- How to make a unicorn cake with Rainbow hair! This unicorn is designed on the unicorn emoji cake on iphones :) I decided to give the unicorn rainbow hair and a golden horn but you could stick to the colours used in the original emoji if you prefer.

Basic Victoria sponge cake recipe -
Ingredients:
225g butter
225g caster sugar
4 eggs
225g self-raising flour
1 tsp vanilla essence
Method:
Cream together the butter and sugar, then beat in the eggs and vanilla essence. Once smooth and creamy, fold in the flour.
Pour in to a greased cake tin and bake in the oven at 180degrees for approximately 40 minutes, until golden brown and a knife comes out clean.
Buttercream recipe -
600g icing sugar, sifted
300g unsalted or salted butter, softened
optional flavouring
Beat the ingredients together.

The cake was amazing, as always, Zoe. But I really liked the marbled base for it. I used to do the same thing with Play-Dough but NEVER came out as well. Haha And the pearls and stars really gave it a 3D look.

Hi Zoe. This cake is amazing. Can I ask what ratio or measurements you use to make the gold paint? I have a rolkolm dust and when I mix it with vodka I either end up with a watery substance with a bit of sparkle or it isn't very easily painted and the vodka evaporates too quickly. Any help you could give me would be great xx
can you do a tutorial on how to make a cake and buttercream, I'm rubbish at buttercream and can't get my sponge to look light and fluffy
