Even though I personally don't like buying used cars, I agree with this post. Buying a 3 year old MB, which still has the factory warranty, and the prior owner having taken the BIG depreciation hit, is the best course of action, financially. Used cars are always a crap-shoot, and I thus typically avoid them.
Problem of start stop is not you noticing but the fact you destroy your starter due to much higher number of cycles. It is really great to save several mls of fuel everytime it switches off/on the engine saving pennies and then having to pay for starter replacement of several thousands for a new one + working hours
It takes a typical 2.5L 4-cylinder engine approximately 4 hours of running at idle to save only a gallon of gas. It is literally negligible the amount you save. This gimmick is literally just to appease the climate change trolls by attempting to curb emissions from idling at the expense of the consumer. Nothing more. The problem is, the best way to get people to accept this stupid feature is by making a claim that you will be saving money on fuel because nobody could give two s***s about emissions. I have it in my Cadillac and I shut it off each time I start the car. I literally don't even know how it works in this car because since I bought it I don't give it a chance to work and nor do I care. Its annoying and if I could have the option I would have it disabled permanently. Also, supposedly cars with this feature have more robust starters and batteries. Good. Then since I refuse to use this feature its nice to know my car has a more robust starter and battery and don't need to worry about these two components failing prematurely.
I just got my GLS 450 about 3 days ago, and ,of course, I love it. However, as in any new car, there is a lot to learn. That is why I am looking at this video. However, your tutorial seems to assume the person watching this has had the Mercedes for the last couple cars. I had them 2 cars ago, but when you say this is like last year, I'm thinking, 'am I going to have to look at the book for that?' I will check around to see if I can find a more detailed review. Thanks though for what you have covered so far.
I'm not surprised at all. It's matter of time. I feel bad for the drivers. NEMF filed chapter 11 and then went under in 2020. They were unionized as well.

I’m currently driving a Tesla Y and while it’s a good car I want something that drives smoother over bumps and other road imperfections…the GLS felt exactly the same as my Y and I even confirmed with the sales rep that I was driving in comfort mode…not sure why all these reviewers are glazing the air suspension on this car and saying it feels like you’re driving on a cloud - it feels very similar to other non-luxury cars. The other thing is that the seats are pretty darn stiff and the leather looked and felt, I dunno…tough and tacky up close. In terms of fit and finish, something was squeaking during the whole test drive and I heard rattles over most bumps. Then to top it off, when we were done with the drive and the rep tried showing us how to lower the third row using the buttons in the back, it wouldn’t work 🤦🏻♂️…that was awkward. So much so that when I politely thanked him and told him I’d “think about it” he just awkwardly smiled and didn’t even try and keep me there to move forward with the sale lol. I’ve never owned a Mercedes but if this car is one of their ‘flagship’ vehicles I think I’ll pass 😬.
This pretty much confirmed my initial impression of this car. Granted I didn’t test drive it, but I did get one as an Uber. It was unexpectedly loud going over bumps on the road, and just didn’t feel like a luxury car. I thought maybe since it was an Uber it had a tough life, but my experience sounds identical to yours 🤷🏾♂️

Nice and everything but I take a Toyota grand highlander over this because of the cool middle row but also everything is power and soon or later that break down and cost a lot to fix vs Toyota that you fold yourself so it least longer. And Toyota has more cargo space.
