I honestly love how spot on the costumes and personalities for this one skit are
This could never air today
I hate political correctness. Making adult hood even more crappy. Can we just say, a joke is a joke?
Wow, the actors really nailed the characters voices
"They're more afraid of us than we are of them." lmao
I can't believe this was on TV! 😂
"Who's the Wizards baby!?"
The world wasn't full of whiny butthurt bitches like it is nowadays. Mad TV is a fuckin classic, but they would never air any of that shit these days
There is no way SNL could ever have a skit this hilarious!
TheSonicNiGHT but that that was 15 years ago now people will complaining about it
Livingston Hampton You have to remember that SNL doesn't have the freedom that MADTV had. MADTV was all pre-taped, so they had the advantage of time to develop these skits until they were perfected and ready to film. SNL has ONE WEEK to come up with the ideas that reflect what is currently in the news as well as tailoring the skit to that's week's guest host. It's an insane deadline that keeps the writers up late hours and then factor in the dress rehearsal time they need for each skit. It's amazing they are able to do what they do at all! I admit to liking MADTV more, but it's totally unfair to compare the two shows.
SNL should be cancelled and bring back Mad TV
It was bought back and everyone hated it. I wish people would shut up and just enjoy the classic Mad TV. Personally I found the later years, like around 2003 or 2004 to 2009 to kind of suck or at least be more hit and miss.
Not Ready for Prime Time Players were the best SNL ever had. Everything after that has been crap. They need to bring back Fridays to ABC too.
"Why you black bastrard"🤣😂😭
the scarecrow moves exactly like the original one
Madtv was and is the only comedy show that could bring me to tears of laughter.
Love mad tv, but, in living color was hilarious too!...have not liked saturday night live for over 30 year's!...snl hasn't been funny since all the best people left in the 80's!
@@robertjenkins5440 I was about to say the same thing. In Living Colour definitely had me crying tears of laughter sometimes, as a kid. But man, the more I watch MadTV, the more I discover how unbelievably funny and innovative; this classic comedy show was. Truly legendary and Goated. 😂📺🐐💯
I always remembered how she turned the wrong way when he slapped her. lol
Gotta learn the body language. If it's the "wrong way" it means they're sadists.
gotta wonder if he switched hands when they shot it (from rehearsal), and she'd just practiced going that direction, and couldn't adjust spur of the moment? at any rate, it's funny as hell
Classic MadTV. I miss this show so much. Great to have clips here.
"I'd be happy just to have a limp. I swear to God I wouldn't pimp." lol
"I think you better settle for a leg" (no wiser words have ever been spoken)
2:52 notice when he slaps her , her head goes the wrong way lol
we thought nobody else noticed that. That nice little touch made that part so much funnier!
In all seriousness, a lot of things from the book were left out of the movie, but I've never understood why they didn't include Jasper the One-Legged Slave.
There were creatures called Hoppers that were in the later Oz books. They are somewhat like Jasper
The days back then, during the time this was filmed, were much better. The nights were lively and exciting...Life was a big Fanta Orange soda...It was great!!!
"GO ON! GET FROM HERE! GET FROM HERE!"
hahahaha
it's funny, but is it a southern quote they used to use back in the slave days?
@@IzludeTingel it's a common black quote from ye olden days, yes. it's southern. he also says "freedoms" with an S, which is a hilarious emphasis of the time and language.
The doggy never broke character...
"Get from here"....too funny.
*Even the subtlety in this skit is hilarious . For instance Dorthy( Mo Collins) saying" I don't want to go home" while clicking her "Ruby shoes"multiple times.*
This skit was funny as hell!
It's comedy like this being the reason I look up mad tv instead of snl ^^
So true👍 Dot; Laurain; Ms. Swan, "Me do nails, nooo, nooo"; Stewart, "Look what I can do"🤣
Fukn loved this when they originally aired this
The Tinman killed it!
I think this might actually be the best skit they've ever done.
This and the alternate ending where Dorothy argues with Glenda, the Good Witch, and afterwards the gay Tin Man is "lubricated"😆
The talent with these guys is undeniable!
"I think you better settle for a leg." LOL!!!! :)
This is one of the funniest skits ever classic miss mad tv
lmao this was the greatest. I miss mad tv
The dog who was playing as toto is cute
R.I.P.
Toto the dog😔👼
That could never be made today.
Tin Man: Michael McDonald
Dorothy: Mo Collins
Lion: Will Sasso
Scarecrow: Pat Kilbane
Jasper: Aries Spears
It’s funny Aries plays the Wizard in Proud Family. So he is the wizard. 🤣🤣🤣
I love the audience screeching with delight
One of my favorite MadTV sketches. Everything about it (acting, art direction, e.g.) is spot on.
"Who's the wizard baby"
"You are. I don't want to go home"
"You ain't got to"
"I don't want want to go home"
'You ain't got to"
"I don't want to gOOOOOOH!
(Busts wild powerful nut)
I swear to god this is the funniest madtv sketch they ever did..not up for debate
123 Boy What scares me - and I absolutely mean this - is that an awful lot of people actually DON'T understand the difference between fact and opinion. And I don't mean that from the standpoint of point of view. There is no such thing as an opinion being fact - period. I get that people believe strongly in their opinions. What I don't get is that there are a SCARY number of people who
GENUINELY.DON'T.UNDERSTAND.WHAT.DISTINGUISHES.ONE.FROM.THE.OTHER. Know what defines fact and what defines opinion.
