I know I haven't been a long time subscriber but HO-LEE-SHIT you nail it every single time! I actually get a very similar sound with my Quilter Tone Block 200 and a couple of pedals. I love, LOVE that unique amp sound. That distorted sound is killer! It's aggressive but distinct and crisp. I need one of these amps in my life!
@@ImpostorModanica - hey no prob it is a killer tone! There’s some great how to videos that show you how to wire up your pick-ups for that tone... its often referred to as the Peter Green tone (original guitarist for Fleetwood Mac).
I found out about R. J. about 9 years ago when he was (and still is to this day - got a notice yesterday where he demo'd a mandolin) doing demos for Eastwood guitars. Same format. Don't talk. Just show what the product can do. Maybe that's where he learned it.
If you guys wanna get a lot more of Mr. Ronquillo's fantastic playing (÷ a line on some really cool, well made, and reasonablely priced instruments) check out the UA-cam channel for Eastwood Guitars. He's been doing demos for their line for 9 years that I know of. It's how I found out about him, and, no, I'm not affiliated with Eastwood in any way, shape, or form. Just a BIG fan of both R. J. Ronquillo & Eastwood. :)
Really glad your doing a demo of this I'm looking for an alternative to Friedman's Dirty Shirley I don't need all the gain the DS has on tap Also a high but we'll worth it price tag So have been giving this a look Thanks RJ hope you give it your thoughts as well as your killer playing 👍 Hmmmnnnn have to say I think I like the Friedman better Thousand more better LoL 😂 Maybe yes What do you think RJ DS seems tighter on the bass response and maybe overall but still really really good Well for Fender style I can't find much to beat my CS Tonemaster Looking for something to take my 800s place Finally at the end Friedman's gain is better in my opinion Good cleans though 😝 Thank for the demo
Hey , does anyone own this amp? I just got it few days ago and i’d like to know if anyone else finds there’s alot of bass when you push the gain knob? I have to put the bass knob at 8-9 o’clock. I am running it through a 2x12 Morgan vertical cab with creambacks. Thanks
$1,900 USD for this amp head isn't all that unreasonable given Morgan's reputation. To be honest I was expecting it to be at least a few hundred more. Sounds amazing - too bad it would blast my windows into tiny pieces. :(
Mmmm, I would like to have heard a non master volume version... preamp gain doesnt do the character of KT 66's or any output tube for that matter, justice to how they really sound when pushed...Well made video regardless! No problems with your production... If we are really gonna hear sound differences, we need, in my opinion, to hear tube amps pushed. Otherwise we are just comparing hi fidelity output tube power amps....There is a whole Pandora's box, when one applies the old trick, of cranking or pushing the output section into overdrive... Then the real character of that output/power tube will reveal itself... just subjective opinion. Simply; cascading preamp tube gain, is quite a bit different than output tube gain...... I prefer the latter. So did Clapton in Cream, and early Edward Van
I want to like this amp but honestly hear nothing special in the tones from that amp in all the demos so far. Underwhelmed at best. Power scaling is a good feature though. Nice marketing blitz by Morgan as this amp is everywhere on YT.
Came for the amp... stayed for the playing!
That opening jam got me pregnant. Taking you to Maury to collect child support.
👍😁
@@RJRonquillo Did you make that track or get it somewhere? Must have...
Saw this amp on Morgan website came over here.... saw RJ.... yup another amp getting shown off.
Looks like RJ is grooving with the vibe on this one
Yes on the player, yes on that amp
Best amp review ever : not a single useless word but just raw playing talent
I really enjoy your style. Especially when you get out on the bleeding edge of control. The more you throw slick out the window the more I like it.
Damn, save some of those chops for the rest of us 🤘🤘🤘
Hahaha JayLeonardJ!
You two should collab on a review like this... Jay could make some cool noise with this amp, I think...
This is one of the best amp demos on UA-cam.
66’s are underrated. A buddy of mine has an SLO100 set up for KT66’s and it’s an absolute HAMMER.
Also that Kauer sounds SUPER cool!!!

Tonehenge grows again! Cheers R.J!!
I can’t unhear the underlying fizz. Useful in a mix no doubt though.
DOOD. The vibe on this one is off the charts! #slowclap
Awesome playing and demo. It really shows the versatility of the amp.
Holy moly what's that angelic sound at 2:06?? Never heard anything like that
ImpostorModanica - out of phase pick-ups
@@davomontgomeryda3rd Cool, thank you very much

@@davomontgomeryda3rd Kick ass. I've heard this name before, but now I got a voice to associate it to! :)
He's picking really close to the bridge too.
you never fail to inspire me man !
That's why I watch your demos, not alot of yapping and some good playing. Nice amp, I'll take one.

Some tasty playing there R J. Love it.
Nice playing, great sounding amp. 🎸
🦆 me sideways.. I like it a lot!
Thanks again for demo it man.
Can you do an update Studio Tour? What has changed, what is your recording setup. Thanks!
You had me at 02:29!
Quality amps. Appreciate the sounds, simplicity, and rugged build quality...LOVE THE LOOK!
tasty jam man
RJ, you sound great Brother 👍🏻👍🏻
Killer jam, time well spent.
Nice vid RJ! Joe builds a great amp.

That Titan guitar hipnotized me
Shades of Steely Dan my friend. Great playing.
Always insane playing! And I'm dying to try this amp somewhere.
Very true sounding. It chugs too. Nearly $1900.00
Dude is bad ass
Your playing ils so groove man

That's bad ass sounding amp
The twisted RS 🎸 is something... 😜! What ?? 👍🏻
Playing is f@cking outstanding. Amp is awesome 😎

You know its good when the squishy face comes out.
Tasty
Thought you’d be on your paisley strat getting the most out of the jtm 45 Hendrix tones
Great guitar player!
Backing track please?
Alright…. I want the backing track AND the tab!!

Power scaling should be on every amp
Love your playin! What‘s that black semi?
Very versatile amp! What cabinet was used in this demo? Was it a load box?
Gear aside... I just come to watch you play.
Odd question man, did the suhr logo come off of your amp on purpose and is it like a i don’t want to advertise for this company type deal?

It has power scaling to keep your windows intact.🤓
If I only had $1900 laying around
Use the Force bro..😎

Looking for good cheap American made pickups. Vat tax and 3 month waiting defeats the purpose

OP, what amp do you play?
Three commercial breaks during a 14:43 minute video! Unwatchable. What am I doing wrong?
Just fast forward all the way to the end and then replay the video - voila, no commercials.
@@joelhague5515 Thanks for the tip. I'll try that.
How about giving 2min of your time to support RJ's channel?
@@JeremyBeut ?? How does that work?
Oh, you mean sitting through minutes and minutes of mindless commercial content every time I watch a UA-cam video? No thanks.
