2024 "Uketide" Tunes - Part IV

This is the last of my solo (or serious!) Christmas songs for the season, and it's from my living room. Fitting. I'll Be Home for Christmas, written by Kim Gannon and Walter Kent, has a natural melancholy, which works for anyone who is far away from home. But, this was originally written in 1943 as a way to honor World War II soldiers who definitely wouldn't be home for the holidays. It was first sung from their point of view by Bing Crosby.
