It's amazing hearing the words coming out of your mouth...your thoughts are exactly the same as mine! I still want to do the stepdeck with an older 379 or similar...even though I'm already 60. I would still run local though. My fear is that the market will flood with new hotshots and all the problems that comes with that. You have established yourself real well with some good direct customers and that gives you a good stable base. As for a computer to work on your truck, have you ever had AutoEnginuity hooked up to your truck? Great for diagnostics and you can run tests with it. Need to run it on a laptop, a phone or tablet won't work. I have the total Ford enhanced version which does all fords including the powerstrokes. Cost is $359. On that excavator bucket...you can't have your chains touching where they cross. Put some padding in between them.
The system is making it harder for the little guy to be self sufficient. There's a war on self sufficiency. My 5.9 cummins, rto6610, dana S140 axle swapped 67 C60 is a 1/4 the price of brand new and it tows a 42 step deck loaded to 45k#'s. I've got $18,500 between my truck and trailer. It's less expensive to maintain and is way more reliable than a brand new truck. Got my CDL A with air brake restriction.
There are many issues with hotshot at this point. We can't point fingers at just one person. Many newcomers have came and went that never lasted a year. That's where I see a major part of the rate problem is. And it happens every day. One company goes under and another one starts. It's an ongoing battle.
@@chrisward405 it’s the miss information, doing videos showing running faulty equipment, lying about numbers, the list goes on and on with piggy. Yes there are others but not with his followers. These are just my opinions. I like your honesty and you have been in the business a while same as I have been.
I agree with you. There's a lot of misinformation. I guess that may have been one of my reasons for starting my channel so the truth on trucking can be told. You and I both know it's not all smooth sailing lol
How do you have the tv mounted , I want todo the same thing would you share ? I am close to getting out should have my authority next week trailer registration is in the works Getting apportion plates for my truck is the only PIA left .
Wow! 😯 you have that trailer STACKED for sure! Great information 👍🏻

Agreed. Old school is cheaper to maintain.
Tow piggy is one of the biggest problems in hotshot
