The siren you heard is very specific to Dema, which is the city introduced in part 2 of the trilogy, Nico and the Niners. In the Dema storyline, when someone tries to escape the city, a siren sounds. A very interesting incorporation in the background story...you heard in Fairly Local that Tyler calls the clique "The Few, the Proud, and the Emotional" (F.P.E.). Well when someone tries unsuccessfully to escape Dema and the high walls surrounding the city it is called a Failed Perimeter Escape (F.P.E.) These initials are not by accident, and it is those little references and easter eggs that make the Clickies diehard fans.
This was the first song of theirs I ever heard. It's the first song they played live on the Bandito tour. And what cemented the absolute magic of seeing them live, was during the part where it slows down at "I'll be right there" and the Banditos on the cliff throw the flower petals. Yellow paper confetti shaped like petals fell from the rafters over the pit

This song was a huge deal when it came out, after they finished their Tour de Columbus series of concerts the band went into what the clique called "the hiatus" where Tyler and Josh took a year long break from everything and were essentially radio silent. This music video dropped alongside Nico and the Niners after several weeks of teasers for this album's story. It was a really exciting time trying to figure out what the band was planning and it paid off with what I consider to be their best album.
You can't imagine the excitement we faced when they came back with this banger after their 1 year hiatus. Introducing the clique to the world of Dema. And even now after another album there are still so many things to discover. The lore is complex and complicated at times, and it's just normal to be confused by trying to catch up with all of it in a rush. The story started with the Blurryface album, and will be completed with the upcoming album. Tyler says everything will make sense once we get to hear it.
Yes, the jumpsuit symbolizes protection. They even changed their logo for the Trench era from |-/ to ||-// representing an extra bar of protection. The way I like to think of it, in Blurryface he was confronting his demons / mental health struggles. In Trench he’s trying to break free, but he recognizes that he can’t do it alone. So that is where the Banditos come in. They can represent friends, family, or other support that can guide you or offer support and encouragement. My favorite scene of this video is when they throw the yellow petals, which represent hope. They can’t help Tyler fight his demons (Blurryface) directly, but they can provide encouragement and support. It helps Tyler snap out of Nico’s control and get the courage to run. And even though he trips and falls, Josh is still there watching over him. Josh is Tyler’s rock and anchor. Their friendship bond is as impressive as their combined musical talent.
Sorry for commenting on the videos all at the same time at such an odd time, but I usually just binge these. ANYWAYS! Something beautiful about the video I found is the way Tyler follows the bishop, only to see the support he has from those around him and run away. It’s the willingness to give into your insecurities, your depression, your deepest parts, only to see the love you have around you and realizing it’s worth fighting against. ||-//
Also the black on his neck and hands represents his insecurities about the way he writes and sings. Hence why Nico touched his neck and it turns black then since Tyler feels insecure he follows Nico back to Dema.
I LOVE IT !! I remember the second vid I watched was HDS and then Jumpsuit !!! It’s the intricacies that they’ve folded into Everything that blows me away ! Well besides the absolute blessings the lyrics have been to my soul … love them forever !!
Now that you've done Nico and the niners you should have a better idea of the story. But Josh is the leader of the banditos and Nico is the bishop on the horse. Nico is there to take him back to Dema, but the banditos try to show him that there is another way. And I'm still out here asking for hometown 🙂
I like a lot when after he gets those stripes on his neck, the paint eventually takes over his whole neck and when he decides to run away, the paint fades away too. You have to pay attention to every single detail, bc everything they show has a meaning. Even the smallest most insignificant details.

Also few realise that the sound in the song is a siren, which is going off because Tyler has escaped from the city of Dema. Nico has ridden out to take him back. Yay! I’m so glad you were able to get this out! So the guy in the horse is Nico from Nico and the niners, who is Tyler’s personal demon/bishop from Dema. The people at the top of the mountain are the banditos they’re the ones who have already gotten away from Dema, and Tyler is actually running towards them because he doesn’t wanna go back to Dema even though he briefly follows Nico willingly as one would do with their anxiety sometimes we fall into that state of mind willingly, and we let it drag us back. and yes the car is from heavy dirty soul. Since you are really liking Twenty One Pilots, and becoming part of the Fanbase, I would suggest you look into the dema world, and then go back and listen to their self, titled record regional at best all their older songs, it all ties in all the way from the first album to their last .
