I was working at men arena when they came to play. I couldn't see them but I could hear them perform. They sounded so good when I went home I bought their album come around sundown.
Great interview. So refreshing to hear an interviewer that knows his subject and likewise great to see the artists relaxed and humble (rather than simply trying to peddle their latest product).
one of the greatest moments of my life was watching KOL playing Fans in London, as the sun set over Hyde Park. just incredible. and, it has to be said, the new single is awesome.
I'm the youngest of three brothers and to watch the dynamic between Caleb and Nathan is so amusing. Caleb is such a middle child, so confident, yet so insecure. I think Caleb is awesome but Nathan is handling those passive aggressive shots from his younger brother with class, you can tell he wants to punch his face out though.
Came on here to listen to acoustic Talihina Sky, so I agree with you Caleb. I love the feeling that he has about his own songs that are "hits", and I imagine there's a significant portion of his fans that have been through their entire journey that feel the same about those singles. They give a good interview! 👏🏻 👍🏻
So true, even though the singles are just as great, I always find I leave them to the radios to play and listen more to the other awesome 'under the radar' tracks on the record.
The radio killed Sex On Fire & "Use Somebody" for me. I totally adore many album tracks like "California Waiting" & Trani from YAYM and BOTT is such an amazing album to listen to continuously. My fav is "True Love Way" KOL FOREVER
I thought it was funny when they mention now fans listen to their deeper stuff like "Cold desert" and "Milk". Not bragging but I've always been into those two songs in particular and many others people don't know. Again not bragging, I just get a different vibe from the songs that arent hits. They feel and sound nicer to me. I think they themselves should be the hits cause they are amazing songs.
Hopefully they play "Beautiful War" at some point while they are touring before the album. "Best song they've written" "With Or Without You Moment" are some pretty bold statements.
enjoy rn bc - this is as good as its gonna get probably gonna be as god - as its ever gonna get beautiful war - on the same page - as use somebody u got that rock thing down capturing emotion
What's your point? Big commercial hits make you check out a bands back catalogue? Caleb and Nathan both said that it's not about the singles. It's not about the big commercial hits. Most KOL fans agree (I think) that Milk, Knocked up, Arizona, Trani, Cold Desert etc. are more important to real fans than the 2 or 3 massive commercial hits. Whether they raise the profile or not, it's not *just* about the big commercial hits.
"I would listen to 'Milk' five times in a row before you would listen to 'Sex On Fire' twice" - Nathan Followil Ignoring the gramatics... These guys totally get it. They understand who their true fans are and the songs and music that inspire us. Milk, Arizona, Cold Desert & many more, are the backbone of my nightly KOL playlist. It's very, very far from being their big commercial hits.
I am far too excited about this album, which means i will have to find something really entertaining to do until september comes to keep my mind off it or I'll go crazy
lol am I the only person who thinks it's weird that the interview is much done without eye contact because of clunky microphones.. maybe a phone has the same affect after all :P

Arizona is my favourite song in the whole world, it's fantastic that they finally gave it some minutes of recognition.
Is it me or does Zane Lowe ask the most insightful questions ever? I love his interviews!!!
Great interview. So refreshing to hear an interviewer that knows his subject and likewise great to see the artists relaxed and humble (rather than simply trying to peddle their latest product).
I love how Caleb talks about his wife and how he takes care of her. So lovely.
Finally an interviewer who knows what he's talking about. Good Job!
I'm also happy that Arizona was mentioned...that was my 1st dance song with my husband at our wedding x
one of the greatest moments of my life was watching KOL playing Fans in London, as the sun set over Hyde Park. just incredible.

Please come to Japan from the bottom of the heart.
This has restored my faith in the true Kings! They haven't lost their roots. Glad to hear they are still keeping it real.

I really liked Super Soaker. It sounded like a "modern day" Aha Shake Heartbreak song.
So true, even though the singles are just as great, I always find I leave them to the radios to play and listen more to the other awesome 'under the radar' tracks on the record.

It's always Caleb and Nath in and interview or Jared and Matthew.. I want an interview with Caleb and Jared!
I'd love to hear both versions of beautiful war
Hopefully they play "Beautiful War" at some point while they are touring before the album. "Best song they've written" "With Or Without You Moment" are some pretty bold statements.

Zane low knows his shit
It is crazy to see Caleb so talkative
forth coming means their upcoming or next record.

@TonyWoodcocksPerm it wasn't me but I'd hope it was for the interviewer.
check out THEGROUNDWILLSHAKE - Miss Serene - first single
Sounds like Young Folks by Pete Bjorn and John
where can we hear beautiful war???
Shortest 21 minutes of my life!
Caleb sounds like such a cute husband
"I would listen to 'Milk' five times in a row before you would listen to 'Sex On Fire' twice" - Nathan Followil
Ignoring the gramatics...

Zane Lowe didnt even know mechanical bull is their 5th album...Ya world class MasterNick
It was there 6th
Holy shit I have the same shirt as Nathan
Tonight
I am far too excited about this album, which means i will have to find something really entertaining to do until september comes to keep my mind off it or I'll go crazy
"an album is an album at the end of the day, from start to finish" Zane "how low can you go " Lowe
glad we can see their faces and not huge microphones....
they were raised pentecostal. have you seen their documentary?
art of making music - drives you
5;54
did you find it anywhere? ive had a look but no luck.
I never see zane sitting on his show.
What Nathan says at 19:24 to 19:35 ?
is it not there sixth?
if there wasn't sex on fire or use somebody, it would take much longer for me to discover Aha Shake Heartbreak album and a lot more great stuff.
good interviewers tend to do that some of these guys ask the most obvious boring repetitive questions zane actually likes rock music
what did caleb said that his wife ate?? :D
Is Zane Lowe Australian? Great interview, I'm very jealous.
@Spiral Architect we have disowned him over a decade ago since hes a total pilloc.
lol am I the only person who thinks it's weird that the interview is much done without eye contact because of clunky microphones.. maybe a phone has the same affect after all :P
Love Caleb's honesty about his least favourite songs. I hate them too!
I know, and it's super funny that they talk about it openly! They try and please us all in the end.
private moments - turn it into the biggest song
complains she's doesnt write enough songs about her
with own studio - creativity more free flowing -
i'd be more like that guy who didn't budge when they played Sex On Fire while the rest of the crowd's jumping to it...
Why is Zane sounding like a member of Gunit?
What song is beautiful war? Wtf
KOL really don't like to be known by supersoaker
he hates what they did at the time not actually hate the songs.
nope still no joy finding it!
Bratwurst, a German sausage :)
i dont think thats exactly it
gyy
O, I love bratwurst :P
