This is a great transcription...thanks for this Ricardo - well done!
Beautiful playing Benny!!!! Really enjoying your livestreams from smalls from Australia. Take care man!
You play precisely in the style of Clifford or Lee Morgan and... It's beautiful.
I swear his improvisation is in a whole different league compared to everyone else. His ideas are so singable and tasty, somehow manages to leave me speechless
hehe thanks Julian - I tend to agree :P
I remember watching this episode of Emmett Cohen's show thinking "Man, that trumpet solo on was burning!" Thanks for transcribing! Benny Barnack was on fire on this take!
That Indiana Jones quote
And Emmet seamlessly finishing the line
Beautiful solo and great transcription. I love Benny’s soloing it sounds exactly like he’s scatting down the trumpet (excuse the expression) - so full of emotion and exactly how you would sing it yourself.
I worked with your Grandfather at the Fellow's Club in Pittsburgh back in the late 60's early 70's!! He was a Great player and a good man!
All the best!
Rick Evans
I'm back for another listen and this solo is really cookin'.
Hes got like a clifford brown kinda sound its so good
Maestro in trumpet
I can not stop dancing~~~
You can definitely tell when cats did their research in listening to the great swing players of their instrument.
What a rad solo. His language and feel is SO tasty. Thanks for doing the transcription and video!!
Lovely transcription!
Beautiful solo!
Oh my ....loved it
This is really amazing there is so much to learn from this
Thank you very much
Bravo
holy shit
wonderful! thank you
bellissimo solo
good solo, good story.
Love it
U got it
I definitely hear some “Sweets” Edison in this solo. Not any specific riffs necessarily, more so that sense of taking one’s time and using bluesy repetition and vocal effects to really tell a story.
Quotes Nutty at the end and maybe McCoy Tyner’s Inception but that could just be coincidental.
Is this transcription available for concert instruments?
that indiana jones quote lol
I love the rest of the band finishing the Indiana Jones riff while Benny moves on. Such a cool conversational moment.
holy shit
