- Here is the review , overview and output power dyno test of the Alpine 3544 oldschool car audio amplifier!
Continuos sinewave and burst tests done into 4 and 2 Ohms.
Power tests dynamically down to 1 Ohm per channel both channels driven.
This is a nice stereo car audio amp and i guess from early 90s, rated 120 Watts into 4 Ohms.
That amp had a nice amount of power for early 90s and i guess it was really expensive.

Thank you very much for your kind comment 😊👍 keep it old school 😎
@@audiokeller1975 Thanks. Still searching old Ford Granada/Consul V6 Coupe, so I could build a good vintage Alpine system in it. Yes, not period correct car, but I still regret selling my -73 Granada Saloon V6 2,6l. What a great car to drive.
Dashboard will be PITA to install good speakers, but I manage to install Focal 100KRS 3" midranges to my Saab 9-5, so no worries :-)
I have a 3552 and 3554 from the same series. They sound great. Thanks for the video!
Do you use them or are they part of a collection?
@audiokeller1975 The 3554 recently burned a output transistor, or mosfet, or fet, and a gate resistor, I think, Im no technician. It is still functional but one channel is out obviously. The 3552 is fully functional but the 12v positive terminal burned the plastic around it. I opened it up and found a broken solder joint where the + terminal interfaces with the board. I refloated that joint, and then decided to do all of the joints. Works flawlessly now. If I had a detailed schematic for the 3554 I would try to repair it. I suffer from mild red/green color blindness and sometimes can't discern which resistor value to use so a parts list and schematic would really help out. Neither are in use at the moment but I do plan on installing the 3552 in my 1997 Jeep Cherokee to power mids and highs for the front stage. I was going to use the 3554 for the rear stager, both in two channel mode @ 4ohms. Now I don't know what I'll do.
Absolutely one of my top few brands.... great videos keep em coming
Thank you! I will do my best 😊
Japp.... die Serie konnte musikalisch super überzeugen... 👍👍👍👍
great looking and sounding amplifier that made in japan aint no joke built to Blast
Wait till u find a alpine 3545 it's a power house
It’s near impossible to get one 🙁
Damn those things a beautiful, you can just tell they are special and majestic even if you knew nothing about them and set them next to other amps now, you can tell they are just mature and no nonsense built like tanks boring almost looking but beautiful and sleek. I just love amps like that I hate amps that look like six spec cars from the early 2000s and something from Pimp My Ride lmao yuck. 😊
3555 is king
I found a 3545 here in Germany for sale for ridiculous 1500 € 😳😳😳
I scored a 3555 for 20 bucks on marketplace a couple months ago! Not sure if it works but going to try it out soon. Do you have a video on how to setup your OScope to do these measurements?
No, it depends on what you want to test.
Do you happen to have any old A/D/S power plate amplifiers from the late 80s or early nineties
I never heard of them, is a/d/s the brand name?
Thanks been eyeing these old amps off for a while now, they are current hogs but actually very decent power love class AB, I know class D can sound good but but it's too sterile for me! Super interesting as always 😊
The current consumption is way lower if you operate the amp with music instead of sinewave input signal like I did in the test. 👍
