- "She's Always a Woman" is a song by Billy Joel from his 1977 album, "The Stranger". The single peaked at No. 17 in the U.S. in Oct. 1978, and at No. 53 in the UK in 1986, when it was released as a double A-side with "Just the Way You Are". It re-entered the UK chart in 2010, reaching No. 29.
It is a love song about a woman whom the singer has fallen totally in love with to the extent of falling for her endearing quirks as well as her flaws.
Joel wrote the song for his then-wife, Elizabeth Weber. Joe had taken over management of Joel's career, and was able to put his financial affairs in order after Joel had signed some bad deals and contracts. The two eventually divorced in 1982.
Beautifully played and a great song for Mother's Day, yesterday!
Thank you Elaine...glad you enjoyed it!
I agree with Wayne and Elise, nicely done.
Thanks Donald!
Very nice Gary!
Thank you Elise!
What a lovely version of Billy Joel's famous song! I loved the progressive chords you used along with the voicing that was great for the song! Well-done and well-played as always Gary! Wayne in Pompano Beach, Florida
Thanks very much Wayne!
this is more complicated than an airline cockpit
Lol, not at all!
Love this song. You played it well. Did you do an 8VA in the middle of the song or just moved up an octave and add presets throughout?
Thank you Sue! I just played the song as written...I did not do an 8va. I did create setups.
