- 19 años han pasado y Harry tiene por fin esa familia que siempre deseo.
Hermione también tiene su familia, pero no con Harry... con él las cosas simplemente jamás pudieron ser... tal vez fue cosa del destino, tal vez fue cosa de suerte pero cuando se le presentó la oportunidad de darle esa familia a Harry que siempre soñó no lo dudo por un segundo.
Porque aunque ella estuvo enamorada de él por muchos años y aunque sufría en silencio por ese amor que no creyó correspondido, y aunque en su tiempo compartió más que una relación de amigos con Harry, ella era lo suficientemente inteligente como para saber que su relación jamás iba a poder ser... un imposible, es lo que era, porque el estar juntos significaba pelear con el mundo entero que los veía como si fueran solamente hermanos... es por eso que Hermione lo entiende y después de que Harry derrotará a Voldemort, ella le da el regalo de hacerle olvidar todo aquello que compartieron juntos, dejandole el camino libre a esa familia y felicidad que siempre deseo, porque ella no importaba, después de todo ya encontraría a alguien como él... no... no lo haría; pero sabía que ese amor que sentía por su amigo jamás iba a morir, y eso bastaba... podía sobrevivir con tenerlo a su lado como su amigo... como su "hermano"; porque si él estaba bien entonces ella también... y ahí estaban, 19 años después como una gran familia, con una dicha que soñó una vez les pertenecería a ellos dos... con un futuro y una historia que tal vez en otra vida si podrían compartir.

I cannot explain nor ever get over how much I wanted these two to be a couple. After reading the books and watching the movies a thousand times, I still imagine them as a couple. It will always be Harry & Hermione in my heart and mind and soul. Always.

While i do not normally support cheating in any fashion, there is a fan fic that takes place mere weeks after the final battle. They are all still staying at the Weasley's, nobody quite ready to move on yet. The story has the reader assume that Harry and Hermione shared a moment in the tent when Ron had left them and Hermione stayed with Harry. In the story they discussed if they should move forward with and become something more and Hermione made the decision to cut things before they got to far. She didn't want Harry to lose yet another family just for her. So told Harry they would be better as friends. Harry tried telling her that he can't just do that now that his true feelings are out there and Hermione asked him if he could rip out Ron and Ginny's heart because that is what this would do. So they agreed to leave it alone. Three story is from Hermione 's perspective and she gets more and more crushed each time she sees Ginny and Harry, or hearts noises from their room. She keeps telling herself she loves Ron and he's enough. Until they have a moment alone and it's revealed Harry hasn't gone all the way with Ginny, he tells Hermione Ginny isn't who he wants and he can't do that to her. That's when they kiss, Hermione says she made a huge mistake and has only made things wise because she can't keep seeing them together.
They make the decision to tell Ginny and Ron. Ginny takes it well, she tells Harry she could feel something had shifted upon his return and felt like he had pulled away because his feelings seemed less intense. She also confirmed that she suspected Hermione and him had been developing feelings over time and probably had no clue until Ron forced them to rely on just each other. She was hurt, but thankful that Harry had told her and respected her enough to not have sex when he was in love with someone else.
Ron on the other hand lost his shit. Telling Hermione this was ever fear he ever had. Hermione tried to stay calm, apologize, keep from hurting him more but he went to far. He told her that he had known better than to think she could ever live him and of curse she would choose the chosen one. Hermione lost it, telling him that he had always been good enough, it was only him who thought so. She told him this wasn't a punishment, it was a self fulfilled prophecy, how could she trust that when things get hard, he wont run since he has allowed his insecurities to cause him to abandon his friends multiple times. He made the mistake of showing that he can't handle things, and she can't be with someone who can't stay during the hard times. Ron runs from the room and punches Harry hard in the face only to have Ginny push him off and tell him to leave Harry the fuck alone, Ron created this problem himself and they can't blame Hermione for falling for the person who has never failed her or her her down and how could she blame Harry for falling for the woman who's proven she will do anything for him.
I choose to see this story as cannon in a way. Perhaps way later in life, after they both have kids.

