Thanks for uploading nice Afro music, can you please upload a song called J Olulo Omuga by L' Orchestra D O 7 Shirati jazz band ,the song is there on iTunes but the sound quality is very poor ,please upload it for us
What is other wise a great recording, was ruined with the none human sounding drum machine, which unfortunately became the dominant sound within Soukous music.
No, that's not it. You need to learn the actual history of how rumba and soukous was created and its transition into Paris. Most people think Soukous was created in Paris but that's far from the truth. There's nothing particularly bad or good about a drum machine. It's just another way of sequencing rhythmic sounds in a timely manner.
@@dooobyscoo4569 I used to listen to original sounding 1970s Soukous. And it sounded much better than what was being produced for western audiences during the 1980s and 1990s, to whom it was aimed at. I am sorry but the drum machine sounds to mechanical for my liking, it just does not sound right.
@@siatelecomsltdLondon You think so? From my knowledge, musicians used drum machines when they couldn't afford studio musicians, but majority was played by trap drums. Live versions were often better because they were raw. Drum machines are used now in present day in African Music. Since we live in the digital area, musicians just use their computer to make beats.
The first time I heard this song must have been 1991 and I it stuck with me to date. It is a maste piece.
Great stuff
One of my favourite songs in childhood. Finally found it today after searching for 20 years. Didn't know that Nyboma sang in the background.
