Hello, mix engineer here. Fitting your vocals isn’t black&white , compression, eq and having a ear trained helps with the process. Recording vocals should have a little room for the effects and other mixing/mastering process later so rule of thumb is like -20 db - -12 db

@@slime_wav thanks man, I’ve been making music for a little and I try to aim for my peaks to hit at -10db. I honestly just wanted to see what gunnrs process was. I know there’s a trick in Fl where you can sidechain your vocals to patcher and that can get it pretty well. I just need to keep working on it. Thank you again though
