Can I take a ermine frosted cake for a picnic outdoors? I will go at 9 am and eat the cake at noon. I will make it vegan with vegan margarine and soy milk. I could put it in a cooler. Thank you for your response

@@SweetestBanana great question and good to know. I always have several cans in my pantry. I've only made Ermine frosting once. I liked it because it's not too sweet but I do have a question. Can you flavor the frosting using something other than an extract? Like with Swiss Meringue you can add up to a 1/4 cup of say Biscoff, peanut butter, chocolate, etc without it affecting the consistency of the buttercream. How about fruits? I don't mind using extracts but if I can I'd much rather use the other mediums. Thanks in advance...
@@SweetestBananacan you take a blow torch or blow dryer (hair dryer) to the mixing bowl? I've had to do that a few times when I made SMBC. Worked every time for me. Just want to make sure the same process can apply for this particular buttercream. Thanks...

At what point do you add the vanilla? And can it be coloured like any other frosting
She appears to add it after it is all incorporated and nice and smoothly finished. Added the vanilla and gave it a short mix to blend well.

It happens when your butter is too cold, when it does place your bowl on a water bath while mixing until the edges start to melt
