For story 1, the OP needs to stop giving everything they can for people who are ungrateful. Just going through a divorce is enough to say you can’t bake anything for the holidays this year. Oh man OP of the first story. I wish I had heard this sooner. I would have told you to make it as 'homemade' as possible. Flour - check. Sugar - check. Eggs - check. Vanilla - A couple of drops in a bag - check. Tell her it's a "DIY Hamper this year" to celebrate your divorce. The theme is "Newfound Independence!" and that's why the hamper will need to be made independently by her. Merry Christmas! That last story about the partner, reminds me of my best mates, now ex gf… she told me off for acting rude when I was ringing her to try find where my friend was cause my mum was on her death bed(turned out she had 1 month left in her)… but for her to say I was being rude, not making small talk, and being more polite while my mum was 4 hrs away who at the time was unknowingly to survive. But I never kept my mouth shut and said he was being I don’t even think Freud would of been able to help her 😂
#3 i personally watch reality TV specifically Jersey Shore mostly to calm my mind after long days at work. watching something simple is a GREAT mental relaxer.

Im sorry, but that last story is ridiculous. To me my best friend is someone I'm going to be honest with matter what, and he knows this. If I don't like his partner, he's gonna find out about it, and if I don't think they're healthy for them, I'm not gonna sugar coat it. They need to know my opinion as much as I need to know his opinion. If he doesn't like my partner it won't make me break up with them, but it'll help me to think and consider the flaws they point out and decide for myself if I need these aspects to be managed differently or not. Because if my partner can't get along with my loved ones it needs to be adressed. If in the end it's impossible for common ground to be made then fine, they won't hang out and I'll spend time with them separately, and I expect the same in turn, for them to consider my words and decide for themselves, if they can work on it amazing I'd love to help, if they can't than simply me and his partner will be kept separate, I can at least be satisfied knowing his partner makes him happy, even if I don't like them. But I will not spend time with them, walking on egg shells with my friend or their partner. I'm not interested in dealing with that. People don't need to change for my sake, if they don't want to they can simply stay out of my life, but I also don't need to tolerate people I don't like and aren't willing to change to accommodate me. And of course, the same applies inversely, if I'm not good for someone, and I appreciate you enough, I'm happy to change, but I won't change for just anyone, so if you can't stand me, leave, focus on you and I'll focus on me. It's simple as that. I expect open communication from all of my more important relationships, my best friend, my mother, and my girlfriend are at the top of that. And if I feel that isn't working out, then those relationships need to be fixed, or end, period.
