The disappearance of the thicc fairies is enough to make Legends inferior to Origins.
@@elcatrinc1996 Well, normally I love the archetype of barbarian warrior women, but Barbara is thin as a twig what makes her a caricature. And she's pretty forgettable for a caricature.
for someone without lungs skelly was hitting those notes
14:17 the song is a reference to a scene in Oceans 12 where a French thief steals a gem
You singing sexbomb absolutely made my day, THANK YOU AND GREAT VIDEO AS ALWAYS!
Dang it, I shouldn't have scrolled down just as the credits finished...
@@Suffyringg I mean, the problem was that I got spoiled just slightly early... I was still listening when I scrolled down...
The Sex Bomb rendition was an unexpected yet welcome surprise. Hoping for a "Can't Help Falling in Love" test animation to be discovered next.
Man, Rayman legends has a place in my heart, it was the first game i did 100% after replaying the entire thing 5 times, it still my favorite platform game.
And you're not wrong about people remembering the good and forgetting the bad, because the bad isn't God awful, it's just forgettable.
I've never played origins, but because of Legends your Origins video hit me with a huge wave of nostalgia because of the music.
I'll probably play Origins sometime and see that it just does things better, but Legends will always have a place in my heart
You cannot wear a blue jacket and sing sex bomb without expecting us to

Listen, Folks, just because he's fat, that doesn't mean he isn't sexy.
I dunno about you guys, but his wholesome rendition of Sex Bomb was alluring. That cute little dance of his got me vibin' to the music with him.
Anyone lucky enough to be dating him has a real tiger in the bedroom.
He's the omega chad. Someone who has enough confidence in themself not to need to compensate for any shortcomings. What you see is what you get, and what I see is fabulous.

He may not have lungs, but he got fleshy legs!
The biggest mistake they perhaps made was not bringing back the nymphs. Make of that what you will.
So your Rayman video prior came into my recommended feed, and I am glad to have happened upon it. Definitely sticking around to see more.
singing skeleton in my UA-cam video essay? hell yeah brother
Is this a video essay? Just seems like an old school review to me
The slight lyric change to make the song infinitely better is appreciated
@@ASkeleton it took that long?!? The old lyrics are uncomfy as hell you managed to shift it back to smooth
@@ASkeleton yeah tbh putting the lyric "Your mine" is hard to do without making it creepy and they didn't cook with it so your version is much better not to mention you sound like you are putting your heart into it while the original just sounds so creepy for some reason
I’ve always had a soft spot for rayman legends as it was one of my favorite games I played with my friends growing up
It can be pointed out, that legends looks shiny, but to me the shine gives more immersiveness into the level, the multilayered background, the atmosphere!
And the music... God am I thankful, that the boss ost didnt get originified and gave each world final level their own character
I EXPECIALLY LOVE MECHANICAL DRAGON! OH MY GOD HE IS SO COOL AND HIS MUSIC... SHEFS KISS
Maybe he is easy, but holy crab he looks good while getting his lollipop gem cracked
Legends just feels like a different breed from origins... Like any game in rayman series, having their own plusses and minuses instead of being "origins, but worse in many aspects", "gold coated origins lite" or smth
What a godly singing voice for a skeleton
I remember playing this game with my brother on the 360 all the time! The music levels were the best and we still reference them to this day
this is a damn good day~! i got finished installing my new air conditioner for summer, and now one of the funnest content creators on youtube gives us a new video, iv missed your face skelle-bro
Unfortunately, i never got the chance to have a rayman game as a kid, but my god did i played demos nonstop. Thnaks to you señor skeletor im pulling my 360 out of its grave to relive those fun memories with rayman. 😢. Then im going to watch the cow scene just to feel sick and cry to sleep seeing my cool childhood friend being disgrace
You can pick up Origins on Steam for just 5 bucks right now. Save yourself the hassle of whipping out an old console
I had the whole thing and I still do! I loved it a ton as a kid... and still do! I should play it again. It's been a few months...
Mansion of the Deep is my favorite level by far. It nails the theme of its world and executes it perfectly, without any of the unfun light puzzles with Murphy like in The Deadly Lights. Not to mention how fun it is to speedrun.
A new skelly video just made my weekend, and I haven't even watched it yet.
Edit: Just watched it, I was wrong, it was better than expected!
