Kid Rock came out in the late 80s as strictly a hip hop act. His big break of an album was released in the mid 90s(Devil Without a Cause), it was still heavily hip hop but had rock & country elements also. It was such a huge success all of his albums since have been mashups of all music Genres. Kid Rock is very telented and can play in any genre.
My pops took me to a Kid Rock concert when I was in 2nd grade 😅 he played every instrument on stage from guitar to drums to piano to steel guitar! After the show me and my bro met him in front of the stage and shook his hand. Unforgettable moment 🙌🏼
I’m not much of a kid rock fan but this is my favorite by him. Metal rap is so much fun! “It’s all good and it’s all in fun; NOW GET IN THE PIT AND LOVE SOMEONE!” Another great one to run to!
When "Picture" was released people were very confused about a rap metal artist and a pop singer coming together and recording a country song. It was weird and we loved it.
There are so many freaking awesome songs by Kid Rock, too many to name but check out, Amen and Let’s Ride, to start. Kid Rock just keeps it real man. He steps up and just lays it out there ❤️❤️
I had not paid much attention to Kid Rock and I am not a big country music fan. But, I am a fan of country music show called Crossroads. They pair a country act with a rock act for an hour of them singing each other songs together. I turned it on one night to find Kid Rock performing with Hank Williams, Jr. Frankly, I was blown away by both of them. Didn't turn me into a total country fan but I certainly appreciated both artists more than I had in the past.
It's funny how many people don't know that Kid Rock was a hip hop artist from Detroit. He came up with Eminem(a little before him actually), and Eminem actually appeared on this album. His first album: Grit Sandwiches For Breakfast was strictly hip hop, and Devil Without a Cause was his breakout with 2 albums in between.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! Love me some KID! So happy your diving into Kid Rock!! So so many freaking great songs from Kid Rock!! My heart is happy!!
He has some haters but I think he's awesome! Love his songs and his was one of the best concerts I've been to. He has many more songs to check out...start with Only God Knows Why 🔥🔥
He definitely puts on an excellent concert & has such an extensive catalog of songs & is about to come out with a new release with 26 new songs that’s suppose to have something for everyone 🤘🤘🤘
“I don’t know what I’m listening to right now.” 😂😂😂 kid rock explained perfectly! My older brothers showed me him when I was a little girl and this song and Cowboy have stuck with me through my life!
Yeah Kid Rock was an Underground MC Raoper...Did Freestyle Rap Battles too!...In the 90's he had a memeber of his crew name was Lil Joe he was kinda like the mascot of Kid Rock Shows etc...He passed away then he transitioned into country I guess....
"Only God Knows Why" is a song of his you should listen too -- totally different kind of sound, but really good -- it makes you think about life -- where you've been and where you're going Kid Rock - Only God Knows Why [Official Music Video]
His album devil without a cause was his breakthrough, rap/rock made him popular. Then he moved to rock then country and he just released a new album which has all of it, hip pop, rock, country and rap
One more fun fact. If you ever get a chance, watch the pilot of “The Shield” (circa 1999) one of the best cop shows at the time. At the end of the pilot, they play out the final insane scene w this song. It’s just insane what they do and you know you’re in for a helluva ride with this show. I’ve never seen anything like it. I was hooked. Great show.
Good fun to sing this in your poshest British accent too 🤣 "Ba with the ba, the bang the bang, diggy diggy diggy said the boogie, said up drop the boogie." 🧐
This song was released on the album titled "Devil Without a Cause" in August of 1998. The title of the album must be a variation of the movie from 1955 called "Rebel Without a Cause" 😀.
Love this. It's catchy, for sure! Put a label in his music isn't easy; he is multi talented. Can play multiple instruments. Thanks for a your reaction. I really enjoyed it! ¡Saludos y hasta luego! ✌️ 🇪🇸🇸🇪
Hey Jovaughn- Please react to another huge hit of his called “Cowboy.” Don’t let the title fool you- Kid Rock is mainly hip hop/ rap- however, he can do just about anything-he is VERY close with Hank Williams JR.. They’ve performed a lot together- and also just hang out- “Picture” very likely led you to automatically think of a more country vibe - remember, never judge only from 1 or 2 songs- The song “Cowboy” and “All Summer long”, please- 💙👍✌️🤘🏼
The look on your face when the beat dropped!!! Lmao! Bawitdaba sounds a little like 'run with the ball'. To encourage or even 'cheer for' thinking about how 'In a godda davida' = a drunken 'in the garden of Eden'.
Kid Rock is more Hip-hop and rock. He just crossed over towards country. But country is not his main genre. lol. Check out Sheryl's music too. She is also not country.
This song came out the year before my now 20 year old niece was born. We played this song all the time when she was learning to stand and walk... you should have seen her bouncing when the refrain came on. Just hilarious!!!!
I remember working in a hotel on a resort island. After closing time,my coworkers would put this album on, and jam to it every night.. Well about a year later, I broke down and bought the CD myself. Proud I had something nobody else knew about. The very next night, Jud Rock was live on MTV. Suddenly, everybody had his CD. 😐
My friend Gort Horton had the same reaction to this song!!! Don't confuse him with Gort Morton, though, whom I don't even know. Or Mort Morton, whom I went to school with, but that was a long time ago. Or Morton J. Gortenson, whose name really isn't all that similar if you think about it.
Kid rock was definitely influential in blending rock metal and rap with that southern twist and he’s stayed consistent in views of freedom never was a fan of his later more country songs but he has many classic album s goin way back
Kid Rock is the guy we all love but nobody will admit it. We all rocked to this shit back in the day and nobody can explain why. It happened. We don't talk about it.
I saw Kid Rock/Aerosmith in Tacoma 20 years ago. I expected Aerosmith to be great (they were) but Kid Rock absolutely stole the show for me, he played every instrument on the stage and just killed. Love the classic rock medley.
Kid Rock takes rock, rap, country, throws it all into a blender and comes up with a sound all his own.
Country-fried rap rock
Indeed
Don't forget Blues & soul
American bad ass.
“This doesn’t sound like country.”
I loved watching your face light up.
That was my thought too!! The surprise and awe!
It pains me to hear people say that 😂

