    Shiann is entitled to her opinion and I can not knock her if this is how she truly feels. However, I do not share her opinion because from the vlogs that I watch (Peter Lloyd World, TxT track time, Coaches Desk and a few others) I think they give very good coverage to the Jamaican athletes. I don't know which vlogs she is watching for her to feel under appreciated, but we love you Shiann, you are beautiful and talented, we pray for and support you and we also expect lots more great improved performances from you as you progress in your career. So please put your mind at ease and rest assured that you are loved and appreciated.

    Good for you Peter Lloyd, once in a while I disagreed with you, but in this case you are absolutely correct, and it's your videos that introduced young Jamaican athletes that I haven't heard about or familiar with. I think you are doing a great job for your country's athletes. I just love track and fields competitions, I sometimes defended all athletes no matter where or what countries they come from. Sometimes supporters are so passionate about their countries athletes that at times when there is a photo finish then they just want to ignore the clock and go by sight. LOL. But keep up the good work.

    Yes am 63 and I love track and field. Never run in my life. Love all country runners when they do great. But I notice that for real. Our Jamaican people big up other countries and not their own. Even the reggae artists when they are performing in Jamaica. The people stand up like they are soldiers, but let one from America preforming, dem jump over each other. American station big up the American track and field people. No Jamaican on there channel. And maybe that’s why they didn’t do good in Paris. Am glad she release it because it would stay in her and fester. Some reporters are sell out. Peter you are doing a great job. I listen to you and you go across the board, talk about every athlete’s. Big up your self, all the time, from Texas.

    She's absolutely 💯, i heard so called sports journalist picking on athletes because they didn't make a public announcement about their injuries, and that they're not participating in the Diamond League. I'm yet to see an American or other country's athletes giving details of their injuries. The fact that they said that they couldn't perform because of injury that should be enough. Some of the athletes went to the Olympics with injuries and were hoping to still be able to perform, unfortunately they weren't able to after the physio made an assessment. Some Jamaican are way too emotionally invested in track and field, they're blinded by the fact that athletes do sustain injuries and are allowed to not participate and further cause season/career ending injuries. Many people see track and field as entertainment and bragging rights, but it's the athletes profession, and not one of them trained so hard for the big moments and not give of their best. It's disgraceful and disgusting to read some of the disrespectful and ungrateful comments posted by some Jamaicans.

    Thank you Shiann, for speaking out so loud and clear! Peter Lloyd, her comments were directed straight to your head! Be a man, and own up to the criticism. Seems like you conveniently didn't hear the part where "she called out Jamaican bloggers for overindulging in coverage about American athletes". Many of us, here on your channel have called you out repeatedly for your obsession with the American athletes while ignoring the Gems of Jamaica. The records are there to prove this. You have been unresponsive instead of working with your audience to move in a more sensible direction. Your talk doesn't match your actions. So, for you to appear now, pretending that Shiann's comments were meant for other people and not you, is awful and disingenuous! Everyone who has visited your channel and read the comments knows this to be true. Just because the majority of people will remain silent, should not be taken as a free pass for you to run in the direction opposite to your Jamaican people.

    As A Black American I'm going to say this. If she's wants coverage on an international scale CLEAN THE ACCENT UP. I can not say this more than I do. Jamica has talent but if you want to appeal to a world beyond your own you have to clean the accent up. Your voice is your biggest promotional tool if you can not be understood you can not be heard. When I click on a video to hear a Jamican atheleat talk l give them one sentence. If I can only make out every two words I move on. It's that simple.

    • @audreydavis45
      @audreydavis45 9 днів тому +5

      @sionrouge There is nothing to clean up with the Jamaican accent. English is our national language and many of us are very well spoken. The issue is that patois, a local dialect, is spoken among ourselves informally. People should know how to adapt to their audience and adjust their speech accordingly. Unfortunately, some of them find it difficult to switch to standard English when that is required because they don't practice it enough in their everyday life or they are not well educated.

      @@audreydavis45 As A person who has been in product marketing and product development for most of My professional life. clarity is a must when addressing an audience. As I've said, I'm a Black American so addressing the world when speaking has never been an issue for most of us. Jamaican athleats have to understand they are the product and they must sell the product. Place the best foot forward when selling at all times.

      Listen who ever you are. English is our first language. Am living in America for 35 years and I still can’t understand some, especially the one in the south. So you telling me that African, Haitian, other West Indies and Europian, must change for your ear. Bolt didn’t and when you all see , it’s like you all want more of him. Go drop some castor oil in your ear. Please. I could say but.

      @@audreydavis45 True, when the Africans speak in their language/their accent they dont care if outsiders understand because they are addressing their own people, Jamaicans cannot force Americans to change their accent to please anyone

      I don't hear anything wrong with her accent. That interview she did, she spoke clearly. However, on her post, because she's addressing her countrymen/women she spoke in Jamaican dialect. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that. She gave a good account of herself in her interview.
