I love Delia’s Xmas series. Mum and I used to watch the recording every Xmas, to help get us in the mood. Still have her book and make her pudding today.
I remember watching this TV series when it was first shown over 30 years ago 👍😁 time goes so fast. I was always keen to see her kitchen and her garden in the background lol. Classic series 👌
@@susanfryer1616 love Mary Berry also. During spring lockdown. Bought couple of her new books. Delias is worth a try. Brings back so many memories. I usually make after Halloween each year. 6 or 7 weeks out. Good luck 👍 😁
Thank you for this - the 1990 Delia Christmas programmes were just the best ever, and the music from The Fairer Sax is so nostalgic! I did manage to record all 6 programmes a few years back, but now find I am unable to play them back as my tv provider no longer supports the channel they were shown on, grr! I thought I had them forever. I wonder why they’re not shown more often? They should be!
i remember watching this when i was 5 my parents had it on video tape id e on the floor watching the full version over and over im 29 now and a chef hahaha she was my idol
You might be interested to know (if you didn't already), that Delia Smith entered a convent to become a nun but her cooking was rather too good for 'humble convent food", so she left.
I made this pudding for my family this Christmas, I'm 25 and it was my first time cooking (and tasting) home made Christmas pudding. My folks live all over so I put a video of me stirring the mixture on the family group chat so everyone could make a virtual wish! The only trouble is that it was so good its ruined the microwave version forever :)
When Delia made this programme I doubt she ever thought her pud would be virtually stirred across the interent by family members!! Lovely story and I agree with you, this pud is a winner every year 🙂
Thank you for posting this. I used to come to UA-cam every year on Christmas pudding day, but a few years ago it disappeared! I’m so glad I can watch it again before I get baking, thank you and may your Christmas be bright! ❤️
Thank you for posting!, All the Delia Smith Christmas 1990 used to be on YT, but they have disappeared and you can't even buy them on DVD anywhere, so sad :(
The UK food channels stopped airing this series a few years back instead opting for back to back Jamie Oliver and Nigella… Luckily you can still buy this from the BBC and Amazon UK.
Can anyone help. I’m boiling it for 8 hours (as I don’t have a steamer), which others have told me should be okay. But on Christmas Day I won’t have the hob space to steam for another 2 hours. Will microwaving it just to heat it up be okay?