Rayman legends is peak
The weird thing about the Rayman remix of Eye of the Tiger is that it doesn't use a mariachi guitar. It uses a Spanish guitar. It's more of a fusion of genre ideas, which is pretty much the norm for video game music. And those chiptune remixes left me wanting for more as well, especially since I had heard much better chiptune music on NES (Silver Surfer's soundtrack makes me forget NES has only 4 audio channels). Maybe the composer was just not that familiar with the square and triangle waves, I dunno.
Missed the premier, but im ready for another kick ass video
Wow this video is bone rattlingly good
I completely agree, the quicksand and invasion levels were the best part of the game. Super fun, wish more of that was in legends
I wasn't expecting to hear Sexbomb-thank you and congratulations on such a big milestone!
Oddworld next mate, it would be perfect for your style of comedy.
Trust me it'll be worth the money.
I'd be up for oddworld! Perhaps Zeno Clash too. Another very underrated series set in a world full of freaks and monsters with a lot of history to it. Has inspirations from lesser-known prehistoric animals (like the entelodont) and medieval monster art, like that of Hieronymus Bosch or the Drolatic Dreams of Pantagruel.
Zeno Clash 1 is around five hours, ZC2 is around... I believe twelve, and the 2023 prequel Clash: Artifacts of Chaos is around fifteen to sixteen, i think.
I especially warmly recommend Clash: AoC.
I think the GamePad stuff is decently fun and is a new way to change up the gameplay, but I only really engaged with the Wii U version of the game and when I tried the Switch game, I was controlling both Murphy and Rayman at the same time, so it didn't come off as much of a problem. I especially like the creative levels they use him in like to block light detection in the spy world or the fast-paced levels that he is featured in too. However, too much of the game is about Murphy and the game fails to find enough innovative ways to use him to dedicate so many levels to him. The shooter levels from Origins were definitely better than this. One thing I will say is that the music levels are such a cool concept that it kinda makes up for that short coming. Mario Wonder a recent 2D platformer had music levels similar to Rayman, but Rayman's levels were often so much more fun and interesting to me! If we ever get another Rayman game, I hope they do a "best of" sort of thing, where they fixate on all of the best and most fun design elements of the Rayman games while maybe introducing a new element or 2. Where they make new music levels, new shooter levels, etc.
I just wanted to finish by saying that the game exudes creativity as much as it can and tried to refrain from the generic trappings many other uninspired 2D platformers and it succeeds with flying colors. Every world has its own story to tell in some way and I do think the designers put a lot of care into this world even if the game's presentation doesn't always sell that idea.
A skelly video when i wake up? amazing keep the content up this video was amazing and the sexbomb singing is hilarious
ALERT! Origins is on sale on steam for $5 until July 11
This video is charming as fuck! You have a great personality man, keep up the good work my brotha!
I 100% this game as a kid, it took me a while but I had so much fun doing it since when I was a kid I had so much patience since I didn’t have much else to do and I didn’t really have access to the internet so I would never be spoiled as a kid. I unfortunately have no evidence of this since the console broke.
The only Rayman thing I played was raving rabbits cause my friends had it on PC but I don't know what it is, when I see you do some deep dive to a game I never played or seen I am like “maybe I could give it a try” its just a nice fresh air when someone cares more for playability, story and small details instead of “wow :O this looks like a movie and I am starting to smell my graphics card”
I'm pretty sure the first "Rayman" game I plaeyd was Raving Rabbids 2, except either the CD was broken or my PC was complete garbage, because the only mini-game that didn't crash the game or was a black (but technically functional) screen was Hot Potato. :/
that ending was pure art
Happy to see a new promising creator, keep up the good work!
i remember playing the fuck out the music stage at the walmart kiosk

You deserve so many subs! Your confidence is incredible and I turned notifications on so I don’t only watch your Rayman videos!
As someone who enjoyed Legends quite a lot back when it was new, I do definitely have to give credence to your criticisms; I had honestly all but forgotten about Murfy until you brought him up here, a testament to what a negligible impact he had on the experience. One can only wonder how differently the title might have turned out if Ubisoft hadn't made the incredibly ill-fated decision to initially hitch its wagon to the Wii U, though obviously all the other issues comprise a whole separate kettle of fish.