yeah genre breaking fosho
His early stuff is pretty funny with songs like "balls in your mouth"
1998
Devil WIthout a Cause is such a classic. Peak Kid Rock.
Ryan Upchurch too :) I'm sure Bob influenced him!
I loved that you thought it would be country. I couldn't wait to see your reaction and hear your thoughts. It's a great song.
Back when kid rock was down and Rap Metal was still a thing

He caught us all by surprise too. We enjoyed the ride and love a good kid rock song.
You definitely had me laughing in this one. You tried to pronounce song title in the beginning had me rolling.
Ya'll better leave my Jay alone! 😄😄
@@naturally953 he's one of my favorite reactors. Just messing around.
Same lol and then the second laugh when he was expecting a country song.

That was great! Love me some Kid Rock! You should try “Only God Knows Why” or “All Summer long”
When "Picture" was released people were very confused about a rap metal artist and a pop singer coming together and recording a country song. It was weird and we loved it.
Another great song by Kid Rock is 'I Am The Bullgod'. It has the rap / rock beat to it also.
I am the Bullgod excellent !!!
You need to check out "Cowboy" from the same album.
Agreed!!! 👍🤠
The reason why Picture which Kid Rock did wity Sheryl Crow was so different from this is because this is a bit of Kid's earlier material
There are so many freaking awesome songs by Kid Rock, too many to name but check out, Amen and Let’s Ride, to start. Kid Rock just keeps it real man. He steps up and just lays it out there ❤️❤️
Best reaction ever!!! "I DON'T KNOW WHAT I'M LISTENING TO RIGHT NOW "😂😂😂😂😂👏👏👏👏👏👏

