Yes, I understand what you mean. But people from other styles especially people from northern styles in Japan don’t know any southern styles because they tend to overweigh Ki or mysterious power than physical strength and they decided southern arts are only physical strength by reading comic or wushu south fist. My point is it is careless thought to judge which style is superior or inferior without fighting 100 or more people from one particular style. Of course strong belief in what you following is important though we should not judge what you are doing is always the best. Or what is the best and in Kung Fu Panda ancient way of saying there is no the best. I think it’s not to say it is the best but it must be said it is that I just like most. Martial arts especially traditional arts are very cult to me because many people tend to fall into biased perspective by believing what they follow is the best. Bruce was the one who tried to teach us it was so stupid. And he never introduced one particular style to be popular. So do Jackie Chan or Sammo Hung used to be. They never tried to insist one particular art is the best. I have asked to teach many who already study other styles. I’m so wondering why they don’t satisfy with what you are following now. Usually those jerks who try to learn so many styles will failed. So rather than studying other arts, they should watch themselves in their eyeballs in miller first.

Yes. It s all very cultic But Bruce was a self created person to a large degree and that does no fit well with the Confucianist hierarchical thinking of the Chinese and gung fu schools where you have a si hing etc and have to know your place in the order of things So he was very western in some respects and purported to follow Krishnamurti who was also a kind of philosophical renegade. Any way did not mean to disparage Northern styles which are much different in their training methodologies Some people say “All gung fu is One” And why not look at it that way. You adapt what you learn to your own body. Who would try to use Ba ji on a Sumo wrester if you only weigh 150 lbs 😂

Yes, Bruce got into more Daoism. That showed how he never got into one particular style and never fit conservative hierarchical thinking. Of course training and believing one style to get skill is very important but it just for one’s improvement but not for judging superiority and inferiority in styles and spreading it in the world. I never liked him before but now I understand what he tried to say and to teach. I don’t belong to any Kung fu hierarchical group now so I have no si hin in or sifu. I think those hierarchical system was created later than what the real traditional art was used to be. My idea is Kung Fu used to be more like Daoism emphasizing freedom of individuals. But later in somehow Kung Fu was dominated by conservative hierarchical thinking of confusionism for business??? That’s the reason why there are so many trouble there. Daoism way is similar to what Japan used be also but not anymore though. Japanese arts are more like recent conservative following stupid rule world also.
