    Myself belongs to banjara community. We live in Karnataka where we are known as lambani community. We are devotees of 'Sant Sevalal maharaj'. We are no more nomads. We have settled in villages which is also called as Taandas and our main occupation is agriculture. Most of the government jobs are acquired by our community and we are living very prosperous life. Also 3 MLA's are in Karnataka assembly. Our traditional costumes are liked by most of the people which is called as ' Phetya and chantya'. I'm proud that our community is discussed in this platform. Thank you ❤️

    I'm a Gaur banjara, our people are settled all over the India, My ancestors are mainly from Rajasthan region but after many expeditions & occupation of invaders our ancestors became very weak and left the land to protect their children, and settled down.
    Many kshatriya banajara moved under the rule of a hindu rulers and fought against mughals under them, we also refer ouselves as the "Vanshaj of Maharan Pratap"
    And we are not as nomadic as you believe my Great grand father was a Jagirdar and had 18 villages under his control, this is something which nomadic people don't do
    Some banjara who were peasants they are still living in a pure nomadic style.

      Basically what I know sir that Banjaras were the Elite DANCERS in Royal Crown Courts and Various Palaces and also in Various Hindu Temples like Somnath Temple..
      They were actually Artist who Entertain the Common People as well the Kings at that time Bharat dont have Television for Entertainment hence their Art Shows actually acted as a Television for many Peoples.
      Later on When Mughal Invasion Started Many Hindu Women (Majority of them were Banjaras Community) were Kidnapped and Transported them to the ARAB WHOREHOUSES and Later on they were Dumped into Central Asia,Russia and Europe.

    I hope u were more specific and had more detailed explanation with regard to this particular question because you are addressing a population of “12CRORE” which isn’t a small figure for sure.
    Why wouldn’t you quote the way this tribe fought until they were left with nothing against British Invasion and how they were destitute to become homeless as they were opposing to pay taxes against their rightful trades…??? They were called by derogatory terms like “gypsies” by British and were also called “habitual criminals” under under CTA (criminal tribes act) because they were successfully supplying arms to freedom fighters even under strict radar… why would anybody call them gypsies??? When they have their own rich culture tradition and language. When they had high morals and courage to fight for ethically right things. They did so even at the cost of being completely destroyed by British…and after those cunning British left now our own country people address them as low caste or Dalit just because they are put under OBC\SC\ST (different states have different category for them) due to their economical conditions… and as u said I haven’t seen any Banjara homeless in current scenario.
    I’m sorry to say but I’m disappointed with your vague answer!!! People are counting on you Mr Chavda

    I'm a banjara.I feel as good as any other community of India would feel. When I was a kid I was told that our ancestors left Rajasthan ages ago but I thought they were just making up stories. But as I grew up i thought I should know where do I actually belong to or my ancestors did.
    Lately I learnt that they migrated to several parts of India.they lived a nomadic life for ages. And today our village where we live is named after one of my ancestor (5th generation).I just hope the culture and language of our community won't be lost just like the real history did.as we have no script . Part of the language is already lost. I myself can't speak like my grandparents.

    Banjara here from Karnataka sir...thanks for your explanation...we banjaras still use the surnames chauhan, rathod, pawar, jadhav etc...nd the language we speak here in Karnataka, Maharashtra, andhrapradesh, Telangana is the north western rajashtani dialect...which we still use...it clearly tells us that we were originally from the north western part of Rajasthan nd at some point of time..we migrated from their nd adopted a nomadic life style, we were the traders during mughal nd British period...we used to trade food grains, salt...nd spread all over India... especially south of India...so we got rhe name lamanis( in Sanskrit lavana= salt)... coming to the rehabilitation of banjaras...here in KA, MH,TL,AP, banjaras have settled,nd their settlements are called as tandas..nd have been included in SC, ST or OBC categories...so banjaras are getting into the mainstream society now..with upward movement of educational nd economic status..i don't know what's the condition of banjaras in other states in north..if they are still nomadic rhen govts should help them in settling at one place..nd should provide them with employment nd other basic amenities....

    Hi sir, for a long time I have been inquisitive about my genetic origins. I am from Odisha where people normally have very Southeren Features such as dark skin etc. However me coming from an odia karana family which is also known as kayastha I am tall, have very fair skin, light eyes and ginger hairs comming out of my beard which arent common traits in Odisha. Does that mean I have afghani or greek genetics despite my whole family having odia roots? Desperate to know your opinion on this. Sir, thank you?

    • @vratislavgoldie7386
      @vratislavgoldie7386 3 роки тому +2

      Oh so another "White" wanna be. Listen dude there are barely any greek or afghani genetics in punjab itself, so the question of having such genetics in odisha which is completely on the east is very much negligible. Coming to everyone in odisha havig dark skin, not really, it also has a caste angle, if ur from ST ,SC like "chasa",u are most likely going to have a dark skin. But if u are from Brahman,Karna or Higher Khandayat (Non chasa khandayat) then chances are high to look lighter. U need to know why u are asking this question, if u are asking this question to genuinely know ur ancestry then i have given u the answer. Dont fall for this inferiority complex or trying to be "white" even though u are not, it makes things looking awkward, there are many indians who claim to be such to somehow associate themselves to central asains , afghans,etc. Since i am from odisha as well , i gave u the answer based on odisha. if u still dont believe me get an ancestry test , find out ur ancestry and ur haplogroups and update me as a well. The possibility of u having afghan genes etc unless u have any immediate afghan relative is then very less.
