3:00 "you should know your worth". This is good advice for any working relationship. Or actually any relationship. Know your worth and don't be afraid to get it.
Good stuff as always. Keep it up Ash!

    Great pfp update, champ!
Edit: A creator that's created such a positive community definitely deserves to be compensated fairly. And like you said, don't know how people can doubt your records when they can just catch your stream. People just being weirdos

Ashlizzle is a beast of an MTG player with insane amounts of experience streaming all day. I can pick up her "80% winrate" decks, get a 40% win rate, and still have close competitive fun games and improve as a player, while she can stack W after W with her skilled hands. So in that case, the win rate doesn't matter tbh

    Anvil is love
Dont let these negative voices get to you. I know its hard, for every 100 praises you will get just 1 negative comment which will hit so much harder.
You often dont play 'simple' decks. And you are a damn good player.
People see winrates and try out these decks and often dont fully understand how the deck is working. When to Mulligan, what is my wincon, how to sideboard, when to trade, when to go all in. That are critical decisions and one mistake can mean you lose and often there are really cool tactics I only learnt by watching your streams.
I also started with one of your earlier Anvil decks and I went like 1:10 with it.
But it was a fun deck to play. Over time I got better and better and games became closer and closer until I got the hang of it. And I will miss Anvil and Nixilis after the rotation :(
Keep doing what you do. You rock!

Anyone questioning win rates isn’t a fan. Because these videos are clips of Twitch, anyone who watches has heard you talking about the previous days decks that didn’t do well.
This is one of the most honest YT channels I’ve seen. The fact that I have a 60% win rate with cookies is my skill vs Ash’s skill. Top players make decisions based on what they think the opponent is going to do. I don’t have that experience level yet and/or make mistakes from bad sequencing. Keep the decks coming! I love having different options to get my daily wins. Also the more variety I play the better I can counter it.

Long time yt viewer, been playing MtG for 15+ years. I'm still learning lines from watching you. Its one thing to be able to brew a fun/creative deck (which how consistently you do is amazing), its another to be able to pilot that deck at such a high skill level as you also do.
Basically, you're a top creator in both regards.

Besty secure that bad number 1! Your decks got me outta plat and into Diamond 3 at the start of otj. I think a lot of people either die out to bad variance or don't look at these videos not as just entertainment but also your content is public coaching. Takes work to be able to navigate these lines or play to the outs the decks have. Keep it up!

GGs Ash don't listen to the haters. Also I could be wrong but I think you can get slightly more mileage out of Anvil + double Vraan (mentioning it since it came up twice in these games) if you first use Anvil during your turn to sac a creature and trigger Vraan 1, then play Vraan 2 and choose to sacrifice Vraan 1. I think this should let you get two Vraan triggers in the same turn, instead of having to wait until the opponents upkeep for the second trigger. Might be slightly safer if the opponent has something instant speed during their upkeep.

  • @Fovulonkiin
    @Fovulonkiin 7 місяців тому +2

It IS obvious that the win-rate applies to exactly what YOU experienced, not what people will experience who play those decks. Like.. education really failed those people who did not understand that (I intentionally try not to blame just the people themselves but their surrounding factors, not everyone has the same opportunities etc.). Besides RNG like hands/draws, matchmaking and stuff like that it should also be clear, that there is a skill gap that is really hard to close given you're a full-time MTG streamer. Anyone expecting to play on the same level as you do might be seriously underestimating what it takes to become good at something.
Oh and yeah, don't let sponsors low-ball you, your channel and others like LegenVD are what keep me motivated trying out new decks on Arena and I'd assume you inspire quite a lot more people to do the same.

I'd love to have a UA-cam channel with the full games on it. I just don't use twitch at all because I like watching things at my own pace and don't care about the immediacy of live content. I just end up defaulting to UA-cam when I feel like watching something.
The edited videos are great and I'm sure they perform better, but I do sometimes feel like I'm missing things. Be it games, sideboarding or just your banter with the chat.
I'd really love having access to the raw unedited streams in UA-cam.

