about an hour to dry and you’re good to go! There was no way I was going to haul my 400 lbs safe upstairs, so it’s in my basement where it can get pretty humid. When I travel I leave one behind in my safe and take the other with me. I got a great deal on Amazon: 2 for $40!
I am literally thrilled you did this video. I have been meaning to get dehumidifiers for my safes (multiple) and like you said, I don't want to plug anything in. These are ideal for my use. I have old milsurps that I might forget to clean after shooting, this will at least give me a fighting chance to get to cleaning them after a few weeks and not rust out the barrels AS FAST. Thank you for reminding me. I ordered the double before I even finished watching the whole video.
Very similar to Eva Dry sold at Home Depot. The plug is built in to the product to dry out the silica. Cost is only $19 to 29.99. I have multiple units. I live in SWFL. Humidity control is very important.
I’ve been looking at dehumidifiers and I think this is the one! Definitely not wrong about living in Florida and having enough humidity to feel like 16 Siberian husky constantly breathing in your face. Your channel is so helpful through and through and it’s helped me out several times as a recent gun owner. Keep the videos coming!! 🤙🏼
I just ordered the twin pack. Great review and I agree, I didn’t want to basically add a heater to an enclosed space Liberty 42 gun Revere in South Carolina
Just bought the triple one for $97 through your link. Looks way better than the EvaDry that I've used in the past. Glad to support you, keep up the good work.
@@FireStalker46 So far so good. I just recharge them when I notice the orange pellets turning dark (which is not that often, but more often in the winter).
I like the advice there's guns for the grandson in the back I have not had out for a long time even my grandpa's but the humidity device just got cleaned but tomorrow the guns are getting looked at .have a nice night 👍

This looks much better than my liberty safe dehumidifier. I dont have a liberty safe but I figured I'd try it. Same concept with the orange beads but this seems like a better design.
Get a dehumidifier that's big enough for your basement. Use that in the room your safe is in in conjunction with a heat rod and you'll be in good shape. If you live in a dry area you don't need to do all this.
If you don't have a water tight safe which most aren't, it's a waste. Any of the bead types dehumidifiers won't do anything because it just draws moisture in the safe. Very few safes have a door gasket now. They just have the heat expanding tape, which is nowhere near a tight seal.
I use 4 large silica gel packs in my safe and my House in Kentucky stays humid inside. I seal the door of the safe with gorilla tape and after opening 6 months to a year later the gel pack indicators are always still blue (below 30%). Very simple fix to what you are talking about and I've been doing it for years. costs nothing to take the tape off and replace it with new whenever I want to open my safe to go deer hunting or plinking.
@@Starbuckin That's works to. But I open my safe daily and I'm not a fan of tape on a $3k safe. I just buy water rated safes. How long did it take before you started to notice it working? Only ask because I bought this device and so far have not noticed a change after 4hrs. I have it in a gun safe that has a built in humidity detection.

I’ll check it out… I have the rechargeable box you mentioned. I was thinking to upgrade. That would be perfect
Thanks man!
Great video ordered 2
I'm getting really sick of all these people selling bunch of crap that you don't need
You said it doesn't take very long to recharge. Does that mean an hour, day, year?
Directions say 2 hours to recharge.
I need this i live in West Virginia and the humidity is about like Florida. Summer time 95%+ and winter 50%+ it sucks big time
I use vcd (vapor corrosion inhibiting) devices like Zerust vapor capsules.. No problem with corrosion. Humidity is only 40 or 50% here.
I hear that construction chalk works great, just put one chalk stick, (they're like 4" long by 3/4" thick) on each shelf, or 3 or 4 in bottom of safe.
I'll definitely get the two-pack but wish they had a four!!!!
is there a latch that I can hang off the hooks that I have underneith the shelves?
can you get extra elements or do you have to buy multiple double units with the base?

It's not easy being green.
If you dry your gels in the same room as your safe aren't you adding the moisture right back to the air? 🤔🤣
