Hi Joe, My prostate cancer journey started at psa of 100. Diagnosed w/stage 4 w/metasis of bones. I’m Vietnam vet exposed to agent orange. I’ve had 6 rounds chemo&on daily meds. As of July 24 cancer is terminal. It’s a tough journey,stay focused,keep the faith. Good luck!
Good luck, Joe. I just got a routine blood test (yearly physical) and I'm 72. I read the results online and everything was pretty normal (cholesterol a little high) but my PSA had jumped. In February of 2023 my PSA was about 2.59 and in about 16 months it is now 4.5. My doc's office called and the gal said he wanted me to come in to "go over my test results". Well, he's never called like that before so I am presuming it's about the PSA. I think I have an enlarged prostate so I am hoping that's what's going on but I suspect I will be getting some tests. Anyway, thanks for the video and - again - good luck with this thing.
My Urologist said if the secretary calls it is good news, if he calls it is bad news. 3 days later the urologist calls. Last year my PSA was 5.79, my P.A. didn't say a thing so I thought "everything is good so I don't have to worry about prostate cancer. This A year later I made sure to have my check up with a D.O. instead of a P.A. and my PSA was 5.2. Had the PSA redone at a different hospital and the PSA was 4.7. Urologist had an MRI done and he used it to guide for the biopsy. My Urologist said if the secretary calls it is good news, if he calls it is bad news. 3 days later the urologist calls. Biopsy results were Gleason score of 4+3=7 and 4+4=8. Had slides to a different lab and they came back 4+4+8 and 4+5=9. I'm pretty pissed off at that P.A. guy. Lesson learned you have to make sure a PSA is included with the yearly blood test (there is a 3 year gape in my PSA results before the one done 2 years ago. Lesson 2 you have to look at the results yourself and can't depend on doctors of P.A.'s to say anything.
I went to my doctor because I had a hernia, while I was there I enquired about a PSA test. I had no problems at all with my waterworks but he agreed and said if you don’t hear from me everything’s fine. A week after my test he phoned and told me my PSA is 10.7 and arranged for the urology team to take over. One week later an MRI scan. A week after that a consultation with the urologist then the biopsy then the confirmation that I was Gleason 7, 4+3. I’ve opted for ADT plus radiation. Fortunately my cancer is ‘organ confined’ so I’m told it can be cured. I’m 73 and start my radiation in 8 weeks. Wish me luck. ( still have the hernia ) Incidentally, after I was diagnosed I asked the urologist should I not have asked for the PSA test and just carried on with my life because of my age, he said I definitely did the right thing. He said if I’d come to him two years later it would have been a different story.

Im pulling for you Joe. I got a 6 PSA report, saw Urologist and waiting for appointment for MRI. Working with doctors at the VA and its takes too long to get an appointment. I see you have a fairly new channel. I also have metastatic stage 4 prostate cancer that has been ongoing for several years. I have so far refused being medically neutralized. No one knows what the future holds but I wish you the best!

good luck. I started with a psa of 13 - went to 15 - then 17. I might consider a PSMA which targets prostate cancer. Did you do a standard random biopsy or a targeted biopsy? One (1) lesion?
I know it's hard but try not worrying till you definitely know something. You are not alone and if you need support or any questions just ask. I strongly suggest the book that I talked about on video 10. It really helped me. Best wishes and please continue you to let us know about your journey.
Hi Joe! I’d like to email you. I’m 59 and facing the ever dreaded prostate biopsy. I was wondering if you could send me your email address so I could ask you some questions and kinda get some information about it. I appreciate your time.
Quite by chance I found out that i had Prostate cancer at Christmas through a slight rise in my PSA. (I am 68 and teach spinning 7 hours a week which can cause a higher than average score). It was at 5,2 but went down a month later to 4.8 but my urologist insisted on a MRI that came back PRADIS 5. this was followed by an ultrasound scan and a urine flow test , cat scan for my tissues and a radio body scan for my bones. Then I had the dreaded biopsy and it passed without a hitch. I went to the hospital in the morning and was prepared with drip and general anaesthetic placed in a most undignified position and the next thing I knew I was waking up to orange juice and breakfast. Within half an hour I was walking and going to the toilet. There was a lot of blood for about a week in both urine, semen and stools and although no pain it was uncomfortable for about 5 days. My result came back 3.4. I really appreciate it. I get a biopsy on Friday and a pet scan on Monday. This will reveal how bad the cancer has spread and best way to treat it.

Targeted biopsy, had a mri first. It's way better than just blindly getting a biopsy. I had one lesion according to the mri.

Without a Gleason score, you cannot know you gave cancer.
Thought it is in video. 2 no cancer, 3 have 6 3+3,1 is 7 3+4.
