@@th3orist the grandstands were closed, everybody was on the inside of the track. I was next to the pagoda for the start but I went to some of the other events on the infield
Unfortunately, these new graphics are likely just for Indianapolis. This race (and the one later today) was streamed as part of the Porsche Together Fest at that track.
WTF! There is a NASCAR 4 time champion, hall of fame driver in the race and he barely even gets mentioned. I hold the broadcast team responsible for missing an incredible opportunity to elevate the visibility of this series by promoting the fact that Jeff Gordon is in the field. It is arrogant and absolutely absurd. No wonder these drivers struggle to get sponsorships. Here now is a big name driver in the field and no mention. It is not the racing. The racing is world class. It is the media and broadcast coverage that is so bad. If I am a business looking to invest in this sport I look at the coverage. if you can't promote that Jeff Gordon is in the field and create some excitement around that then you are not getting my marketing investment.
I've been a Rainbow Warriors fan since 1994 and I'll always be a #24 supporter, but we've got to be realistic here and admit that starting 22nd and finishing 22nd isn't the most exciting thing in the world to talk about if you're in the commentary booth.
When there’s a battle for the lead like that, why would they waste their time covering a back marker? They did a great job covering the world class racing. No offense to Jeff, it’s a big challenge to step into a brand new car and race competitively, but it doesn’t need to be sensationalized or overblown. If Jeff were picking off cars and running top 10 I’d agree with you, but that wasn’t the case.
This was not IMSA's production team and furthermore, we were quite fortunate to even get the feed to live stream it and share it afterwards on our digital channels (UA-cam, IMSA.com). However, we do greatly appreciate your feedback.
That was a bit harsh, but I would have liked to have known this was going to be streamed, at least. It would have been pretty easy to publicize on Twitter. Needless to say, IMSA got a new follow.
Gordon has had a great career, but suggesting they don't focus on the youngsters who are trying to further thier careers and instead on him. Is ridiculous and makes you look like a fool. These guys have battled all year to earn the top spots and coverage. Ole Jeff can get some camera time and mentions when he does something worth while in the car.
That was cool to see jeff back in the swing of things!
Only here to see Jeff Gordon the GOAT
I was here today, it was SO fun
you were? but where? there is no one on the grandstands, i just wanted to post the question why there were not spectators...?

Beautiful cars and sounds. Thank you Porsche. Thank you IMSA!
These cars are beautiful

I love you Jeff you are my favorite drive, but we all wanna see you race a sprint car!
13:19 inches! 48:20 less than inches 🤣
Even Porsches fall victim of the calamitous Turn 1 of Indy. It didn't even take long. Lap 1!
It's like monza haha
Love the new TV graphics ✨

@@eccentricgamer4111 got it, thanks for info
💐💐💐💐💐Congratulations 😍☺Canada 🇨🇦😍☺😍☺💐💐💐💐
Over/under on this being Jeff getting back into the swing of things for Le Mans?
I hope Jeff Gordon races at Sebring
Is the commentator a Geordie?
Use a NASCAR-style rolling start rather than standing start
