Hopefully, within a season or two, I can join them on one of these tours. 🙂

As a "groundhopper" myself, the only thing I can't stand is when people are judgemental of others. People have their own rules of what they count, when they consider they have "completed" a league and so on. That's fine, but let everyone just decide for themselves and don't judge others. Thankfully it's just a tiny minority doing that, but I can't stand these people. It's just a hobby in the end of the day.

Be fun to pick a team in a league and follow them away. It would definitely add an emotional connection especially if they are challenging for promotion or fighting relegation. Just my take. However, football can be interesting as a neutral just getting to know the history of the clubs, their ambitions and of course, the towns/ villages they come from. I haven't been a proper grounghopper but even I have expanded my usual game or two in a country to a little tour.eg. in moldova, Ireland and Thailand ...and baseball in Korea ( but also I've baseball groundhopped in the US..been to 18 out of 32 mlb stadiums, been to games in Mexico, Dominican Republic, taiwan and Japan., and one in puerto rico. Currently , following LG twins while in south korea ( been to 62 games out of 65.....those missing 3 down to not pre booking buses, and arriving too late.it definitely becomes a habit...and I feel guilty if I miss one ( for no good reason) I am a tourist here so I think it's silly to watch on TV. When I can be in a stadium ( and feeling like I am doing something) what makes all this possible is the cost...games are not 50 euros like in the premiership. The baseball is typically 7 euros in the cheap seats...add in the same amount for food, drink and travel ( locally) means its a very affordable day out.

never knew it was a such big thing until british youtubers came over to ireland to cover the dublin derby which i never knew existed. LOI Soccer and it will become clear why i call it that gets little coverage in ireland from the Mainstream media, its all gaelic football, hurling ,rugby and racing and in terms of soccer its the national teams and PL.British groundhoppers promote the local league in ireland without even knowing it.
