The little details of you clipping branches perfectly on beat with the music. You put just as much detail into editing these videos as you do with your trees. Spectacular artisan.
have been creating and showing bonsai for 50 years but what was done in one year here in the video makes me proud there are such talented people about..what a lovely result ..
Well that's it folks, I've found my safe space. Not only has this video convinced me that I want to make one of these for my Mom, but its turned me onto what I hadn't realized is the most beautiful expression of art i've ever seen. I'm now of the belief that a bonsai tree reveals the soul of it's sculptor. Truly remarkable
I have to agree!! I literally couldn't help but laugh in shock when you reached into the screen to grab the pot, it was truly amazing! I was like, what does this man NOT know how to do??
If anyone is equally inspired and intimidated to get into bonsai by seeing this guy at work I highly recommend just going for it. Look at some bonsai for beginner videos, pull a sapling out of the ground, buy a couple of tools and some wire, don't worry about specific pots at the start. Putting 10% of this effort will result in some immensely satisfying results. The first time I wired something into shape and seeing it turn from a boring stick into a miniature tree is almost as satisfying as watching this video. Oh and kudos on the effort and editing, these videos are leaps and bounds ahead ❤
Wow, you went 110% on this video. The cinematography, professional lighting, studio setup, time lapse, animation, special effects and detailed every move over the course of months, including setting up the camera for each shot. The amount of work that went into this is insane. Not only detailed and beautiful but also incredibly creative. This is the best bonsai video I’ve seen and it’s also the best how to and documentary videos I’ve seen period. Master filmmaker and Bonsai artist. Congrats.
I hardly ever watch and enjoy every second of a UA-cam video, but this is an exception. As much care and attention clearly went into the video as for sorting out that tree. Absolutely gorgeous.
The dedication and attention to detail is phenomenal. Every time I watch these, I doubt a decision he’s making and then see the results and take it back immediately 😂 he clearly has better vision than me
@@BonsaiReleaf You should try a long-format cut (~1h). Maybe there are a few fans there and it makes for some sweet view time ;-) Also, you could do an edit without music, like Julian Baumgartner did for a while. The algorithms seems to favour upload frequency over novelty of the content.
The combination of passion, dedication, and creativity work soooo well in your videos and also don’t forget how peaceful they are, thank you for the hard work it has not gone unappreciated
Nobody does videos on the process of bonsai like you do. You're the whole reason I even got into making them myself, and I'm so happy to have another video to oogle over!
So soothing. I love the "stop-motion" part with the small adjustments to all the branches put together 5:48 My favorite thing about this channel is the vids are styled as art vids, rather than a how-to guides. You're showing your art process. (Also, I really think you should consider putting your bonsai sketches on prints in your shop.)
@@BonsaiReleaf I am really looking forward to that. I have got a question. Since I think about release, calmness and balance when i think about bonsai, what would you say would be a room designed for that energy with a bonsai? Would love to hear your thoughts. Thanks for the time and effort you put into your videos and the craft.
If I haven't told you this before, I believe you to be THE BEST Bonsai channel on YT. Why? Due to your Passion and Patience. You can feel the love you have for what you do, just watching you work.. or I can't even say Work, because you look like you're in your element. You look so Calm and at Peace. No other Bonsai YT'er has the commitment, dedication and artistic touch that you do. Thats of course imho, but the rest of them feel like butchers in comparison to you.

When he reached in and pulled that pot out of the screen, that just made me go crazy. His skills combined with the most creative video production on YT is brilliant. He should have way more recognition than he does, he's fantastic.
