  • Aniruddha Sharma, Chair and CEO of Carbon Clean, explains the importance of carbon capture in the decarbonizing of hard-to-abate sectors such as shipping.
By leveraging our partners’ innovative technologies and modular solutions, like Carbon Clean’s modular point-source carbon capture technology, we can continue to deliver industry leading ready-to-build eMethanol facilities that are quicker to fabricate, transport, construct, and commission.
    About the partnership:
Liquid Wind and industry leaders Alfa Laval, Carbon Clean, Siemens Energy and Topsoe strengthen their collaboration in a partnership to accelerate eFuel production capacity to enable significant reductions of CO2 emissions in hard-to-abate industries such as the maritime sector.
The partnership mission is to become and maintain the role as the preferred supplier of modularized and standardized eFuel plants (also referred to as Core eMethanol Plants, CMP) to produce eMethanol with a nominal capacity of 100,000 tons eMethanol per year in the Nordic Market.
This production capacity means doubling the volume to be produced relative to Liquid Wind’s first, and Europe’s currently largest, eMethanol plant project, FlagshipONE with a capacity of 50,000 tons, which was sold to energy company Ørsted and where construction of the plant started in May 2022.
The partnership includes plans of developing and marketing 10 additional eMethanol facilities in the Nordics by 2027.
With the shared vision of creating a world that no longer relies on fossil fuels, the partnership aims to reduce the time, cost, and risk of developing and executing CMP’s.
