Great stuff! Spot-on clawhammer jig technique, left hand trills and all. I smiled too at the head beats. Like a bubbling brook, that low whistle is, making a nice combo.
Although she's not playing with a plectrum, it's usually not called fingerstyle. It's most commonly called clawhammer. Fingerstyle is usually picking up with your fingers, like on a guitar. But I agree, it works really well. And playing clawhammer in 6/8 is pretty tricky. Well done!
Absolutely mesmerized.. and mind you, I've listened to celtic trad since the late 1980:s, and I'm not easy to impress. Now I am. The accuracy of that banjohammering and the energy between the two of you...Hat's of from Sweden.
I love the sound of the banjo with the flute. Rumored to have originated in Africa, the 5 string took its current form in America, but sounds Really good playing Irish tunes. My grandfather played banjo, supposedly even with the Carter family, back in the days when people played live on the radio. It always makes me think of green misty hills, whether in Alabama, Ireland,or even New Zealand, thats where its magic is most potent.
Nice tone from both instruments and passionately played! Have you tried the Aquila Nylgut banjo string? They offer an old-world sound on my open back banjo... plans to tour North America in 2024-25?
Check out another video, where she plays a cello banjo with what appears to be Nylgut strings. Very nice. ua-cam.com/video/3f_UMSxzwB4/v-deo.htmlsi=S-iH2sK-E2lKk_z6
Yall need to get into the jig more. Not enough gitty up in the feelings of it.. stand up and move around... this sounded more like a practice session or a bored night.. talented though none the less..
Sensational playing .... thank you both .... brought a big smile to me
STUNNING playing. Clawhammering a jig is intensely difficult. Brilliant!!!
That one made my soul smile. Pure medicin for a guy from the north. (Damn cold....)Thumbs up from Sweden
As Irish Flute Player & A Clawhammer Banjo player the algorithm definitely did me right today. Also, unbelievably cool irish clawhammer style. Wow.
Unbelievable how so much soul can be created by just two people and two instruments. It felt like a whole orchestra!! Beautiful!!

Subtle, powerful, and probably unique in Irish music.👍😎🌞❤️
That Irish flute hit me right in the ancestry
It's a low whistle not a flute

Yes beautiful 🙏🏼❤️✨
Well, that was pretty damn good!!!🤗👏👏👏👏
I haven't seen a look like that since the Civil Wars.
Really enjoyed this. Finger style banjo playing for Irish music is very effective here and being able to double up as a backing instrument. ❤

The girl has great technique.
Nice playing - impressive use of the low d Overton? whistle - I have one but can't play it like that!

You have to tell the flautist to blow louder or turn down the banjo mike... It's absolutely distressing
Yall need to get into the jig more. Not enough gitty up in the feelings of it.. stand up and move around... this sounded more like a practice session or a bored night.. talented though none the less..
You don’t know nowt. This is typically Irish craic
