The song actually uses a capo on 2nd fret so while it sounds like an A it’s actually a G relative to the capo. Also to match the studio recording exactly, the high e string needs to be dropped to d and left ringing open on every chord (or alternatively you could capo just the top 5 strings at the 2nd fret and leave your high e string open and not capo’d and get the same result)
But thank you for sharing your arrangement because it definitely works to emulate the original key of the song without using a capo, and is another way to perform it. I just wanted to point out that this wasn’t how the song was originally recorded.
If you don’t have a capo and are comfortable with playing and singing it in a lower key, you can perform it using G chord to D chord to A minor without using a capo and just know that it will sound one step down from the original key but the advantage to doing it this way is you learn the exact chords used the way the song was written.
Here is a video of Coldplay performing the song in 2002 around the time of release. You can see Chris Martin strumming G chord to D to A minor. Although it sounds like he has his capo on the 1st fret instead of 2nd in this live version. Probably because it’s easier for him to sing in that key…

Great tutorial. It is a bit distracting that you are slightly out of tune. It may be an intonation issue cause it is most noticeable on the open E chord.
