Canada has a significant role to play in sourcing the materials needed for the energy transition, but also as an innovation leader in green technologies. Considering the challenges of coordinating national and provincial efforts, how can Canada harmonize its policies to favour cooperation over competition between provinces, and promote a unified approach to achieving a resilient and sustainable green economy? How can Canada leverage its natural resources and existing industries, such as mining, forestry, and energy, to support the transition toward sustainability without compromising economic growth? What strategy can Canada adopt to better embed its commercial role in the green economy value chain, and to reinforce its relationship with the USA?
Discussion during the 30th Conference of Montreal, featuring Ariane Bourassa, Head Sustainability and ESG Strategy, TMX Group Limited ; Jeanette Jackson, CEO, Foresight Canada ; Olivier Joyal, Executive Vice President Client Program & ESG Leader, WSP ; Denis Geoffroy, Chief Commercialization Officer, Nano One Materials ; Sachin Jari, Head of Mining North America, Process Industries, ABB and Roelof-Jan Steenstra, President and CEO, Ports Toronto.