@christianabarnes2231 yeah a lot of authors decided not to change cannon so much as redo the ending. Implying that what we Harmony fans saw, was real.
There is a fan fic that this video reminds me of. It's told from Hermione's prospective. It details the time Harry and Hermione spent after Ron left. The story basically starts 2 weeks after the war ends. Hermione is sitting with Ron in a love seat while Ginny is laying on Harry's lap while they all are talking about everyone but Ron going back to school next year. While they talk Hermione is having flashbacks of basically every scene in this video. She's going over every detail of her and Harry's "friendship "and realizing that Harry had been right, they can't put the feelings back in the box now that they are out. The final flashback is Hermione kissing Harry and them confessing that they feel more for each other than friendship and that they have felt that way for a while. Hermione them remembers telling Harry they can't pursue this, it would hurt to many people. Harry tries pleading with her but Hermione holds strong, she doesn't want to ruin anther family for Harry. Harry's final words are that he will never push Hermione into to something, but he can't put the feelings away now that they are out.
Hermione then remembers that feeling in her chest as if he heart was ripped from her and squeezed to a pulp after seeing Harry dead in Hagrid's arms. She then flash forwards all the time over the last 2 weeks, the pain of seeing Ginny with Harry and the pain in Harry's eyes when he looks at her and Ron.
At one point Harry and Hermione are alone. Hermione knows she's unfairly jealous as she asks Harry to try and keep it down at night. Harry blushes and says "i don't know what you think is going on, but I'm still a virgin Hermione. She's wanting to take things to the next level, but she's not who I want and it would feel like I'm using her. That isn't fair to her ". Without thinking, Hermione grabs Harry kisses him deeply and tells him she made a mistake. Tells him she can't keep seeing him with Ginny and she's made it worse by waiting so long.
Harry soothes her and tells her it's going to be okay, they will tell them together.
Ginny takes things shockingly well. She's hurt but admits that she has felt a disconnect since they all came back. She tells Harry that he really does have a type, that her and Hermione have many similarities both are strong, independent, outspoken, and not afraid to be who they are, but despite the similarities, Ginny isn't the one who's been by Harry's side since they were 11, isn't the one who never abandoned him, she isn't the one who saved him time and time again, and she isn't the one he shares ever part of himself with. She says she is hurt, but knows deep down they are doing the right thing by airing it out now. She also thanks Harry for being respectful and not sleeping with while he's in love with Hermione.
Ron on the other hand loses his shit and punches Harry. It's Ginny who pushes him off and threatens him if he touches Harry again. Ginny then tells Ron this was a self fulfilled prophecy. Hermione tries to stop Ginny, she doesn't want to hurt Ron, but Ginny tells her he needs to hear it. Ginny tells him that her made choices that forced Hermione to reevaluate things. She tells him he proved he can't handle big things, that when things get to hard, he runs. She says "women like me and Hermione need a guy who can stick through the hard times cause women like them don't always make things easy, they are quick to anger and switch their moods on a dime. Ron needs someone mellow tempered and he proved he can't handle intense moments. Ron looks to Hermione who nods. She apologizes and tells him it's not his fault, they just don't work.
Ron tries getting angry but Molly steps in at that moment, tells Ron she loves him, but he left them alone for months and they had to rely on each other. She tells him he needs to figure out how to move past this because she can't show Harry or Hermione to feel unwelcomed.
It was an amazing story.

I don’t ship them but this made me tear up a bit. They both fell madly in love with other amazing people, but their platonic love and care for each other is only what some would dream. Wow you really had to stretch to get that out of this video. Platonic was the not what this was about. Take your crap somewhere else. This was Hermione being in love with Harry but decided not to ruin things so spurned his advances. The implication is that by trying not to ruin their bond, she ruined everything because they stopped being friends. It's the words to the song abs the clips the creator chose that tell the story. Harry tries telling her this is going to make things worse, but Hermione insists they remain friends even though that's not what she wants, it's what she thinks is best. They end up growing apart and Hermione sees him years later and all the feelings come back.