Kid Rock - Only God Knows Why [Official Music Video]
The only musician to EVER call the IRS "Bastards" in a nationally radio played song.
This song was always playing in parking lots late at night where the hopped up cars hung out in the early 90's. :)
Kid Rock is a giant mix of rock, rap, metal, funk, electric, r&b, and soul. That’s why I love him.
!!! love your reaction !! kid rock is crazy fun
I get a kick out of when people go “I thought he sang country music?” Me: You poor poor thing. He was not country in 1999😂When rock met rap…
Ki is a riot, seems he can do it all. Picture was great also
Ya man this came out of know where. This track woke me up. The groove is incredible. Kid is the man. Totally original!! Baller
I've seen him twice in concert. He can play every instrument they got. Sooo talented!!
“I’m guessing it’s a country song”
Boy, you’re in for a big surprise. 😂
Again you amaze me with the songs no one else touches!! ❤️❤️
One of my favorite ever Kid Rock songs.
His album devil without a cause was his breakthrough, rap/rock made him popular. Then he moved to rock then country and he just released a new album which has all of it, hip pop, rock, country and rap
You made me laugh with your "country song" comment! Rock/Hip Hop combo. Nailed it.
I love Kid Rock. ❤ . My favorite is Going to New Orleans. Loved your reaction 💕. Thx for sharing.

"Cowboy" - KId Rock.
Kid is one of a kind, no doubt. I’ve seen him in concert and he did not disappoint!!
That made me laugh “ I guess it’s gonna be a country song” This is the Kid rock that we know

This song always makes me want to watch, READY TO RUMBLE! Lol!
Lmao great reaction! Kid Rock is a badass
It's also important to add kid rock plays multiple instruments. He's got a bar in Nashville and was married briefly to Pamela Anderson.
Cowboy and American bad ass are great also, he has a bunch of great songs!
Country 🤣 ty I needed that.
You had me rotflmao, when you innocently implied you were expecting a nice mellow country song 🤣
I love seeing your reaction! This is my favorite song of his.
I have not heard him in so long. Good reaction video.

I mean, it's sort of a given when his surname is "Rock". lol

This is what made him famous. It’s what he was best at. He came from Detroit and opened for hip hop/rap acts too
You really can't put Kid Rock in a box musically. He dabbles in rock, country and rap.
The thing that really made this song was the series opener to The Shield. And the song certainly made that scene.
His song “Cowboy” was great ♥️
dude is GREAT in concert… entertaining
"I'm guessin' its a country song."
Lmfao xD Kid Rock started as a rock/hip-hop artist.
Bawitdaba, da bang, da dang diggy diggy, diggy, said the boogie, said up jump the boogie.
Makes perfect sense. 🤷♀️
that was the perfect reaction to the bawitdaba... turn it up for the ride and GO
He has a song with Snoop Dogg..very explicit but so fun! It's called WCSR off Kid's album Cocky.
Hehehe… “This don’t sound country so far…” Your so fun to watch react! 😂
Now you've gotta listen to the whole album! This song was only the first track.
Lol you guys are funny. Kid Rock has been doing it all for a long time. He is AWESOME
Kids a rapper / rocker ...dabbles in the outlaw country world. He has lots of hats - And ,he does them all well.
Kid Rock started out as a rapper before he moved into this nu metal rap rock style. He's now more known for his southern rock/outlaw country mix.

Gotta listen to “Cowboy” next.
“I’m guessing it’s a country song”, lol
"Only God knows why" and "Jackson, Mississippi" should be next for sure....
Rap metal was definitely an interesting genre
Great reaction..u should check out only god knows why by kid rock. You BUTCHERED the title lol

Kid Rock is so good! Love him. 💖💖
I love your initial reactions to this - LOL.
Kid Rock is the guy we all love but nobody will admit it. We all rocked to this shit back in the day and nobody can explain why. It happened. We don't talk about it.
Or check out American badass. Another banger
This was the shit when it came out, but there was Limp Bizkit doing the same and Eminem towering over them lol
I miss this late ‘90s rap/rock sound
I saw Kid Rock/Aerosmith in Tacoma 20 years ago. I expected Aerosmith to be great (they were) but Kid Rock absolutely stole the show for me, he played every instrument on the stage and just killed. Love the classic rock medley.
Always loved this one!
I got to see him live in concert. He's awesome
My fav by Kid is Only God Knows Why. Check it out!! I relate to it sooo much! Cowboy - official video is best, another great song! You tell us....
