Hello Melinda I am so blessed to have found your channel. There are a ton of videos on Brother machines but not many on Baby Lock. I have a Destiny and Venture and I reside in Virginia. I really need to learn more about both machines because the shop I purchased them from closed two years ago and did not get to take any lessons. My first Baby Lock machine, the Esante2 was purchased about 30 years ago and I love Baby Lock machines. I want to learn how to use IQ Designer and how to use the sewing portion of the Destiny. My machine came with the embroidery foot attached and I don't even know how to change the machine to sew. I look forward to joining your FB group and will continue to watch your UA-cam channel. I have shared your UA-cam channel with my friends who own Baby Lock machines.
Hello Melinda. I have an Altair and have committed to learn more about this wonderful tool (and friend). I have learned so much from you. Your teaching style and speed works well for me. Bite-sized learning. I know this is the ship example, but I made my own umbrella the other day from your training video and last night, I created a kitty cat all on my own. I have a long way to go, but this girl from west Michigan is going to befriend my Altair this year and produce amazing quilts, in the hoop designs, and gifts. Thank you, thank you, thank you! I am blessed to have found you. 🙏🏻Kris
That’s exactly what I want to hear! You will be very successful in learning your new best friend! Continue to make something each day and you’ll be an expert creating gorgeous quilts in no time!
I'm a new subscriber and have been learning a lot! Thank you! I do wish you would show an actual stitch out of the designs. I know that takes extra time to do so, but it would be nice to see a sample stitched out. Thanks again for the videos, I'm working my way through them.
Hi Kimber! So glad you joined us! If you want to see stitch outs, I do a lot in our FB lives and in our paid classes. UA-cam, at this moment, is shorter, specific tutorials condensed intentionally to allow for learning to take place each day. If you’re interested in more in-depth tutorials join our FB and classes. Thank you again for joining us!
Thank you Melinda! That ship is so cool. I like it much better in blue. I have the Brother Luminaire XP3. No Babylock dealer close to me but I do love my machine. Tomorrow I'll be looking at my built in designs.
Great lesson today. Love the way you showed how to change the look of the ship. From Fruita, Colorado. Forecast snow tomorrow but not sure how much here in the town.
Thank you, Jeannie! I hope you enjoy the snow. I’m from Southern California and have lived in Washington State for a while now. I still get excited when it snows. 😂 Nothing but sand where I’m from!
Do you live close to Soap Lake, Washington? I went to a Quilt Retreat in Soap Lake, Washington in May 2022. Cindi Rang & her daughter own the Guilt Patch in Ephrata, Washington. They also own the Retreat in Soap Lake. Great place for a retreat. If you are close to there be sure to stop by the store. Tell them I sent you.
Thank you Melinda I hadn’t thought of changing the. Color on the black and white designs! I’m in southwest Washington sitting in the dark cause we lost power in our neighborhood! And yep waiting for white stuff!
Hello, Kandy! It’s a lot of fun to change our built in designs to fit our color tastes and changes the whole look for sure. Oh boy! We had no power this morning. It’s pretty blustery out there for sure. I hope your power returns soon and you’re warm and stitching! 😊
I love your lessons Melinda. I was wondering why you don’t use a mouse instead of the huge pen. It is so much easier to follow a mouse curser and see what you are clicking on. Just a suggestion..😊😊😊
Thank you very much, Jann. I appreciate your comment and I’ll try using the mouse so it’s easier for you all to see. 😊 When it comes to creating in IQ, I don’t use a mouse. I know a lot of people feel they have better control when drawing. For me, I prefer a stylus. Yes, I’d love it if the sensitivity of the Solaris screen were equal to that of the Altair, but the engineers at BL are always looking to improve functionality so I’m sure that’s coming. 😊 Again, thank you for taking the time to write and share your thoughts. I think it will help others see better as well!
Great lesson! I was going to ask this same question. Using a mouse opens up a whole new world. Short of that, the stylus that came with upgrade 3 works much better than the original clunky one.

Isn’t it great, Maureen? I think I need to stitch it in blue after today! Let me know if you stitch it out. 😊

Do you have a tutorial about how to delete a portion of a design you don’t want?
Thanks for what you share!
In IQ or Embroidery side, Molly?
There is a pirate ship that you can take like an hour cruise on in St Augustine
How fun! Thank you!
What are your favorite designs in the Altair?
There are too many to list! Lol
There ARE pirate ship cruises and rides so talk to Google! 😉
Oh my! Thank you! I’ll look into it. 😊
