Tampa Theatre Restoration 2017: Lobby

It's a little-known fact that most 1920s movie palaces - including Tampa Theatre - did not open with a concessions stand. We didn't get our first until the 1930s, and the large stand with the stained-glass canopy that so many are familiar with was added in 1976.
As part of our 2017 historic restoration work, the Theatre is removing that 1970s concessionss stand and replacing it with one that is much more low-profile, to allow the architecture of the lobby to shine. And believe us: once all of the plaster is repaired and paint restored, shine it will!
