I really need this. I often confused to decide where and which needs to give more emphasize in a drawing. Should it what my oc are holding on? Their face? The background instead? Or what

Emphasis (contrast) in an image should be in the center of what you are narrating. If your character holds a knife and it just killed someone, it should be there. If you want to show its mood, maybe you should put contrast in the face. It depends on your intention with the image you are producing. Remember that contrast is the first place someone looks when approaching a picture. Your place of bigger contrast will be the more attention grabbing, so its good to state the main part of your story in that place. It makes the pictures theme easier to understand to the viewer.
@ thank you so much for the advice. I'm having difficulty to choose *multiple* object I want to emphasize, but I don't want the viewers to get confuse with so many vocal points. I think i need to learn more about Composition.

@@valhatan3907 In every picture you should design a decreasing ladder of contrast. The most important point will be the more contrasting. The second most important point decreses contrast by a little. The third a little more. The less important places will be the less contrasting. Do not contrast multiple things in the same way, you should always have a more important focus and then decreased focus. We understand images in this way because thats the way the brain processes what comes through our eyes. Ask yourself if everything in your range of sight is focused in the same way. You always have a point of major contrast and focus where you center your sight and then theres a progressive unfocusing decontrasting all around it.