As in being IGNORANT.
123 Boy That's my point. My suspicion, to be blunt...is I'm not all that sure a lot of people really get that. Call me an asshole for saying so...but there's an awful lot of folks getting triggered if someone even SUGGESTS that their opinion might not be one everyone shares. Not even that someone disagrees with them - but just that it's POSSIBLE someone COULD think otherwise. People get shot at Fourth of July BBQs all the time because somebody's nose got out of joint for someone else not agreeing with some opinion they expressed. So - I get it's SUPPOSED to be just a saying. Just not 100% sure it is for more than a few folks.
"Whose the wizard, baby?"-- LOL. Great skit.
Gets from here!!!!! Lol
This was Funny as "HELL"....Great TV..Loved MadTV !!!
it was so racist but I couldn't help but laugh. I'm dying 😂😂😭
I DON'T WANT TO GO HOME!
Just came back for a little dose of the internet of my childhood. Good to know it's still intact
3:55
"Goan.
Git from hea!"
Lol
Every once in a while I have to come back to watch this. Jesus this is too funny. “Go on.. get outta here!”
Yep👍 "Go on...get outta here!": even seeing it in writing is funny🤣
*THE WAY HE THREW HIS CRUTCH TO THE SIDE,*
Waving them away and _"Go on, git from here!"_ 🤣😂🤣
Whoever played the Lion killed it.
Aragorn Stellar Will Sasso was one of the funniest if not THE funniest. he has MAD tv clips on UA-cam too.
"oh, why did i became a gimp..i`d be happy just to have a limb..i swear to god i wouldn`t pimp"...nyahaha!!!!
im black. I'm woke. and this is funny
@Easter_ Panda! Don't ruin the moment, men used to be strong minded before your generation..
@@derp8575 Yes, the woke movement are literally talking the fun out of anything comedic and shaming us all for having a sense of humor. They want us to be a serious menopausal society with countless guidelines to e everything we observe, f*** them! I'm gonna be me and enjoy my days on this earth, let them "stand for something".. they can impregnate each other with their doodoo..
Back in the day, this and In Living Color were pure gold!!!
And yet SNL is still on and this is not. How the hell did that happen?
"…who's the wizard…?" too much!
0:50 Smart Lion, he knows not to relax.
This sketch would have brought outrage when it got to the line 'A Negro in distress' if it managed to get past censors today. Because of numerous recent events, 'race relations' have been set back by at least 100 years.
Dorothy: We’re not in Kansas anymore
Me: Dorothy when that baby comes out you ain’t going back to Kansas
First time I've seen this. The writing and acting here really is exceptional.
"I think you should settle for a leg!"🤣💀😭 The lion rubbing the tip while they are doing it 🤦🏽♂️😂
"Gone...Git frum hea! Git frum hea!" ROTFL!!!!!!
Lion: Ooohhh a NEGRO! LOL!!!
No way, how could these guys get away with this? Just hilarious!!!!
Lmao I remember seeing this on tv when it came on I didn't get it at first but now I do 🤣
Great stuff. Don't think we'll see anything like this again.
MAD tv was so funny...i miss it
Back when the world had a sense of humor, generosity and tolerance ..
WOW. You couldn't get away with this in today's uptight world.
Yeah the late 90s was practically the last decorate you get away with comedy like this.
To be fair only between circa 1970 and 9/11 was edgy humor like this tolerated. Lets be honest this skit would not have aired in 1950 or 1940.
“WHO’s da Wizard, Baby?!…Who’s da wizard?”
If MGM hadn’t cut this 4 minute scene out of this classic film BERT LAHR would have won a Best Supporting Actor Acadamy Award for sure
Please note the Cowardly Lion 🦁 is playing with his tail when he’s watching Jasper in the BUSHES with Dorothy
The amount of work that went into this skit and it tied for the funniest thing I have seen on YT!! Can you imagine all the pissed off folks if this was on 'tv' now, it was so fuckin' funny!
This was comical genius
He’s resting on that barb wire fence
We need this back but this sensitive era couldn't handle it
0:50 Is the funniest part with the lion LOL
I saw this on a mad tv dvd when I was a kid in 2009 I still remember it to this day 💀
This is so much better than anything SNL would do.
I remember seeing this in the special "MadTV Ruined My Life!" :D
Remember when we could laugh at absurdity together
there more afraid of us then we are of them
"Who's the Wizard baby!!"
They just standing there watching
Mad TV and Mo Collins , quite exciting !.
Stuff like this is why Mad TV was so much better than SNL. I still miss it.
This sketch must have taken about 65% of that seasons's budget. lol.
1:24 The audience actually cheered that
Ppl sure were f ed up in the 90s
WHOS THE WIZARD, BABY!!!
Hurry up and save this classic comedy skit with Free UA-cam Downloader while it is still here.
Dorothy: I don't wanna go home!
Jasper: You ain't got to!
LOL!!
I laughed until I had tears in my eyes !
"Gone get from here!"
💀