The main department where I have a significantly divergent recollection is the visuals: while Origins looked great in a lot of ways it was the first deployment of the UbiArt tools and in some areas it felt to me like the team was still getting used to them. One I popped Legends in, however, I recall myself drinking in the artwork and thinking "man, they nailed it this time". Obviously that's not something that can be judged completely objectively, but if nothing else it certainly struck me back in the day; one can only wonder how a contemporary replay might land with me, but as you note I'm not exactly chomping at the bit to deal with UPlay in this day and age.
Always a pleasure Skelly, whether gaming or singing; hope you have an enjoyable summer ahead!
I feel the level themes aren't as creative or attractive though. Like the first level is the medieval one which is as basic as it gets, and the one after is the Bog which is neat but a lot of that sickly muted green. Fiesta is a downgrade, and the myths/hercules/whatever one was pretty cool at times.
The backgrounds in Legends are fantastic though, absolutely much better than the first games's.
@@onimaxblade8988 That's a fair take, since Legends largely stuck to a more focused fairy tale/mythology theme, as opposed to Origins' more surreal, whimsical settings. Just in raw terms of how skillfully the artists rendered everything, however, I'd definitely call Legends a decided step up (which, again, kind of stands to reason since they'd had more experience with the toolset).
Two great videos about Rayman as me hooked on your content.
And stuck for the long haul
I remember playing both Origins and Legends. Origins always stuck in my head more, but I never really considered why. This explained perfectly, thank you.
probably because the music was fire. My favourite ones are the jibberish jungle theme and the water level theme i forgor the name of but in sea of serindipidy where the singers come in and go do do da da
The computer duster bit got me laughing so hard i had to pause the video just to take a breather. Also your rendition of sex bomb at the end was fantastic, thank you.
The ending of the video is just proof that this skeleton is one of the truest rayman fans of all time.

Wow, I am old.
The music in origins alone makes it better than legends
Hard disagree, "madmans creation", the one race theme from first world, 20000 lums under as a whole are peak
now that is how you make a 10k special!
19:21 nice touch that you let globox still have his show
Yeah, i agree, the music levels are the only thing i truly remember of this game (aside from my little crush on Barbara)
You guys think somebody awakened their inflation fetish thanks to this games?
Well when I googled some assets for the video one of the top search results was "Rayman Legends princess inflation"
Hey! Glad I am not the only one who had a crush on Barbara as a kid! I was not the only weird one, it seems! Still my favorite character, even now.
"Madmans creation", the mechanical dragon ost and boss itself live rent free in my head from the moments I reached that level
Pure KINO of a bossfight
Btw Barbara feels to me more like a fun and cool (at least in kiddie ages) character that you grow to have a parasocial connection to, whereas the nymphs firstly catch you by fanservise, but only then take you a while to learn their character and appreciate them more.
Those two types of companions feel unique and distinct from each other, which feels refreshing, when you play the games back to back
this game is so special to me. its my childhood game and i remember plaing it with my dad a ton. also great vid!
(Ray)Man, I think your videos are awesome! Good pacing and great humour! Subscribing right now. Hope to see more amazing content from a fellow skeleton such as yourself.
20,000 lums under the sea has got to be my favorite world.
14:16 I believe this area is supposed to be a reference to that one scene in Oceans 12 where a thief has to do a literally dance in order to avoid the security lasers. Its a more sped up version of the song used in it
Thanks for showing that Nestea skeleton commercial, hadn’t seen that in years. Truly captured the feel of 2024 heatwaves. Also, those filter levels were hell to complete on the PS Vita.
So you're saying you had a... bad time?
This is Huggbees without crack. I love it! Keep it up Mr one skeleotonson
That guy on the bench during the song looks like Krimson Rogue...
Hey! Love the video. I actually discovered you off of this video rather than your origins one. Either way, great content! I love legends to death, and it's really interesting to hear someone who doesn't care for it (it seems like all everyone ever does is suck it off lmao). The Murphy stuff, slower gameplay in some parts, and it being a ubisoft game never bothered me, but I can see why they dampened your experience. Anyway, keep up the great content (don't burn yourself out )
Thank you Mr Skeletal for showing up in my recommendations. You're real treasure.
Actually got in for the premier this time!
Dude you have all my respect for pouring your soul to every second of a masterpiece that review is. Subbed after first watch, keep it doing 💪
Great video, once again. I really hope this whole UA-cam thing works out for you!
You sing really good skelly, nice ending for a video very fun.
