Imho, it's also awesome how this album sounds on vinyl or if listened in the exact track order.
If you like that kind of "wall of sound" type thing, you might like Devin Townsend's work, if you're not already familiar :) The end of his "Death of Music" give me chills because of how "thick" and epic the sound feels.

He sprang to mind for me too, I love his song 'True North' he did with Anneke van Giersbergen and how after the intro her voice comes in with what sounds like chiming harmonics creating an other-worldly effect before launching into the song proper that is full just like this Rolo Tomassi song. Great stuff by two great bands! 💓

God damn. This band is criminally underrated.
The last 1:05 of this song sends shivers down my spine! Eva's singing is absolutely immense and the music is beautiful.
This is my favorite album ever. I seriously mean that. Considering that my top 4 albums of all time are Mars to Sirius, Sunbather, Nier Gestalt, and .neon, this album perfectly fits in at number 1. Thank you so much for creating this.

God damn this makes me so fubbin happy. This sound is exactly what I've been looking for. I love how melodic it is while also being heavy as hell. The combination of distorted guitar, synth and melodic vocals has been slept on for way to long.
Outstanding. It takes bravery and skill to create a beautifully subdued yet impressively heavy track.
Not sure about taking bravery, but it does take skill and good songwriting.
The bravery comes from the fact most of Rolo Tomassi's fanbase follow them mostly for their extremely heavy post-hardcore/post-metal stuff. Doing an extremely shoegaze based song takes balls.
This album might be one of the best for 2k18.

One of the best album openers ever (I always lump this together with Towards Dawn). Production, vox, instrumentals... perfect. The whole thing is so full and spacious. "Time Will Die..." will be remembered as an all-time greatest album in 20 years. Give it time
I was watching LA Confidential and thought. "I remember Rollo Tomassi! Lets listen to some of their stuff."... SOOO Different from what they used to do!. But I love it. Went to see them back in the day like 2007 or something when they played with Meet Me in St Louis. Were amazing.
edit: Just listened to some of their other new stuff... they haven't changed.. haha. love it.

I have LOVED the last two albums. It's very emotional music with a hard edge at times. The riffs and energy combined with a wonderful sweetness and melody. So looking forward to the next album, this is 'best in genre' music for me.

4 years since I commented on this. They played this live in Brighton last night, it was fucking stellar. I felt it in my soul. Their evolution as a band, their musical art, is something I will never take for granted. I love this band. I got to meet them all, they signed the set list and everything. That's lasting and powerful. 🤍
