Spoilers(?): Much like how Venti is Barbatos, Zhongli is implied to be Rex Lapis. Zhongli mentions in his dialogue that a friend from Monstadt would sometimes bring Dandelion Wine when he visited. Dandelion Wine is Venti's favorite drink. The Statues of the Seven in Liyue look like Zhongli, like how the Statues in Monstadt look like Venti. Rex Lapis is implied to use polearms in the Teyvat Travel Guide for Liyue and the Diary of Roald the Adventurer - Guyun Stone Forest. Guess what type of weapon Zhongli uses? If Zhongli really is Rex Lapis, then he literally arranged for his own funeral. That's hilarious. Edit 1: Zhongli refers to the dragon corpse as an “exuvia”. “Exuvia” is a term referring to a molted skin or exoskeleton that a creature discards as it grows. In other words, the dragon is/was a discarded “skin” or identity. Also, Zhongli’s name is apparently a pun literally meaning “Off the clock”.

Much like how Venti is Barbatos, Zhongli is implied to be Rex Lapis.
Zhongli mentions in his dialogue that a friend from Monstadt would sometimes bring Dandelion Wine when he visited. Dandelion Wine is Venti's favorite drink.
The Statues of the Seven in Liyue look like Zhongli, like how the Statues in Monstadt look like Venti.
Rex Lapis is implied to use polearms in the Teyvat Travel Guide for Liyue and the Diary of Roald the Adventurer - Guyun Stone Forest. Guess what type of weapon Zhongli uses?
If Zhongli really is Rex Lapis, then he literally arranged for his own funeral. That's hilarious.
Edit 1: Zhongli refers to the dragon corpse as an “exuvia”. “Exuvia” is a term referring to a molted skin or exoskeleton that a creature discards as it grows. In other words, the dragon is/was a discarded “skin” or identity.
Also, Zhongli’s name is apparently a pun literally meaning “Off the clock”.

Venti's identity as Barbatos was confirmed (without any doubt) in his own character stories (in addition to the quests and stuff).
This man can summon a meteor, every other 5 stars ultimate aren’t as dramatic.
