Awesome video. I once went and picked pinions. That was so long ago. But I remember cooking them and eating them. My mother made some kind of (?) mixture out of the nuts. I recall her using the grinding stones to crack the shells then sifting the shells away. It was a process. Her and dad would put it in their coffee and drink it. I didn't take part in that. But they seemed to enjoy it very much. Thanks for posting. Took me on a trip down memory lane.
Hell Yeah that Rez Sammich is Universal hahah. Much native love from an Akimel O'odham of Salt River AZ. I would love to learn how to pick and process pinions. My mother loves them. Maybe a visit sometimes Huh? Haha stay up bro 👊🏽
Like a peanut but, with a taste that comes from the pines and fat that is in them. Hard to explain when I don’t have any with me. Trust me best peanut you’ll ever have.

I love pinon. I will appreciate it even more now that I see the process. Have to order mine because I live in central Texas.
The process is laboring but, in facts pinions creates jobs. Economic at its core.

It was a great experience.
I get restless picking... But my mom loves to pick.
I want! I want! Please! The ones you picked. Thank you 🙏
They sold in an instant. Sorry
Watch out for cactus and tree gum and don't forget snakes. Mom had 5 kids, we went through a bag of blue bird flour once a week.
Scanning through the comments, I see that I'm not the only who sees the potential for rabbit "pinions" ending up in the sack 😂!
Hi from RI! You sure are handsome - great that you're keeping up with your native culture❣
Can't stand people littering -- discussed!!😡
So far away! Thank you. As no yay for the litter awareness.

They are pine nuts. Buttery, delicious. Way better than peanuts!
Where can I get some fresh piñon?????
Some people may still have some. Guess you can ask on a town that is on the boarder of the Rez and ask the online yard sale at those places.
