Hey Chris! I work at a Nike Outlet in Australia and last week before we started one day in the ‘huddle’ we have before we go on the shop floor they addressed the Kyrie issue in case customers asked. From memory the official statement said that the partnership was terminated and we would receive Kyrie products until stock lasted and they had stopped production. They also said the 8 was cancelled! Could have changed but that’s what head office told us at Nike aus!

Yea nike tripping on this kyrie has been my favorite shoes to hoop in over the past 5 years they always dlreliable and its always a perfect balance with court feel and comfort and traction
For Chris to say that about Kyrie and his game makes me so happy as a fan of Kyrie. Regardless of the issues of Kyrie. He is still one of the best ever.

I saw these in a dicks and legit thought they were a flytrap. Always loved the Kyrie line and it sucks that this is the potential last one

it could end up having a similar fate to what was supposed to be the Kobe 1 but ended up being the Huarache 2k5. Just rebrand it to a non signature shoe and sell it that way. I remember my all black pair of Huarache 2k5 had the Kobe Sheath logo on the tongue under the ankle collar strap.
He played in huarache 2k4 and 2k5 and hyperdunks before he got his first shoe
They got other athletes signed who still need a sig😉

True, I could also see Kyrie’s shoes being reworked into Morant’s upcoming sigs. Not like Nike/Jordan Brand has a shortage of marketable athletes
@@josephthompson2462 yeah I remember that too, I just thought the rumor was that the 2k5 was gonna be his first official release but then was name changed then the following yr turned into the Kobe 1. if you look at the 2k5 and the Kobe 1 there are a lot of similarities. Had both, great shoes.
Amazing what a few words written on social media can end what could've been a greater and longer legacy for both sides..
I've rocked with Nike since 1987. I own five different versions of Kyrie's. I'm not buying anything new from the company until they make it right with Kyrie.

They did A Great Job for his last shoe. Regardless if he didn’t approve or reject the design. This is Still a nice shoe overall. In my opinion!

Fyi Kyrie likes his shoes super stiff, the torque used on those crossovers and step backs calls for a super hard and stable upper. His favorite shoes were the Kyrie 2s and even the ones made for him were stiffer than the GR shoes when Zach foot doctor cut them open. The stiffness is something I think Kyrie wanted for his style of play
This is why Kyrie said he was upset about not having input into the design.
Kyrie should not have taken his frustration public. Nike stands with their partners. Even signed Ben Simmons this year when he wasn't playing. Kyrie burned the bridge
Def the last kyrie shoe Nike already announced that morant is up next for a signature this speeds that up
His Infinity shoot looked pretty sharp.

Could be the last Kyrie, but remember. It's just a name on the shoe. The shoes are made by the DESIGNERS. They will still make good shoes like this with or without a signature athelete That said I predict Ja Morant's line will be what will become the next great ballers shoe line.
But the designers make the shoe based of the athlete's playstyle and till now kyries shoe are one of the best
Hey brother, I am a footwear lead at Dick’s Sporting Goods, and We got the Kyrie 8, but we were told. Not to sell them and I had to ship them back out so we couldn’t even sell them before release day which was apparently December 31 so nowhere is going to sell them at least to my knowledge or maybe just Dick Sporting Good ‘s I’m not sure.
Jd sports sells them in store in certain states but not online , this whole thing is blown out of proportion. What a shame

The design/silhouette alone is spectacular. I love the simple yet complex look of the shoe. I will have to check these out myself. The review is relative, but a job well done, Chris! I just hope that Nike doesn’t Kanye his (Kyrie) line in the future.

Nike most likely will make the future Ja Morant line take the place of the Kyrie's, I mean the man been playing on Kyrie's all season were previously he wore only Kobe's
It looks like the Swoosh logo is setting like a sun in Nike Kyrie 8. The Anta Kai 1s shouldve Anta Logo looks like a rising sun lol

The swoosh branding gives React vibes, is it in the heel cushioning?
Actually yeah it does have react, so its different from its previous model.
If there was React in the shoe it would be labeled on the shoe or, at the very least, have design cues that make sure you know it’s React. There’s a Zoom Air strobel and it’s stated on the shoe.

I really hope not. The kyries are the best looking nike signature performance shoes atm, now tht the kobes are kind of on pause.
My question is if the partnership is officially done-done, is Kyrie required to wear his own sneaker as part of the original Nike deal and or will he be found using other sneakers? I am calling it now, but I feel Kyrie will be the first, Kobe estate Mamba player to the brand if his widow decides to create a brand.

I love weartester reviews but I have to disagree with this one. I absolutely love this shoe. It's lightweight and durable. Maybe my favorite Kyrie's yet. Also I wasn't a huge fan of the Infinity's but I loved the 7s.

I remember when the store I work at got in the NRG colorway of the LeBron 12 they had us send them back to Nike so they could update the 6 (Miami #) to 23 (Cleveland) changed the street date and then release them.
That wasn’t the reason why the 12s were recalled. The first few colorways had issues with the top eyelets breaking apart - they were made out of plastic grommets. They were recalled, fixed with meta grommets, and were sent back to stores for release.

For the first time, Flytraps looks better. Nike probably didn't even put any effort into these since they already were giving him the boot after he trashed last year's shoe.
I don’t think anyone else will pick him up. Are they even selling these? I thought they were cancelling his line effective immediately? I don’t think Nike will sell these or ship them to stores anymore.
