  • The best thing about the NMZ is no motorized vessels are allowed (hence the name). On this trip I had the entire area to myself.
    They need our support!

Thanks, I take what I can get. Not a live bait guy but sometimes you gotta mix things up.

Fished down there many times. Some say that area is restricted to everyone. I cant figure it out and never been thrown out..good to see another vid from you. You can definitely go down the west bank from Kars. Fishing down there can be insane.

Thanks Bob, there used to be a launch spot on the left right before you got to the guard shack checkpoint goo.gl/maps/AsgtZ69KT4TmqkDa7. That has been sealed up and is no longer accessible and all kinds of people would launch from there (me included). Honestly, I'm not totally sure if the eastside is restricted or not. I can't find anything saying it is. I know at one point is was because of 9/11.
I appreciate you taking the time to watch!

@united.by.water Eastside is restricted. Basically, if you get near CCSFS gate, you're getting close to where you're not supposed to be. I'd stay away from NASA and the Capes property, it's pretty much all restricted. Otherwise, their marine patrol will come out and tell you to leave. Lots of busy bodies who work out there will report you because it's their fishing spots. If you work out there, you can fish all of it, and the biggest fish you have ever seen are in there. You cast your catch on ksc and the cape. It's not fair, but it is what it is. If you know someone who works out there, they can bring you on as a guest to fish out there. Don't ask how I know all this let's just say it's coming from the horses mouth. You can fish quite a bit north of Kars Park. I believe there are signs saying when the area is restricted. But the signs aren't everywhere and can be missed. The entire east side over there is the cape and your going to be run off, NASA property doesn't start for a while north of KARS park although KARS is Kennedys property it's seperate from the restricted part of the installation. When in doubt feign ignorance. If marine patrol does come out, ask for clarity. Lastly be careful lots of large dinosaurs out there.

I’ve fished that east shore many times before 9/11. I didn’t know they eased up on letting people in again but I did read that somewhere as well. Back in the day I was run out of several areas by massive alligators. There’s a lot of them in there

Thanks for watching Izzy and I appreciate it. Not sure where you live but it's right by Cape Canaveral. You have a few options of where to launch from, KARS park, Kelly park or two spots off the eastern north side of the Beachline see links.
