    Freddie Mercury used to have parties and made all his friends watch Prince videos because he admired him so much! Corey Taylor from slipknot cried when Prince passed away. So many so called greats loved him. He was a musician’s musician. People who appreciate great music loved him because they knew he was a genius 💜

    Prince was like the 8th Wonder of The World, he was unique and totally followed his own path ... "Condition of The Heart" on that same album is a Masterpiece, check it out.

    Your dad's wisdom transcends time and metaphors. As someone who's experienced trauma nd abuse in life I commend him for how he's taken power back and found his rythm In his modality, that allows his ideas to fluidly express. He's a musician himself, and his cadence and timing is like that of a musician - due to his own personal legend - like no other. Respect and love him. Your a stoic version of him, and, Alot of that presence and stillness is because of what he protected you from. You're dad is the definition of cool, seriously; intelligence, healing, and open mindness is cool; giving someone props because he's confident in himself is cool. Loving his son is cool. As cool as a prince song that brings you and him together.

    “Was it a boy when you wanted a girl?”
    Me in 1995:
    Dammit, Prince get out of my head!
    I finally got my lil diva in 05 lol.
    Foo Fighters covered this for the tribute in 2020 and I loved it …and that ain’t right easy.

    POP LIFE IS A GREAT SONG, FUN FACT HE RECORDED AROUND THE WORLD IN A DAY BEFORE PURPLE RAIN

  • @mitchellbanks34
    @mitchellbanks34 Рік тому +4

    That sound bite near the end is actual audio from a concert he did in 1981 in his earlier years when he was opening for The Rolling Stones and Prince comes out with his band wearing his bikini briefs and thigh high leggings with his trench coat singing about “Do Me Baby” and he got booed off the stage. They called him a f***ott, a ni**er, all kinds of shit. The insertion of that sound bite is like a middle finger to those who doubted him and there he was on top of the world just months after “Purple Rain”.

    What a good dad! Teaching the babies about great artists and songs. That Prince rabbit hole is deeeeep! Standouts for me are LITTLE RED CORVETTE, KISS, CREAM, LET'S GO CRAZY, RASPBERRY BERET, PURPLE RAIN, MATTER DOESN'T MATTER, 1999...

    I couldn’t believe you could listen to this on the radio at the time. I had already had been listening to Stg. Peppers many years as a kid into records and Prince was the only artist who was reaching for a special kind of genius. ‘1999’ was my first “adult” record I had bought as 13 year old.

      Apollonia left after Purple Rain, she was there "only" to replace Vanity for the movies and the albums.

      @@thomasrosendahl2783 people I knew around the Bay Area where they are from (she and her brothers) used to make fun of her because they said her brothers were the one with the real talent, but she got all the attention - I always thought "she seems pretty talented to me, what's the problem." Perhaps jealousy...

    I've been a Prince fan, since 1982, when I bought my best friend the album 1999 for his birthday, and then a week later borrowed it forever. I'm not saying, that there's anything wrong with this song, but it is far from one of his best, and I think it gained some undeserved popularity, because it was played on the radio so much. For the younger people who don't know, back in the 80s the only way you heard a song is if you heard the album, or the song was played on the radio. Anyway, I don't intend to be critical of your Channel, or anything like that. I enjoy your reactions. I'm hoping you'll dive into some of the great songs on his albums. Especially, songs from his early albums. Dirty Mind, Controversy, 1999.