Skull man is back in town, such a pleasure to watch this after your successful Rayman Origins video! Yeah nostalgia blinded me I have to admit, because I still loves the game today despite its obvious weaknesses. But man, what would I do for a third one in the same vein of Origins and Legends to have a complete trilogy... (No I don't count the spin-offs)
I respect your opinion, but despite the flaws, I personally love the game.
Great video, hope someday we can see a return yo this style of Rayman.
After i recently replay Origin and Legends i can say... That i have same feeling and it is really sad i remember like this one more than origin but after replay not than much as before. You really say it perfectly. I need to replay the first Rabbit Rayman because i remeber likeing it.
I've played all of Rayman Legends, but I only remember the music levels and Thousand Lums Under the Sea
the duster joke.....how without lung it hits...
Keep it up buddy, always love to see you uploads.
thank you for a new rayman video to watch
After watching both the Rayman videos, I think I just found an underrated channel!
You really opened my eyes on why i always just play the origins levels in legends
I've played through all of Rayman Legends. I think more of the praise for it is deserved than you think, but I do still think it got more than deserved.
Nah the game is fantastic and better than origins imo, though both games are great!
Amazing musical number dude!
Im too drunk to be watchin that snoop ad
Every single time I go through this video, I get flashbanged by the board game...
I just love your salsa moves.
REIMU FUMO DETECTED ON THE TOP SHELF.
Even thought I loved legends, I'm sure my option would change if I actually played it again. your video really made me think about how I enjoyed the game and that, while I had fun with it, I prefered origins for the reasons you stated. Hell, it kinda made me want to pick up origins again.
also, the sex bomb part was really good, hella funny.
I was expecting a ton of pushback, but I've seen way more comments like this one where people hold their chin and go "Huh. Maybe he's right." Thanks very much for watching!
The accordion music during the laser sequence of the spy levels is a madcap homage to a scene from Ocean's Twelve where a character basically breakdances through a series of lasers to a similar sounding tune
18:55 what surprised me the most was that reimu fumo. A man with great taste.
Can't wait for the next video.
On the wii u some levels, you lose control of the character to make you use Murphy as the jump around like an idiot you have to protect.
funny enough the lazer dance song is based off the music from a scene in one of the oceans movies. oceans twelve i think?
playing legends right after origins definitely builds it up too much, the game grows on you and you realize the brilliance of features like the scratch card as a way of pacing out the adventure. when you get sick of legends' pace you can unlock an origins level and switch things up a bit
i also think the game's themeing was even better than origins. basing it off of myths and legends and other fiction was inspired
Rayman Legends is one of my favorite games in the franchise. Although I 100% agree about the Murfy levels (At least on the Wii U version) since they always slow the game down to a screeching halt. I remember when this game was supposed to be a Wii U exclusive which is why I bought a Wii U back then. But after trying out the PS4 version sometime in 2019. I now regret buying it on Wii U since all the Murfy levels are now at a faster pace. And the Dark Rayman levels can go where The Sun don't shine. But overall Rayman Legends is an amazing game for me. Although I am tired of the game getting ported constantly to newer hardware just as an excuse for a new console to have a Rayman game.
I’m simply so happy that he talked about Legends.
I personally love Rayman Legends (I’ve even 100% it) and have still yet to play Origins, but I reckon I’ll give it a proper shake now
Before you make a comment about Ocean's Twelve, I've been told. Trust me. I've been told.

I agree this release was INFERIOR. The PSVita I would say was the way this game was intended to be played or Wii U. Oh so what beautiful and prettier graphics, but honestly. The Murphy content on other releases is FILLER, but on Vita or WIi U, it was actually engaging. I remember back in 2015-2016's summer where I played the game on vita and the touch controls or back touchpad were options. I still loathe the 8-bit levels due to that screen.
This game is a classic case. Good game, released on the wrong platform. As 1. Take advantage of the screen/touchpads if had that in the original version of the game. 2. Why the bad release? 3. Take advantage of the gyro features, as the game was designed around/intended for.
Rayman legends is a game I love, but even I would say Origins was better, as it was focused on being a game released for multiple platforms and not having the baggage of being a Wii U game to its core. I feel bad for anyone who actually did finish the game on vita 100% like myself.
I loved the Fiesta de los muertos (Party of the dead) as it a bad level on other platforms unless play it with the intended system it was designed around. The rotten food theme was cool. I loved this game on the go, but the ports after Wii U are just lesser than the Vita though.
