I believe the smaller barrel is for the Panther F (7.5cm). Since none of these were ever built, anything below the turret is speculation at best. The Panther II had an 8.8cm gun. The sprockets and Idlers were from the Tiger II and the tracks as well. There is a photo on-line of a Panther F turret on a Panther G hull. Nice review, thanks for posting.
