Yo! thanks for the information that you are providing, you are giving me insights into the real deal world of music licensing placements.
This is fire 🔥Jeff! Thanks for the look over your shoulder! I’m taking notes. You teach very well. Congrats on your recent and upcoming placements!
What a great Q. The tutorials are the best!
The way you break everything down. Love the way you broke down your mixing section thank you so much for your time you're very talented
thank you for this. so many channels focus on how to get syncs instead how to write the actual music. subbed!
Hey Jeff this is dope. Im a rookie in sync music. And Im getting into this genre alot (epic orchestral). Thanks for this Im learning alot.
congrats on the placement.. also this goes hard! thanks for the vid bro
Thanks for this video. I'm not new at songwriting, but I am new to the placement aspect of it. This is great work and it confirms that I'm on the right track for sports music. I have several beats of this style (including one entitled "NFL Wannabe", because I'm a football freak and an NFL placement is my goal) and hearing amazing and successful ones as this certainly helps. I'm hoping it's not too late for March Madness submissions and unsure where to go for those specifically, since again, this part of the process is new to me. But I love the videos and look forward to more content. Thanks!
You’re welcome! Every library contact I have is through Taxi and the 52cues community. However, you can check out @clintmusic1 channel and he has a lot of great resources about connecting with libraries. Wishing you the best!
Thanks for this Jeff... It's interesting seeing you work in Cubase as I use Logic, but the same principles apply and it was nice to see you working though the 'logic' of your thoughts without me having to over analyse how you were doing it in the specific DAW. Loads of great advice here that I encourage anyone else to follow. Cheers buddy :)
Great Video 🎉 Curious, what was your loudness level for the mastering? LUFS and RMS. Thanks again for a detailed video. Blessings 🙌 😊
Thanks Angelina. For this particular library they require cues at -12 LUFS integrated.
Appreciate you sharing this brother! Clean sound and I can definitely understand the structure. Well done!
Question: Can you talk a little bit about the packaging of your submission? (i.e. did you have to send stems, loops cleared etc.)
Thanks! This particular library requires the unmastered full and alt mixes only at -6. This is the only library I work with that does their own mastering. My library that works with CBS Sports requires mastered Full & Alt mixes along with a :30 sec cut down at -12 Lufs integrated. Any others I have worked with have only required mastered full & alt mixes. Most want .wav files at 24/48 but I've worked with a few that want .aiff at 24/48. Also each one has their own loudness requirements. Hope this helps!
@@JHBBM Good to know. I typically mix to -6DB (For headroom) and master at -12 LUFS for streaming. That's interesting they master their own tracks too. Excellent!
Lost me at the routing, but im tryin to learn...thank you sir
I’m happy to answer any questions you have. I don’t quite recall what I was talking about as to routing but let me know what you didn’t understand.
🔥🔥🔥
Thank you for this, I'm from Baltimore and have been wanting to make a Ravens theme and try to submit it
Jeff, great music! Can you do a mix & mastering video on one of your tracks?
Unfortunately this is all moot since AI is going to kill the sync and music for commercials industry. I’ve been successfully composing music for commercials since the 80’s but the writing is on the wall.
@@JHBBM If there are alternatives… One: Sound design. At the moment AI doesn’t seem to be able to abstract sound - wether music or contemporary sound manipulation - to film/visual sequences. Sound design as apart from Foley is extremely out of the remit of AI algorithms so far. Two: Totally non generic original and innovative music that juxtaposes different genres. If you think of how Beck creates his music traversing a whole bunch of disparate styles to make something unique then that’s how we can - for a short while - reclaim a certain equilibrium despite the algorithm.
Thank you for these walkthroughs.
One thing its really helped me with is my confidence about my own work and that "the problem" isn't my creativity or myself, but just a temporary absence of connective resources. You're really sweet to show this the way you do. I hope one day we get to cross actual paths and have a coffee and pet some dogs.
Keep going Jeff!!
Thanks HBTS and I’m always happy if I can help or encourage someone! I think we all go through it from time to time.
