I think this is a good entry level model for Vanquish. And I think the price is reasonable given the competition. The new Axial Basecamp K10 is comparably priced. I do think they should have done a body that is more distinct from the Phoenix body, though. This one may scream, "WIllys truck" while the Phoenix screams "Toyota Landcruiser truck," but the overall look is very similar. Exciting to see so many new products from them lately.
- Vanquish & Josh "really" nailed it with this more simplistic, yet defined Jeep "Willy's" Truck-like body !!!! 👌Now, I "need" this... in that flat grey !!!
I like this body alot. But for the little extra money i still think the phoenix is the way to go. I love mine. And building the phoenix showed me just how well these trucks are made. Ive had mine over a year of hard crawling and haven't broke anything. I run a 2700kv 10shooter from Holmes hobbies with a mambaX esc on 3s-4s. Even ran it on 5s and was amazing. ❤ my phoenix.
@@evoxer87 well the 10shooter I have is the sensored version that's still available on the website last I looked. It can be ran without the sensor and still be still be great. I run mine sensor on since it's there and let me tell you it hands down the most controllable start-up an slowest steady crawl you can get....... I have 4 or 5 team spec motors and all kinda holmes motors and the 10 shooter is by far the smoothest. Only down side is the magnets have to be small so the 10shooter will not hold as strong as a puller pro 4pole motor on a hill. But in my vanquish phoenix at 8 pounds plus it holds great. And I'm not geared down at all. I'm running the 15t pinion that came in the phoenix kit.
@@evoxer87 it's worth every penny. And I think I did see there were none sensor 10shooters left in the stubby. And I can say I've disconnected the sensor before to see how it do and it wasn't noticeable at all.
Seems like I couldn't recover from my financial crisis.. hahaha... another superb rig from vanquish and an awesome run on the trails/rocks Greg! Nice work! 😊
Can’t see these selling very well at that price compared to the Phoenix. Whether you add the additional servos for the Phoenix right off the bat or not, at least you have that option down the road but not with this with the very simple transmission. Price of this should be $399 in my opinion
Absolutely! This is an attempt to answer the Base Camp truck platform but this new setup makes ZERO financial sense! Also, how dumb is it for RC Driver to claim "now I can just concentrate on driving because of the lack of the other servo options" as if they cause such a distraction that we can't drive🙄🙄. That's apologetic marketing for you🤥🤥🤥
You can add dig to that standard vfd transmission with their hurtz dig unit. $460 isn't horrible for an rtr from vanquish. They've always had a higher price tag. It's basically the lightweight version of a pro
@@lipoz-n-nitroz4012Dumb? Being narrow minded is dumb. Things happen, buttons get accidentally pressed, it’s happened to me and I’ve seen it happen to others. Unreal the amount of complaining there is in this hobby from some of its “experienced.” It’s what’s chasing new people away and a contributor to prices going up. Why are experienced people even throwing shade here? It’s an RTR, mainly aimed at the entry-level crowd. The bigger market, where people simply have fun with cars. Not everyone mods them. If you claim to be experienced, make a simple decision. Hey this is cool I’ll look into it more or hey, not for me I’ll move on.
@@rcdriver LAMO! You're that butrhurt you were called out for your BS? I've been using a TRX4 with 8 channels worth of outputs and never have I, or anyone else, been "distracted" by the extra buttons. Stop your BS.
It reaaaallllyy needs a windscreen visor... 😬 Those tyres look pretty damn good, nice and soft. I wonder who will be the first to introduce dual stage foams in an RTR? At least in the front where you really need them for steering accuracy 👍
Yes! I was hoping for a new scx10 II with an ugly body! What a let down this release is… I absolutely love the Phoenix! Bit this is just lame… A Capra like buggy with the selectable transmission and the option to add a front axle to the rear for 4WS would be cool!
Sorry I think I would have to disagree with you on the best RTR. You mentioned multiple times how the phoenix has stuff that new one doesn’t how does that make sense hahaha. Being dig ready and overdrive ready out of the box just have to add servo is game changing. Phoenix all the way
To you the Phoenix may be a better option, but not for everyone. You’re an experienced hobbyist by the sounds of it. Did you know that the experienced hobbyist is actually the smaller portion of the hobby world? General fun havers make up the majority and don’t care about a dig or want to even think about getting extra gear to make it work. They just want to go have fun. This is an easier, less expensive option for them to go and do that. Make sense now?
Vanquish continues to make the ugliest bodies of any manufacturer and continues to include the tires that go straight into the bin. Plus having to immediately swap out the servo and esc just makes this a waste of money. Another cash-grab by Vanquish.
@@markjackson3459I kinda agree with what the other guy says not yours. Have you experienced driving or own a Vanquish? People all says it's great and rave about it but it has never appealed to me, first the price. I'm not paying over $1200CAD for a crawler rig. I have 3 trail crawlers - TRX4 defender, TRX4 Sport Kit with Traxx and Redcat Gen 8 Axe. They're all fantastic to me and featured them in my channel here, I've driven them in really tough gnarly crawling spots and they've done exceedingly well...I enjoy driving them all. I don't see the point for me getting a Vanquish, my TRX4 Sport can perform just as well on par if not better. At the end of the day it's my money spending and love the rigs that I have to "play" with.
@@flat-out - you missed the point. A lot of people will pay over $1200CAD for a crawler, a lot of people won't. Just because I think they are expensive for what they are doesn't mean that they are, here comes the stupid saying, a cash-grab.
it is not a looker, totally. Looks hiper cheap due to this plastic on the front. Desing 2/10 for me. Must admit, I love vanquish rigs but this one? totally NOPEEEEEEEEE

I love how inside the bed is chassis bars instead of a ridiculously raised bed floor that most lexan body trucks have
Got mine in and absolutely love it.
5:55 nice save! This looks like a great RTR performer with a few less options over the Phoenix.
Quick pause for a deep breath on that one. The body was still unscathed at that point. 😄

Great video, terrain and review! Love this truck!

Building from parts is always better. But sometimes you just want to unbox and go.

Greg, It’s Ron from Danbury Hobby where is this place you’re at? Thanks
For 20 dollars more, the vanquish rtr is a no-brainer. They have to bring the price down a bit more, or I can see these not selling well.
This is a vanquish rtr lol
Muchos autos bonitos poca plata mi Amigo me estoy volviendo loco saludos y gracias por compartir algun dia compro uno asi