Hey Ash, you seem really affected by how people have been casting doubt over your winrates (which is a perfectly reasonable response btw, you're right to be proud of your work and your skill).
I just want to make sure that you know that they're in the wrong, full stop. It's publically available information, linked everywhere on your channel. There's clearly no deception afoot, it's just that the algorithm hates unsuccessful brews so there's a survivorship bias.
Also I really appreciate your tight play and your combativeness in games. It helps with winning games, of course, but as a viewer it's also great to help me understand how good a deck is when running at full capacity. Many content creators, including competitive players, don't go that extra mile, and so when they're unsuccessful you're left in the dark as to whether the fault is with the deck or the pilot. You're among the very few where there's essentially never this issue.
You're very very talented, and those who matter will recognize that

I'm playing a lot of your brews and some fit me more than other, but that's more a personal thing and lack of skill from me 😂 I'm thinking those commentators lack some kind of reflection for the game and themselve, so they chose the easy and unfair way. Must be frustrating to hear those comments, because u are showing without a need how much u deliver in this game.

MTG (arena or life) has 3 major contributors to win rate:
1 Your opponent, each deck has his best and worst matchup
2 The cards you draw, no matter how good or bad your deck is, you can always draw the right, or wrong cards for that situation.
3 The way you play. if you give 5 people the same deck, you will end up with 5 different playstyles and 5 different winrates. A deck needs to fit your playstyle or you will not win with it.

I know for me, I don't doubt at all you are winning, but I think it's a lot more about your strategy than your deck (although the decks are cool). But I wish you would include more about why you do what you do when you play. That would really be helpful in how you can be a better Magic player. You're awesome.

If you want to "road to 1%" I recommend selecting a deck you think should not be in Mythic, then building a deck that loses to everything BUT that. And lurk in the shadows, hunting the one deck you selected, and then you blow them out utterly while losing every other match and it's always fun but you're still ranking down to 1% Mythic without truly griefing/smurfing.

  • @kevingrisler4123

I think there's two things working against you when you talk about your win rates. First of all, out of all the content creators I watch, you are the only "big name" who consistently plays best of three for content. So when people build your decks and try them in standard BO1, I think they run into a much different experience.
Secondly, I think your decks are a bit out of the comfort zone for most brainrotted players. Simic cookies for example, is a surprisingly complex deck despite it appearing to be a simple aggro deck.
I'm sorry to hear you're having some rough times with this. I am also going through a rough spot, but it'll get better for both of us. 👍

it is so goofy to accuse you of lying about your win rate. what would you even gain from that? I always believe you because you're a top tier brewer and a top tier player. I kinda feel like most of these fuckboys accusing you of foul play are just a bunch of weak men that feel threatened by a girl being better than them. The minute private negotiations go public, negotiations are over. There has to be another way. Most drafters keep a running scoreboard as they play the event. Maybe you could do that too. Truthfully, your winrate is reflective of your play more than the deck. Ash you may be the best player on BO3 arena. Make your ability to make the deck sing the draw (like limited streamers do) and less about the deck.

The win rates don’t seem that unbelievable. I don’t know why people get that way. I’m 120/18 in best of 3 with my main deck. It’s a similar win rate. If you have a good deck and you know how to play it, the win rate reflects that. I’d be unlikely to ever have that kind of win rate with say… cookies though. That’s your pet deck, not mine. And your win rate on your pet deck is usually going to be insane. Anyway, all that said, people should also just be nice. 😂

Wtf? Like seriously? People aren't taking the win rate at her word? That's insane. I'm sorry, but I've never heard Ashlizzlle once say you HAVE to craft one of her decks. You choose what you want to craft. That is incredibly frustrating, that someone as incredibly successful as Ash has to come out on her own channel and ask for trust, and that people have insinuated that she is trying to get them to waste wild cards. Is she hacking your computer or phone and hitting the button for you? No? Then make decisions for yourselves, it's not that hard.
I'm not that good of a magic player and when I watch players I sit there and try to think through what I would do, it's why I appreciate when players talk out their thoughts. Some decks I watch and go, nope i absolutely do not think this deck will work for me. I think most can watch gameplay footage and at least make that determination. Creators such as and especially Ashlizzlle are not having you waste your wild cards. Rant over.
Thanks for the video Ash! Congrats on your Game Knights live win!

As someone who has played both magic:online and Arena, I completely believe Ash's win rate ...but its important to note that arena has LONG been accused of shady practices. They have openly stated they have code to give a better balance in hands by trying to give a balance between spells and lands and trying to give all colors in lands....but somehow only people on their creator list and high spenders seem to have it consistently work in their favor. It does fail , but no where near as often as free to play players. High spenders and creators have a crazy high chance of going first, with most of them going first around 75% of game while I've counted games from me and friends who are free to play going first in around 25% of games. You do need to realize most of these decks have much lower win rates for average players. Don't make decks based off creators if you aren't spending money, instead go with decks that have proven to have high win rates for the entire community. That said, still love your videos ash.
